Devoted mother of Douglas Gould (Evelyn), of Calgary, AB; Linda Harwood (Barry Wismer), of Port Elgin; and stepmother of Barbara West-Bartley (Bill Bartley), of Wiarton. Proud grandmother of Graham Ivanovv, Isaac Wismer, Anne Wismer, Ian Wismer, Kevin West and Andrew West. Sister of Roy Wilson (Harriet), and Nancy Schurman (late Ron). Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends in the community. Predeceased by her husband Gordon W. Harwood; brother Donald Wilson; sister Lois Snook (late Lloyd); and parents Dolph and Bess. Betty was a long-standing member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Wiarton and proudly retired from teaching after more than 35 years of educating our children. Schmidt, Winnifred "Winnie" - (December 27, 1921 - February 6, 2013) Winnifred Schmidt (nee Berry) died peacefully at Gateway Haven Nursing Home in Wiarton. She looked forward to her conversation with Jesus in person. She is survived by her eldest son Rev. Ralph (Sharon) Schmidt; daughter Jane Martin; daughter-in-law Doris Schmidt; grandchildren Melanie, Lauren, Nicole, Tammy, Stephanie, Robert and Krista; as well as six great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Harold; son Bruce; grandsons Trevor and David; brother Roy (wife Veronica); brother-in-law Ralph; and her parents John and Clara (nee Eichler) Berry. Cremation has taken place, with interment in Memory Garden, Guelph at a later date. A memorial service will be held at Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Frank St. in Wiarton at 11 am on Monday February 11th, 2013 with visitation one hour before service. Rev. Askin, James "Jimmy" Hay - His family wishes to thank his two anonymous, selfless organ donor families. One family gave him his life back with a heart transplant over 23 years ago. More than 6 years ago, our second donor family gave Jimmy more time with his family when he received his kidneys, freeing him from a life of dialysis. Jimmy passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Loving husband of the former Susan Bayer. Great-grandmother of Kolten Gilbert and Kristine King-Miller. Lorrie was eager to hold her new great-grandson - due in February. Cherished Grandfather of Noah, Olivia, Madeline, Tessa, Declan, Joshua and Spencer. Brother of Jimmy, of Moosonee, and George and his wife Dorothy, North Bay; and step-brother of Mary Linklater, Gaston Gagnon, and Phefemi Linklater. Brother-in-law of Bryan Akiwenzie, Alex Akiwenzie and his wife Alice, Donna Akiwenzie, Andrea and her husband Bill Chegahno, Christalee Akiwenzie, Lisa Akiwenzie, and Giles Akiwenzie and his wife Patricia. Mike worked many years for Public Works Canada along with several Aboriginal organizations: Curve Lake First Nation; New Credit First Nation and the National Association of Friendship Centres until coming to Cape Croker where he became the Capital Planner and finishing his career as the Project Manager for the new Cape Croker Elementary School.
