John Douglass Myles “Jack” “Zeke” - of Wiarton, on Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 at the Wiarton Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer, in his 76th year. Husband of Mary (nee Wright); father of Pete (Dawn) of Fergus, Dave, Scott (Shannon), Kent (Josie), all of Wiarton. Grandfather of, according to Zeke, “the best looking bunch of grandkids you’ve ever seen”: Zeke (Crystal), Amanda, Melissa (Scott), Drew, Tyler, Davyn, Anna, Sam, Erica & Jack. Zeke was owner/operator of Jack Myles BA/Gulf Station for 25 years. He was a proud member of the Wiarton District Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. Zeke appreciated his many connections with the community. Literally - “Jack of all trades - master of none”. He enjoyed his variety of endeavours and his career as a sailor, gas attendant, ambulance & hearse driver, fire fighter, car washer, grave digger, labourer, apple picker, stone mason, janitor, gardener & grandfather. A hard working and honest man; his quick wit & smile will be missed by all of us. At Zeke's request there will be no service, however, friends and family are invited to attend a gathering at the home of Kent and Josie Myles, 114 Division Street on Saturday October 13th, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. John J. Kroezen April 22, 1905 – October 4, 2007 Gone to be with Jesus and reunited with his wife Aleida of 71 years and his family who had gone before him. John Kroezen, of RR#1 Hepworth, passed on to glory in his 103rd year; with his family’s blessing that our Father in Heaven would bless his going to sleep and his awakening. And what an awakening it was…in an instant, his last breath on this earth was his first breath in Heaven – from mortality to immortality. John is sadly missed by Arie and the late Greta VanHelden, John and Jane Kroezen, Gary and the late Ria Kroezen, Libby Kroezen, 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. There will be a private family interment at Zion cemetery , Hepworth on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 followed by a Celebration of God’s Wonderful Provision and Promises of Heaven to all who personally knows the One who has the keys to the Kingdom. Beloved husband of 52 years to Bernice (Daugherty) Kristoferson. He will be forever remembered in the hearts of his children Paul (Jo Ann Lovell); Kim (Tim Mclvor); and Karin (John LaCroix). Loving grandfather (Farfar and Morfar) to Adam, Samantha, Lucas, Paige, Hannah, and Claire. Uncle Chris to many nieces and nephews. The son of the late Kristoffer and Margareta Kristoffersson; and dear brother of Ingeborg, Kristina, and Greta, of Sweden. Bert touched many hearts and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered by his great friends of the Tip of the Bruce Carving Club, Happy Harbour Seniors Club, Tobermory Clinic Auxiliary, Card Playing Groups, and neighbours. Bert served as Worshipful Master and Secretary of Lebanon Forest Lodge #133, Exeter and Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star Chapter #222, Exeter. Sadly missed by his brother Rob McGregor; Judy Shawbedees, Carl Ritchie Jr., Linda Ritchie, Marie Ritchie, Randy Ritchie, Guy Ritchie, Phillip Ritchie Jr., Louise Ritchie, Cheryl Ritchie, Susan Shawbedees and great-nephew Silas; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Frank proudly served with the United States Marines in Korea, Hanoi, and the beginning stages of Vietnam. He was a founding member of the Anishinabek Police Services and was most proud to support his community, serving on Council for 35 years; negotiating a new Treaty with the University of Notre Dame for Pottawatomi students to attend; and performing Traditional Ceremonies throughout North America.
