Lewis - Catharine Lewis (nee Duncanson) peacefully at her residence at Metcalfe Gardens, St. Thomas on January 26, 2004 in her 96th year. Catharine was born in Glencoe on February 20, 1908 to parents Margaret Belle (McRae) and Archie Peter Duncanson. For 46 years she taught High School in several Ontario communities concluding her years of service at Central Elgin Collegiate in St. Thomas. She was a past member of the I.O.D.E., Kanata Chapter, a past member of the Union Golf and Country Club and an avid bridge player. Catharine was predeceased by her husband Clive (1991), and her brothers Christopher (1989) and Archie(A.D.) in 1996. Catharine is survived by her sister-in-law Elsie Duncanson (London), and niece Marilyn Barker (Paul) and their family (Toronto). She will be fondly remembered by her late husband s nieces and nephews including Margaret Patterson, Roderick Ferguson, Colin Ferguson, and their families. A public Memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Rev. Dr. Andrew Human officiating. Interment took place in Elmdale cemetery. Donations may be made to the C.N.I.B., the Canadian Cancer Society or to Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas.
Maskell - Amy Marie of Chateau Gardens, Aylmer, formerly of Hamilton on Tuesday, February, 17, 2004, at the St. ThomasElgin General Hospital, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late William George Maskell (1989) and dear mother of Bruce and his wife Janet Maskell of San Francisco, Linda and her husband Christopher Pereira of St. Thomas and Terry and his wife Cheryl Maskell of Hamilton. Dear grandmother of Daniel, Geoffrey, Christopher and Michael and dear friend of Cheryl and Arleen Jennings of London. Also survived by a number of brothers and sisters. Daughter of the late Bruce and Edna Watts. A private service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Saturday, February 21, 2004 Cremation has taken place. Waite - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Continuing Care Centre on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Mrs. Colleene (Bogart) Waite of St. Thomas, beloved wife of the late Cecil E. Jake Waite (Feb. 21, 2000), in her 78th year. Dearly loved mother of Mrs. Doris Rose and her husband Don of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Eugene Bogart and his wife Carol of Wainwright, AB, late Murray Bogart (his wife Jean of London), late Mrs. Madalene Saxon and late Mrs. Marion Clarke. Also lovingly remembered by 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was born in St. Thomas, April 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Alfred and Irene (Smith) Bogart. Moroz - At the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, St. Thomas on Thursday, February 19, 2004. Peter Moroz of St. Thomas, husband of Lillian (Travis) Bishop, in his 78th year. Father of Karen Taylor and her partner Ken of Windsor, Mark Moroz and his wife Lynn of Essex, Kim Moroz and her partner Michael of Windsor, Krista Fields and her husband Barry of Windsor and Mary Kay Vary and her husband Andrew of St. Catharines. Also survived by Lillian s two daughters, Lacey Bishop and Shari Bishop, both of St. Thomas and by several grandchildren. A son, Matthew J. Moroz died in 1979 and a sister, Mary Moroz died in 1996. He was born in Transcona, Manitoba, September 16, 1926, the son of the late John and Kathleen (Kydrytska) Moroz. Mr. Moroz was a retired employee of Elgin Handles Ltd., St. Thomas. He had been a resident of St. Thomas since the early 1980 s and was a member of the St. Thomas Salvation Army. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Beasley - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, March 27, 2004. Talbot C. Pete Beasley, a resident of Port Stanley since 1949, in his 90th year. Husband of Rose Mary (Yates) Beasley. Father of Peter Beasley and his wife Grace of London and Rosemary Gale of Port Stanley. Also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His son-in-law, David Gale died in 2003. Born in Brisbane, Australia, May 15, 1914, the son of the late Herbert and Faith Beasley. Mr. Beasley was a retired employee of the Ontario Hospital. Following the 2nd World War, he served in Germany with the British Occupation Army of the Rhine (BOAR) for four years. He was a member of Christ Church (Anglican), Port Stanley. At the request of Mr. Beasley, there will be no public visitation. A private family memorial service will be held. Following cremation, interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Cook - David Kenneth of R.R. 5 St. Thomas, on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital after a courageous battle lovingly surrounded by his family, in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Dallas (Church) Cook and dearly loved father of Stanley and his partner Kim, Terry and his wife Cheryl, Tim and Mike Cook, all of St. Thomas, Teresa and her husband Brian Kenney of Columbus, Ohio and Brescia and her husband Doug Van Velzer of St. Thomas. Dear brother of Jack and his wife Ann Cook of St. Thomas, Maxine Smith of Brights Grove, Jean McLeod of St. Thomas, Christine and her husband Harold Atkinson of Elmvale. Dear brother-in-law of Lorraine Cook of Toronto and Norma Cook of St. Thomas. Predeceased by 4 brothers Ronald, Keith Pop , Gord, Myles Joe Cook and a sister Helen Axford and by 3 brothers-in-law Robert Bob Axford, George Smith and Robert Bob McLeod. Loved grandfather of Jenny, Carrie, David, Sean, Natasha, Nora, David, Alanna, Brenna and Dawn. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. David was a real estate agent and also farmed and worked for Canada Bread. He was a member of St. Mark s Lodge #94 A.F. and A.M. and was a Shriner. He served in Municipal Government, was a former Reeve of Yarmouth and Warden of Elgin County, he was active with the Liberal Party and ran for the Liberal Party. David was an avid outdoors man but his family was always his first love. He was born in St. Thomas on October 2, 1936, the son of the late Stanley and Agnes Louise (Gage) Cook. He lived in this area all his life. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Union cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
