Phyllis Isaac
1921 - 2009

Isaac, Phyllis - peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on July 30th, 2009. The former Phyllis Mary Haines of Cambridge in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Isaac. Loving mother of Dave and his wife Suzanne, of Sauble Beach; and Rick and his wife Nora, of Shallow Lake. Cherished grandmother of Sean (Terra), Arron (Jess), Karena (Andy), Ellen, Beth, and Andrew; and great-grandmother of Fiona and Hudson. Dear sister of Hilda Moore, of Southey, Saskatchewan, and Ross Haines, of Raymore, Saskatchewan; and sister-in-law of Elizabeth Scott, of Cambridge. Special aunt to Fran and Bob; and dear friend to Andrea, Sadie, Amy, Muriel, and Irene. Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Ellen; brothers Alf, Frank and Hector; and nephews Scotty and Bill. A very special thank you to the nurses and staff of Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound; Dr. Suni Johnson and staff; staff of CCAC; Kathy Babin-Niven; and the Red Cross. Cremation has taken place. Family invite friends to join with them in celebration of Phyllis' life during a Memorial Service at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Cambridge (at Francis and Tait) on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at 10 o'clock. Interment in Mount View cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Arthritis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. 1960 - 2009

Nadjiwon, Mike - peacefully at his Cape Croker residence, surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 24th, 2009. Michael Lorne Nadjiwon at the age of 48. Loving father of Trisha LaValley (partner Chris Thompson), of Sauble Beach; Mike Nadjiwon (fiancee Fleasha Shilling), of Orillia; and Alicia Nadjiwon and Sonya Nadjiwon, both of Cape Croker. Proud grandpa of Averix Nadjiwon. Brother of Patrick Nadjiwon (partner Aurora Felix), of Toronto; Camilla Nadjiwon, of Cape Croker; Beverly "Bubbles" Nadjiwon, and Chantel Nadjiwon (partner Mark Boddy), all of Orillia. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Beverly "Buff", Katherine, Shenice, Odemin, Megis, Shane, Travis, Rodney, Gordy, and Daniel; cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Arnold and Rose (Johnston). Friends may call at the Cape Croker Community Centre on Monday and Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm, where a Catholic service will be held on Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at 2 o'clock. Interment in Little Port Elgin cemetery , Cape Croker. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life would be appreciated. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Diane Ginn
1952 - 2009

Ginn, Diane - bravely, after a long battle with cancer, at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Thursday, July 23rd, 2009. Diane Irene Ginn (nee Paulnitz) of Clavering and formerly of Kitchener at the age of 56. Cherished mother of Lexi Ginn-McGuinness and her husband Dennis McGuinness, of Clavering. Treasured gramma of Gavin and Darin. Sister of Debbie Floyd, of St. Catharines; Kate Paulnitz-Hartwig, of Kitchener; Linda Paulnitz-Welke and her husband Daniel, of Burlington; and Rob Paulnitz, of B.C. Beloved daughter of George and Irene Paulnitz. Sadly missed by Ken and Rose; Elaine Ginn; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and her many nieces and nephews, especially Crystal Paulnitz. Family invite friends to gather with them to share food and memories at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel, 51 Benton St. at Church, Kitchener (519) 742-4481 on Sunday, July 26th, 2009 from 1 - 4 pm, and then on Monday, July 27th at the Thomas C. Anne Jones
1931 - 2009

Jones, Anne - of Barrow Bay, suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, July 14th, 2009. The former Anne Louise Smith in her 79th year. Loving wife of William "Buck" Jones. Cherished mother of Mike and his wife Anne Andres-Jones, of Niagara Falls; David and his wife Karen, of Queenston; and Mary Ann and her husband John Enns, and Timothy and his wife Julie, all of Niagara on the Lake. Devoted grandma of Jonathan Enns (Julie), Julie Enns, Ryan Jones (Amy), Andrea Jones, Eryn Jones, Evan Jones, Megan Jones, Bryn Jones and Jessie Jones; and great-grandma of Brooklyn Enns. Sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Robert Jones (Hope), of Cambridge; and David Jones (Liz Wightman), of Welland. Predeceased by her parents Arnold and Nita, and her brother Richard Smith. Anne was proud to be a volunteer driver and canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society for more than 30 years, and will be forever remembered by her friends in the Barrow Bay Red Hat Society. Family invite friends to the family home, 81 South Barrow Bay Road, Lion's Head for a memorial gathering to share food and stories of Anne's life on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 from 2 - 5 pm. Friends are invited to join with the family on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at the Queenston Fire Hall, Queenston to reminisce and celebrate Anne's life from 2 - 4 pm. 1933 - 2009

Hessel, Julia - of Tobermory, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Saturday, July 11th, 2009. The former Julia Anna Kaye Young at the age of 75. Loving wife and best friend of Howard. Devoted mother of Sherry and her husband Tom Hughes, of Ignace, ON; Heather and her husband Herb Tutto, of Chestermere, AB; Carl and his wife Debbie, of Hanover; and John and his wife Kellie, of Kitchener. Cherished grandma of Carolyn Verrier and her partner Roger Martin; Tracy and her husband Chris Schmidt; Trevor Hessel; Mandy Hessel and her partner Jay; and Derek Hessel. Sadly missed by her brother Ted Young (Jacqueline), of Toronto; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her son Kenneth (1965); her parents William "Candy" and Evelyn Young; her brothers Harry, Bruce, Clayton, and Everett; and her sisters Thelma, Verna, Adeline, Jean, Vivian, and Betty. At Julia's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service to celebrate Julia's life will be conducted from Hanover cemetery at a later date. Travis Hill
1987 - 2009

Hill, Travis - of RR#3 Wiarton suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday, August 16th, 2009. Travis Benjamin Douglas Hill at the age of 21 years. Devoted son of Brian and Lorrie (nee Thomas), of RR#3 Wiarton. Caring brother of Kristina, of Wiarton. Cherished grandson of Doug and Joan Hill, of Wiarton, and Joan Thomas and the late Hugh (1983), of Owen Sound. Sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A service celebrating Travis' life will be conducted from Peninsula Shores District School, Wiarton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society would be appreciated.

1936 - 2009

Miller, Donald "Don" - of Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, August 17th, 2009. Donald Edward Miller at the age of 73 years. Loving husband of the former Anne Lorraine "Lorrie" Jordan. Cherished father of Cheryl (Doug Leis), of Wiarton, Philip (Lisa), of Stratford, David (Tracy), of Wiarton, and Mark (Rhonda), of Sudbury. Beloved grandfather of Natasha (Jay Gilbert), Jason Leis, Kyle Leis, Michael Miller, Ashley Miller, Nolan Miller, Emma Miller, and Ben Miller. Brother of Joan Steele, Marlene (Joe Brown), Michael (Sylvia), and Gordon (Barbara), all of Cheshire, England; and brother-in-law of Bruce Jordan (Sharon), of Southampton. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Bessie; a brother Philip; and brother-in-law Wally Steele. Don was a proud father; dedicated member of his church; gifted woodworker; first-rate gardener; and avid soccer fan. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Wednesday evening from 7 - 9 pm. Beth Chamberlain
1941 - 2009

Chamberlain, Elizabeth "Beth" - of Barrow Bay, surrounded by her loving family and clergy after a short battle with cancer at Golden Dawn, in Lion's Head on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009. The former Elizabeth Adams at the age of 68 years. Devoted wife and very best friend of Gary. Cherished mother of Sandi (David Burns), of London; Kate (Jeff Cook), of Dryden; Michael Chamberlain (Agatha), of Springford; Barbara (Dennis Pardo), of Blenheim; and Kelly (Mike Pos), of Nixon. Nanna of Andrew, Cameron and Ashleigh Burns; Cole Brown; Brittany Cook; Anthony Chamberlain (Kelly); Brandon, Kyle, Gary, and Stephen Chamberlain; Kaitlyn Chamberlain; Brooklyn and Skylar Pardo; Krista (Simon Lichach); and Adam Pos. Great-Nanna of Lilly Travis, Nevaeh Lesage-Roswell, Cyler Brown, Austin Chamberlain, and Morgan Lichach. Caring daughter of the former Midred Jones. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joan Hignett, Myrna (Rick Newstead), and Gordon Chamberlain (Virginia); and her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Brown (1988); her father Frank Adams (1996); mother-in-law Evelyn Chamberlain; and her brothers-in-law Rick Chamberlain and Alan Hignett. Beth was devoted to her church, volunteering as Lay Delegate to Synod and PPC Delegate. She gave of herself as Warden at Christ Church Anglican in Lion's Head for 5 years; and serving on Altar Guild, as a choir member and reader. Over the years she has also been member and President of Anglican Church Women (ACW) St John's Tillsonburg. Beth loved nature especially her gardens and her pets. Beth was a card carrying member of the Red Hat Society. Cremation has taken place. Her family invite friends to gather with them in celebration of Beth's life at Christ Church Anglican, Lion's Head on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 at 11 o'clock, with visiting one hour prior to service. Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Friends are also invited to a service on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at 1 o'clock at St. John's Anglican Church, Tillsonburg, with visiting one hour prior to service. Interment in Tillsonburg cemetery. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341. Donations to the Christ Church Anglican Memorial Fund or Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home Solar Panel Fund would be appreciated.

Ruth Hershey
1920 - 2009

Hershey, Ruth Eleanor - of Sauble Beach and Waterloo, suddenly but peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, August 10th, 2009. The former Ruth Eleanor Rush at the age of 88 years. Cherished mother of Rev. Stephen Hershey and his wife Dee, of Osoyoos, BC; the twins Brian of Cambridge; and Beverly, of Kitchener. Dear grandmother of Brett (Meghan Smith), Tim (Michelle Pickett), Morgan Jeanette Wismer (Dan Dietrich), Kaitlyn Ruth Wismer (Jordan Bonneville), and Samantha Ruth; and great-grandmother of Michele, Jade, and Curtis. Predeceased by her loving husband Rev. Sidney J. Hershey (2007) of almost 65 years. Ruth Eleanor was born in Woodford. She was a proud graduate of Owen Sound Collegiate Vocational Institute. During WWII she was employed at Queen's Park and met her husband, Flight Sergeant Syd Hershey. After three children, she entered teaching, specializing in Corrections. While raising a family, working full time, she was honoured with a Life Time Membership in the United Church Women, and completed a Bachelor of Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University. In 1964, a family cottage was purchased at Sauble Beach, and she began an active relationship at North Sauble Community Church. She loved the beach and assumed many leadership roles at the North Sauble Church. During retirement, Ruth and Syd spent their time in Florida, Sauble, cruise ships, and Waterloo. Their passion for square dancing continued as did her support of the United Church and her commitment to criminal justice issues. Family invite friends to gather with them in celebration of Ruth's life at the North Sauble Community Church on Sunday, August 16th, 2009, where a service will be held at 3 o'clock. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Lakeview cemetery , Meaford. A second memorial service will be held at Parkminster United Church, Waterloo at a date to be announced. Donations to the Community Justice Initiatives (Kitchener), or North Sauble Community Church (North Youth Club) would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041.

Peggy Johnson
1942 - 2009

Johnson, Margaret "Peggy" - of Sauble Beach, after a valiant battle with cancer at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday, August 9th, 2009. The former Margaret Eleanor "Peggy" Neville at the age of 67 years. Loving wife and best friend of Don for over 39 years. Cherished mother of Anesie Johnson-Smith and her husband Aaron, of Oakville and Terry Johnson, of Winnipeg. Devoted Grandma to Sydney and Parker. Sister of Kenneth Neville and his wife Judy, of Winnipeg and Dr. Barbara Yunker and her husband Dr. Gary Yunker, of Tennessee. Peggy will be missed by her niece and nephew Raegan Neville, and Ryan Neville and his wife Rhea. Peggy was a consummate entertainer, beginning her career on the Red River Jamboree, on CBC. As her popularity climbed, CBC introduced the Peggy Neville Show: this was the very first attempt at a colour television program broadcasting in Canada. Friends are invited to gather with the family at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, 814 Bruce Road 8, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Wednesday from 12 - 1 pm, where a service celebrating Peggy's life will be conducted in the chapel at 1 o'clock. There will be a private family interment in Zion cemetery , Hepworth. Donations to the GBHS Oncology Dept. or to Wiarton Hospital Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
