Eva Delena Wyonch
1916 - 2007

Eva Wyonch – of Tobermory peacefully with her family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion’s Head on Monday, October 29th, 2007. The former Eva Delena Granville in her 92nd year. Loving wife of the late Dan Wyonch (2001) and Pat Wilson (1944). Devoted mother of Goldie and her husband Clayton Mielhausen, of RR#2 Lion’s Head; Patsy and her husband Dale McArthur, of Port Elgin; Romayne Wilson and his wife Marie, of Tobermory; and Gail and her husband Barry Thorn, of Hope Bay. Eva will be forever remembered by her 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Laverne Wilson, of Port Dover; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by son John (1955); 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and her parents Joseph and Lydia. Family will gather for a private family service at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Thursday, November 1, 2007. Family invite friends to join with them at Dunk’s Bay cemetery , Tobermory for a graveside service on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Following interment, there will be a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall (7437 Hwy. 6 Tobermory). As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Tobermory Health Clinic Auxiliary, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. In living memory of Eva a Maple tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

Robert “Bob” Bennett
1946 - 2007

Robert “Bob” Bennett – peacefully at his Tobermory residence on Sunday, October 28th, 2007. Robert Cecil Bennett in his 62nd year. Loving husband and best friend of the former Virginia Babcock for 37 years. Cherished father of Stephanie, and Brian, both of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Hannah. Bob was a teacher for 31 years in St. Catharines and area, retiring as a principal in 1999. Family invite friends to join with them in celebrating Bob’s life at the Tobermory United Church, Tobermory on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 2 o’clock. Cremation has taken place. Fay B. Ross – of Wiarton, at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday, October 21st, 2007. Fay Bernice Ross (nee Culbert) in her 80th year. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Lillian Culbert. Sadly missed by her many friends. A service to celebrate the life of Fay Ross will be conducted from the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at 4 o’clock. Visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment in Bayview cemetery , Wiarton. John Douglass Myles “Jack” “Zeke”
1932 - 2007

John Douglass Myles “Jack” “Zeke” - of Wiarton, on Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 at the Wiarton Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer, in his 76th year. Husband of Mary (nee Wright); father of Pete (Dawn) of Fergus, Dave, Scott (Shannon), Kent (Josie), all of Wiarton. Grandfather of, according to Zeke, “the best looking bunch of grandkids you’ve ever seen”: Zeke (Crystal), Amanda, Melissa (Scott), Drew, Tyler, Davyn, Anna, Sam, Erica & Jack. Zeke was owner/operator of Jack Myles BA/Gulf Station for 25 years. He was a proud member of the Wiarton District Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. Zeke appreciated his many connections with the community. Literally - “Jack of all trades - master of none”. He enjoyed his variety of endeavours and his career as a sailor, gas attendant, ambulance & hearse driver, fire fighter, car washer, grave digger, labourer, apple picker, stone mason, janitor, gardener & grandfather. A hard working and honest man; his quick wit & smile will be missed by all of us. At Zeke's request there will be no service, however, friends and family are invited to attend a gathering at the home of Kent and Josie Myles, 114 Division Street on Saturday October 13th, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to PSDS Elementary Music Department, and may be made through the funeral home. Sadie L. McLeod
1919 - 2007

Sadie McLeod – of Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Saturday, October 6th, 2007. The former Sadie Leona Thomas in her 89th year. Loving mother of Bob Richardson and his wife Verniece and Wayne Richardson and his wife Linda, both of RR#1 Allenford; and mother-in-law of Carol Richardson, of Wiarton. Cherished grandmother of Brad Richardson (Anne), Cindy (Rick Day), Cathy Hewitt, Deanna (Mike Vokes), Julie (Greg Yates), Tracy (Chris Hellowell), and Jen Richardson (and partner Jeremy Dodson); and great-grandmother of Kyle, Rachel, Michael, Curtis, Tyler, Ashley, Halley, Emily, Hannah, and Matthew. Devoted sister to Les Thomas (and friend Flo) and Marg Peer, both of Wiarton. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Joanne, Audrey, and Eva, brother-in-law Ross, many nieces, nephews and best friend Carl Cammidge. Predeceased by her son Clayton “Clayt”; husbands Earl Richardson and Bruce McLeod; her parents Robert and Gertrude; brothers Ivan, Jim, Stan and Charlie; and her sisters Nora, Win and Dot. The family invite friends to visit with them in tribute to Sadie’s life to share stories and refreshments on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the Thomas C. John J. Kroezen
1905 - 2007

John J. Kroezen April 22, 1905 – October 4, 2007 Gone to be with Jesus and reunited with his wife Aleida of 71 years and his family who had gone before him. John Kroezen, of RR#1 Hepworth, passed on to glory in his 103rd year; with his family’s blessing that our Father in Heaven would bless his going to sleep and his awakening. And what an awakening it was…in an instant, his last breath on this earth was his first breath in Heaven – from mortality to immortality. John is sadly missed by Arie and the late Greta VanHelden, John and Jane Kroezen, Gary and the late Ria Kroezen, Libby Kroezen, 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. There will be a private family interment at Zion cemetery , Hepworth on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 followed by a Celebration of God’s Wonderful Provision and Promises of Heaven to all who personally knows the One who has the keys to the Kingdom. Everyone is invited to attend. The Celebration will be conducted from the Sauble Christian Fellowship Church, 25 Southampton Pkwy., Sauble Beach on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Oppertshauser and Pastor Tim Harden. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sauble Christian Fellowship Haiti Project would be appreciated. George LaPierre Sr.
1927 - 2007

George LaPierre Sr. Peacefully, with his family at his side, at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Thursday, October 4th, 2007. George LaPierre Sr., of Owen Sound, in his 81st year. Loving husband of almost 58 years to the late former Joy Charlton (2007). Cherished father of Fr. George LaPierre CSB, of Sault Ste. Marie; and Laurie (Mrs. Scott Hay), of Owen Sound. Loving grandfather of Donnie Murray and Gregory Hay. Survived by his brother Larry LaPierre (Pat), and his sister Marcella Gurney, all of Owen Sound. Greatly missed by his brother-in-law Jim Charlton (Nicki), and sisters-in-law Dorothy (Mrs. Ron Schamerhorn), and Bonnie (Mrs. Ron Playford), all of Owen Sound; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Lillian Gransden and Florence LaPierre. Friends may call at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound (519) 376-0778, on Tuesday, October 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be conducted Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Owen Sound on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery , Owen Sound. Bert Kristoferson
1929 - 2007

Bert Kristoferson It is with great sadness that the family of Bert P. Kristoferson announces his passing on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 in his 78th year at his Tobermory residence. Beloved husband of 52 years to Bernice (Daugherty) Kristoferson. He will be forever remembered in the hearts of his children Paul (Jo Ann Lovell); Kim (Tim Mclvor); and Karin (John LaCroix). Loving grandfather (Farfar and Morfar) to Adam, Samantha, Lucas, Paige, Hannah, and Claire. Uncle Chris to many nieces and nephews. The son of the late Kristoffer and Margareta Kristoffersson; and dear brother of Ingeborg, Kristina, and Greta, of Sweden. Bert touched many hearts and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered by his great friends of the Tip of the Bruce Carving Club, Happy Harbour Seniors Club, Tobermory Clinic Auxiliary, Card Playing Groups, and neighbours. Bert served as Worshipful Master and Secretary of Lebanon Forest Lodge #133, Exeter and Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star Chapter #222, Exeter. His respect for life, great inner strength and deep love for family will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Tobermory United Church on Saturday, October 13th, 2007 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tobermory Health Clinic Auxiliary (c/o Joan Carmount 906 Dorcas Bay Road, Tobermory, ON, NOH 2RO) would be gratefully appreciated. Frank Shawbedees
1939 - 2007

Frank Shawbedees - of Saugeen First Nation #29 suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Southampton on Monday, September 24th, 2007. Franklin Phillip Shawbedees in his 69th year. Loving father of John, of White Dog, and Pedobnoque “Margaret” Shawbedees and her husband Matthew Bygrave, of Wiarton. Cherished grandfather of Kia, Jamie, Arianna, and Jayden. Sadly missed by his brother Rob McGregor; Judy Shawbedees, Carl Ritchie Jr., Linda Ritchie, Marie Ritchie, Randy Ritchie, Guy Ritchie, Phillip Ritchie Jr., Louise Ritchie, Cheryl Ritchie, Susan Shawbedees and great-nephew Silas; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his former spouse Briena; his brothers Carl and Lincoln; his parents Isaiah and Anna; and his step-father Harry Ritchie. Frank proudly served with the United States Marines in Korea, Hanoi, and the beginning stages of Vietnam. He was a founding member of the Anishinabek Police Services and was most proud to support his community, serving on Council for 35 years; negotiating a new Treaty with the University of Notre Dame for Pottawatomi students to attend; and performing Traditional Ceremonies throughout North America. Family invite friends to visit at the family home, 6376 Hwy. 21, Saugeen First Nation on Wednesday. A traditional service to celebrate the life of “Skwedebineashe” will be held at the James Mason Memorial Recreation Centre on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with visiting 2 hours prior to service. Interment in Saugeen cemetery , Hwy. 21, Saugeen First Nation. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Devoted and loving mother of Paul Douglas Clark, of Victoria, BC; and Tracy Lynn Clark, of Creston, BC. Cherished grandmother of Danielle Eggert and Tyler Eggert, of Creston, BC. Dear daughter of Herb and Annie Sales of Paris, ON. Much loved sister of Carol Cook (Gary), of Dundas; Susan Kelley (Jim), of Falkland, ON; Paul Sales (Kathy), of RR#2 Hepworth; Ann Marie Labron (Jim), of RR#5 Simcoe; and Lorie Steiner (Jeff), of Brantford. Dear brother of Rosalie, Marion, Joan, and Donald. Cherished son of Albert and Irene Barry. Sadly missed by sister-in-law Carla, nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by a brother, Wayne. Bruce taught for many years at the Owen Sound Campus of Georgian College, and brought a smile to the face of every customer he served owning Bruce Barry’s Small Engine Repair.
