1950 - 2003

Germon, Robert "Bob" - At Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton, on Saturday, April 5, 2003. Robert Clinton Germon, of RR#3 Wiarton , in his 54th year. Loving husband of the former Penny Campbell. Cherished father of Tara-Lyn (Mrs. Craig Rush), of Dublin,ON; Jennifer (Mrs. Adam Blay), of Owen Sound; Steven, of Toronto; Kevin, of North Bay; and Clinton, at home. Grandfather of Jessica, Kaelyn, Aidan, Nicholas and Logan. Survived by his parents, Clinton and the late Marjorie Germon; and his brother, Bill Germon, of Toronto. At Bob's request, cremation has taken place. Friends and family will gather at Greenwood cemetery , Owen Sound, on Wednesday, April 9th at 11 o'clock for a graveside service. Father Ed Wagner will officiate. Thence to the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL in Sauble Beach for a reception. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Clinton will plant a maple tree at the funeral home in memory of his father.

1913 - 2003

Halls, Kenneth - passed away quietly on Sunday, January 26, 2003, in his 90th year. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and children, Ken and Susan. A public memorial service will be held in the chapel of the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Sauble Beach 422-0041, on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, friends are invited to remain and enjoy a reception with the family. A tree will be planted at the funeral home in memory of Ken.

Ray Richardson
1936 - 2003

Richardson, Raymond "Ray" Robert - Peacefully, at Golden Dawn, in Lion’s Head on Monday, March 10, 2003. Ray Richardson, of Lion’s Head, in his 67th year. Dear father of Bev and her husband, Paul Boswell, Sandy Jones, and Don and his wife, Suzy, all of Wiarton. Loving grandfather of Melissa and Amanda Boswell; Karlee and Brandee Jones; and Robin and Kayla Richardson. Great-grandfather of Mackenzie Boswell. Cherished brother of Jacqueline, and her husband, Lorne Ceaser, of Lion’s Head; and step-sisters, Peggy Anne Moore, of Guelph and Gaylynn Moore, of Chatsworth. Sadly missed by his niece and nephew, Laurie Burt, and Greg Ceaser and his wife, Cindy; and great-nephews, Jody, Gatlin and McKinley. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Nora Richardson; and George Moore. Friends may call at the Thomas C. Thomas, Minto Mae - peacefully, and with loving care, at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on Monday, February 24, 2003. The former Minto Mae Hurdle of Owen Sound, in her 86th year. Loving wife of Gordon. Cherished mother of Bob and his wife, Fran, of Hepworth, and Roland, of Owen Sound. Special grandmother of Terry, and his wife Marsha, of Mountain Lake; Sherry, of Barrie; Christine, of Kitchener; Mark, of Tobago; Randy, of Toronto; Jason, of Owen Sound; Aaron, of British Columbia; Micah, of Halifax; and Andrew, of Meaford. Great grand-mother of Tyler, Meagan and Whitney, of Mountain Lake. Survived by her step-brothers, Dewar Bosel and Bob Bosel, of Mt. Clements, Michigan; and step-sister, Betty Witty, of Ingersol. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Jessie Hurdle, and step-brothers, Arthur and Leo. At Minto's request cremation has taken place. Harvey Whitcroft
1937 - 2003

Whitcroft, Harvey Louis - Peacefully, with his family at his side, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Harvey Louis Whitcroft, of Red Bay, in his 66th year. Loving husband of the former Betty Coveney. Cherished father of Tom and his wife, Mary-Lou, of Wiarton, and Pete, of Barrie. Special 'papa' to Jeffrey and Christopher. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Blake and Dorothy Whitcroft; his brother, Darrel, and sister, Diane. Dad will be remembered for his Interest In and Love of Nature. He was a SPORTSMAN from an early age. Friends may call at the Thomas C. Chegwidden, William Kenneth “Ken” - at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Ken Chegwidden, of Sauble Beach, in his 77th year. Loving husband of Valerie. Cherished father of Ian, and his wife, Paulette, of Pitt Meadows, B.C.; Lesley Landoni, of Fergus; Gina Brusch, of Belwood; and son-in-laws Rick & John. Special grandfather of Christopher, Paul, Elizabeth, Alexandra and Eric; and great-grandfather of Hanna. Ken is survived by two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Lillian Chegwidden; two brothers and one sister. Family will gather for a private memorial service. Cremation with interment in Cornwall cemetery , England. Cherished father of Sharon and her late husband, Donald Asselin, of Ste. Catherine De La J.C., Quebec; Debbie and her husband Lawrence Robinson, of Guelph; Brenda Laycock, of Meaford; and Joanne and her husband Bob Blackburn, of Owen Sound. Fondly remembered by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brothers and sisters, Rita Wonch, of Wiarton; Howard McLeod of Hamilton, and Laura and her husband Ralph Bleakly, of Minden; Catherine and her husband Wilbert Bartley, of Owen Sound; Doug McLeod and his wife Marilyn, of Elliott Lake; and Anne and her husband Wayne Ward, of Wiarton; and by his brothers-in-law, Elliott Cooper and his wife, Beverly; and Clarence Cooper, and his wife, Lois; and Marie, and her late husband, Glen Cooper, all of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his parents William and Minnie McLeod, and his brother, Donald. Friends may call at the THOMAS C. Loving husband of the former Laura Jean Mitchell. Cherished father of Philip, of Red Bay; Stanley, of Beaverdell, B.C.; Jennifer, of Toronto; and Katherine (Mrs. Raymond Gadoury), of Penetanguishene. Special grandfather of Shawn, Josh, Kyle, and Lance. Survived by his sister Nancy (Mrs. Fred Joudrey), of Peterborough. Predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Doris Harold. Chuck was a long-standing member of the former Scenic City Kiwanis Club. At Chuck’s request cremation has taken place. Cherished father of Corinna Atchison, of Barrie; Kenny Atchison, of Sauble Beach; and their mother, Margaret Atchison. Special grandfather of Josolyn Weir. Brother of Kim Givens, and her husband John, of Listowel, and Joy Atchison-Liggins and her husband Gary, of Sauble Beach. Son of Wilma Young and her husband Lionel, and the late Glen Atchison. Ken will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the THOMAS C. Father of George and his wife, Nancy, of Owen Sound; and Shirley (Mrs. Nelson Lewis), of Tiverton. Grandfather of Wanda Ottewell, Teresa Ottewell, Brenda Elliott and Scott Lewis. Great-grandfather of two. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Emma Ottewell; his brothers, Alonzo, John, and Elgin; and his sister, Helen McCartney. A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, in Sauble Beach, on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to service. Myrtle Bennett
1930 - 2003

Bennett, Myrtle Anne
-peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton, on Sunday, January 12, 2003. Myrtle Anne Bennett at the age of seventy-two, after having a stroke, leaves behind: husband Arnold; son Michael; daughters Virginia, Constance, Rebecca, and Sarah; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Will be missed by sisters Grace Cruickshank, Joy Couch, Ruth Parrest and Esther McCleery. Predeceased by brothers Frank and Hugh; and sisters Ruby Couch and Elsie Cowan. Myrtle Anne Bennett was born as Myrtle Anne Thomas: fourth child of Frank and Annie Thomas, at Deer Lodge, located in the Haliburton highlands on Lake Kushogawigamog. Except for a few childhood years on farms in Moorefield, Ontario, she has had a lifetime of tourism hospitality at Wildwood Lodge Resort and Evergreen Resort at Red Bay, Ontario. Myrtle married Arnold Bennett at age eighteen after being his high school sweetheart for four years. Together they had fifty-three years of marriage and business partnership She will always be remembered by the thousands of guests who knew her as a person interested in everyone and ready to make them happy and comfortable and well fed. Myrtle enjoyed working with the flowerbeds and shrubs that so many guests and visitors enjoyed. It was while getting flowerbeds ready for winter and next years blooming that she suffered her stroke. Myrtle was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and as such had an understanding and belief from the Bible that the earth will become a paradise under the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus, and that under God's judgement, will have a resurrection to life on this new paradise earth. Friends may call at the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL in Sauble Beach, on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cremation. A Memorial Service will be held from the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Wiarton, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18. Great-grandmother of Katie, Alexandra, Rachel, Craig, Tom, Sam, Brooke, and Emma. Survived by her brothers and sisters, Andrew Harvey (May), Victor Trenchard (June), and Doreen Prendergast.
