Jim Preisz
1918 - 2007

Preisz, James “Jim” - Veteran of WWII – of Wiarton, peacefully at Gateway Haven, Wiarton, on Monday, April 2nd, 2007. James Edward Preisz in his 89th year. Jim is predeceased by his first wife, Kate; and survived by his second wife, Florence. Forever loved by his daughter Bonnie Preisz (Steve Fox), of Wiarton; and step-children Darline “Sitter” Livingstone, of Kitchener, Yvonne “Dot” Primmer, of Wiarton, Allen, Steve, Barb, Keith (and families). Cherished grandfather of Dillon (at home), Bobby, Sally, Teddy, Paul, Nicky, and Terry. He is sadly missed by his many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Margaret Shipton, Doris Mellen (Ron) and Evelyn Cairns; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, John James and Esther Mae. Jim was proud to serve his country as a Gunner for the First Hussars Regiment. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., where a service celebrating Jim’s life will be conducted from the chapel on Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock (with visitation one hour prior to service). Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Spring interment in Bayview cemetery , Wiarton. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208 Wiarton will hold a memorial service Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund would be greatly appreciated. In living memory of Jim, a Mountain Ash tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

Reg Krueger
1930 - 2007

Krueger, Reg – of Wiarton, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family at his side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Saturday, March 17th, 2007. Reginald "Reg" Charles Krueger of Wiarton in his 77th year. Devoted husband of the former Dorothy Smith. Loving father of Jim and his wife Carol, of Wiarton. Beloved grandfather to Brittany and Kristen. Sadly missed by his sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents. Reg proudly served his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Station 30, Wiarton for 55 years, and through his partnership operating the Pro Hardware store on Berford St. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A service celebrating Reg's life will be conducted from the Zion-Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Cremation with interment in Colpoy's Bay cemetery. Members of the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Dept. will stand vigil in honour of Reg. Members of Cedar Lodge #396 Wiarton will conduct a Masonic Service at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Bruce Peninsula Sportsman's Association, the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department - Stn. 30 Wiarton or the Wiarton or Owen Sound Hospitals would be greatly appreciated. Carson “C.J.” John
1949 - 2007

John, Carson “C.J.” – of Saugeen First Nation, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 11th, 2007 in his 59th year. C.J. was the much-loved brother of Larry, Frederic, and Gene, all of Saugeen First Nation. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, and many friends. C.J. is predeceased by his mother Amy; brother Wilbert; and sisters Rosemary Lavalley, Gretta Foster, and Florence Johnson. Family invite friends to join with them for visitation at C.J.’s home (689 French Bay Rd., Saugeen First Nation) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate C.J.’s life will be conducted from the Saugeen Wesley United Church, Hwy. 21 on Monday, March 19th, 2007 at 2 o’clock. Rev. Maggie McLeod officiating. Cremation with interment in the Saugeen cemetery , Hwy. 21. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Medley, Jean – suddenly at North York General Hospital, Toronto on Monday, March 12, 2007. The former Jean MacLennan of Annan and Toronto in her 66th year. Loving wife of Keith for 37 years. Cherished mother of Ian, of Toronto; and Evan and his fiancée Fiona Dewar, of Ottawa. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will occur at Annan, Ontario. The family invites any relatives, friends and acquaintances to join with them for a service celebrating Jean’s life to be held later in the spring, likely in June (to be announced at a later date). Greig, Kenneth “Ken” – suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday, March 11, 2007. Kenneth Gerald Greig of Wiarton in his 83rd year. Loving husband of 60 years to the former Shirley Ferguson. Cherished father of Foster Greig (Elaine Grey), of Winnipeg. Ever remembered by his grandchildren, Erin and her husband Noel Gedineau; Laurin Greig and her friend Reuben; and Courtney Houston and her fiancé Steve Ognenov. Sadly missed by his brothers Winston, of Lion’s Head, Carm and his wife Eileen, and Stan, all of St. Thomas; and his sister Mary Stewart, of Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Esther; brothers Wilfred, Cecil, and John; sisters Bessie Blacklock, Helen King, and Mabel Meilhausen; and daughter Marsha Houston (2000). A celebration of Ken’s life will be conducted from the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. Rev. Pawis, Florence – suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services, Lion’s Head on Sunday, February 25th, 2007. The former Margaret “Florence” Chegahno of Lion’s Head and formerly of Cape Croker in her 83rd year. Cherished mother of Georgina (Jonah Elliott), of Cape Croker; Juanita Pawis, George Waukey (Mitch), Derrick Pawis, and Laura Pawis, all of Cornwall. Lovingly remembered by 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sister Norene Barr, of Mississauga; and her nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her parents Levi and Hattie Chegahno; brothers Peter and Mordick; sisters Margaret, Isabel, Grace and Rachel; a son Wayne; a daughter Lucy; two infant children; and her best friend and companion Rudy Waukey. Family will receive friends at the Maadookii Centre, Cape Croker on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service celebrating Florence’s life will be conducted from the Cape Croker United Church on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 1 o’clock. John Finlay officiating. Cherished mother of Evelyn (Richard Neily), of Kars, Ontario; Carol (Tom Beckett), of Hepworth; Michael, and Dave (Kathy Balls), both of Wiarton. Loving grandmother of Claire, Vanessa, Jennifer (Robert Mouillierat), Sean Coyne (Bobbi), Virginia and Ryan; and great-grandmother of Kate-Lynn, Jordan and Maddison. Dear sister of Flora (Jack Bryson), of Schreiber, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Arlie Rumley; a brother, James; and a sister, “Babe”. Loving wife of almost 58 years to George LaPierre. Cherished mother of Fr. George LaPierre CSB, of Sault Ste. Marie; and Laurie (Mrs. Scott Hay), of Owen Sound. Loving grandmother of Donnie Murray and Gregory Hay. Survived by her brother Jim Charlton (Nicki), and sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Ron Schamerhorn), and Bonnie (Mrs. Ron Playford), all of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her infant brother, Edward Charlton; and sisters, Grace (Mrs. Ray Puckett), Margaret (Mrs. Ted Keill), and Marie (Mrs. Gordon B. Brown). Greatly missed by brother-in-law Larry LaPierre (Pat); sister-in-law Marcella Gurney; and many nieces and nephews. Eileen O'Connell - of Wiarton peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, December 1st, 2008. Eileen Mae O'Connell (nee Hewitt) of Wiarton, and formerly of Kitchener, in her 87th year. Loving wife of the late Daniel O'Connell. Cherished mother of Maureen McNab, of Waterloo. Treasured grandmother of Craig McNab and his wife Michelle, and Heather McNab; and great-grandmother of Rachel and Jake. Sadly missed by her sister Linda Hendry and her husband John, of Waterloo; her nieces and nephews David and Lisa Hendry, Scott and Sherry Hendry, and Steven and Tanya Hendry; and her good friend Ed Lamka. Caring grandmother of April Lee Herron (Tyler), Carly Greig, Celine Greig, and Sawyer Greig; and step-great-grandmother of Brody Herron. Survived by 5 brothers; 1 sister; 3 brothers-in-law; and 3 sisters-in-law. Predeceased by her parents George and Emaline; 1 brother-in-law; and 1 sister-in-law.
