Eleanor Van Maanen
1941 - 2009

Eleanor (Miller, Lee) Van Maanen - of Tobermory, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, May 8th, 2009 in her 69th year. Loving mother of Rod Lee and his wife Shari, of Guelph. She will be sadly missed by every member of her large family; and be lovingly remembered by her many friends in Tobermory. Eleanor was a Great Lakes sailor (Second Cook) for many years, and is a former member of the SIU. After sailing she enjoyed her many years working with the Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living. In accordance with Eleanor's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Instead, she wishes that her family and friends gather in celebration of her life at the Tobermory Legion on Thursday, May 14th from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Crown cemetery , Puslinch will occur at a later date. Arrangements made at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341. Donations to the Tobermory Medical Clinic Auxiliary or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Barry Dunlop
1946 - 2009

Dunlop, Barry - of Wiarton, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Saturday, May 16th, 2009. Barry James Dunlop at the age of 63 years. Loving husband and best friend of the former Myrna Hatt for over 36 years. Cherished father of Gregory and his wife Irene, of Ajax, and Grant, of Wiarton. Beloved brother of Helen Smart (Duncan), of Owen Sound; Shirley Kernohan, of Scarborough; and Bonnie Barnes (Eric), of Ajax. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Allan Hatt (Joanne), of Ilderton; and his many nieces, nephews and fond friends. Predeceased by his parents Melvin and Irene; brother David Dunlop; sister Marion Matthews; and brothers-in-law Robert Kernohan, and Bill Matthews. Barry was a well known and beloved figure during his working career, remembered as that friendly face in the produce department of our local food store. He always had a ready smile and wave to cheer your day. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where a service to celebrate Barry's life will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. George Bell officiating. Interment in Bayview cemetery. The family would greatly appreciate donations to the Frank Street Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.

Wilda Kelly
1926 - 2009

Kelly, Wilda - of Owen Sound, peacefully at John Joseph Place on Friday, May 15th, 2009. The former Wilda Caroline Rourke in her 84th year. Loving sister of Bud Rourke and his wife Liz, of Owen Sound. Special aunt to Cathy and her husband Mike Kelly, of Ajax; Carrie and her husband Rob Currie, of Owen Sound; and the late David Rourke and his wife Marilyn, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Great-aunt of Adam Kelly and his wife Cilla, Jason Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Julia Rourke, Garrett Rourke, Elise Currie, and Chad Currie. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Eva. Wilda was a proud Royal Bank employee. As a teenager, she began her career as a teller at the Wiarton branch, and retired from Royal Bank Plaza, on Front Street, after over 40 years of dedicated service. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 for visitation from 10-11 am, where a service celebrating Wilda's life will be conducted from the chapel at 11 o'clock. Pastor Keith Sweeting officiating. Interment in Zion cemetery , Hepworth. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society Grey-Bruce would be appreciated. The family wish to acknowledge the thoughtful staff of John Joseph Place for the professionalism and compassion shown in caring for Wilda.

Frank Lenz
1928 - 2009

Franz "Frank" Josef Lenz - of Wiarton, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, May 11th, 2009. Franz Josef Lenz in his 81st year. Frank will be forever missed by Diane (nee Petrie) who was his dear friend for 20 years and has been his devoted wife for 20 years, sharing 40 years of friendship. Caring father of Ashley Lenz (Dierdre), of Los Angeles; Jeffrey Lenz (Alice), of Barrie; Tyson Schaff (Tracey), of Waterloo; Dieter Schaff, of Kitchener; and Shirley Lenz, of Bowmanville. Beloved grandfather of Fiona, Josef and Aidan Lenz, of Los Angeles; Jenna, Ivy and Ella Lenz, of Barrie; Ashley, Kayla and Tyson Jr. Schaff, of Waterloo; and Senoaha Lenz, of Bowmanville. Great-grandfather of Aubrey Schaff, of Waterloo. Brother of Theo Lenz and his wife Marta (and family), of Oberkail, Germany; Klaus Lenz and his wife Ria (and family), of Vancouver Island; and Maria Newmann and family, of Koln, Germany; and brother-in-law of Maria Lenz and family, of Oberkail, Germany. Son-in-law of John Feehan, of Grand Bend. Sadly missed by the very close friends that he was blessed to have in his life. Predeceased by his parents Nicolaus and Anna Katrina; his brother Johann Baptist Lenz; a brother-in-law Rudy Neumann; and his dear friend Robert Limpert. Frank was a proud and long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208, Wiarton; and a Past-President of the Wiarton and District Lions Club. Dear mother of Cindy and her husband Rick Day, and Cathy Hewitt, all of Wiarton, and Deanna and her husband Michael Vokes, of Shallow Lake. Grandma will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Michael Richardson; Ashley Richardson; Curtis and Tyler Hewitt; and Halley, Emily and Hannah Vokes. Devoted sister of Nancy Armstrong; and sister-in-law of Elaine Whetton, Bob and Vernice Richardson, and Wayne and Linda Richardson. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Clayton (1999); her parents Norman "Maj" and Doris (nee Schwartz) Whetton; her brother Bob Whetton (1995); brother-in-law Clare Armstrong (2008); and mother-in-law Sadie McLeod (2007). Loving husband of the late former Lorna Georgina Martin (2006). Cherished father of Ruth and her husband Alec McCormick, of Toronto; Patricia and her husband Lynton Strathdee, of Stouffville; and Steven and his wife Mary, of Sauble Beach. Loving grandfather of Jonathan, Katherine, Carolyn, Lynnea, Bryan, Brett, David, and Mark. Survived by his sisters Lyle Austin, and Nora Loughrey; brothers Victor Whyte (Murial), and Harry White (Eleanor); his brother-in-law Tommy Callaghan; and sisters-in-law Isa Whyte, and Rae Whyte. Predeceased by his sisters Marion Callaghan, and Meta Whyte; and brothers William Whyte, Jim Whyte, and Bertie Whyte. Friends may call at the THOMAS C. 1919 - 2009

Greig, Winston - Veteran of WWII - of Lion's Head and formerly of Wiarton, peacefully at Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home, Lion's Head on Sunday, June 21st, 2009. Winston Ernest Greig in his 90th year. Loving husband of the late former Iona Grace Vogan. Father of Gordon, of Burlington. Brother of Carm and his wife Eileen, and Stan, all of St. Thomas, and Mary Stewart, of Sarnia. Brother-in-law of Jackie Greig, of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and friends, especially Debbie Bartley and Freda Warder. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Ester; brothers Wilfred, Cecil, John and Ken; sisters Bessie Blacklock, Helen King, and Mabel Meilhausen; and his sister-in-law Shirley Greig. Winston served his country with great pride during WWII, stationed with the 4th Army Division. He was a Life Member of the Spirit Rock Lodge #312 IOOF Wiarton and member of the Royal Canadian Legion branches in Wiarton and Lion's Head. Friends are invited to gather at the Thomas C. Mickey Keeshig

Keeshig, Garnet "Mickey" -suddenly at Western Toronto Hospital on Saturday, June 13th, 2009. Garnet Alexander Keeshig at the age of 75 years. Loving husband of the late Iola Patricia Keeshig (nee Johnston - 1996). Cherished father of Vivian Desjardine and her husband Darrell, Patricia Keeshig and her husband Leighton Jones, and Randy and his wife Paula, all of Cape Croker. Devoted grandpa to Cory and Dayna Desjardine, Zachary Keeshig-Jones, and Keshia and Gene Keeshig. Brother of Donald Keeshig and his wife Keitha, of Cape Croker; Dorothy Mantila, of Orillia; William Cheghano and his wife Andrea, and Marina Fox, all of Cape Croker. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Marie Keeshig, and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gregor and Mary Keeshig; his adoptive parents John and Virginia Akiwenzie; his brothers Randolph, Eugene, Luke and Clarke; his sisters Delena Johnston, Clarty Nadjiwon, Rita Keeshig, Geraldine Jones, and Rosalyn Rodgerson; his sister-in-law Kate Keeshig; and his brothers-in-law Ray Nadjiwon, Ray Mantila, Orville Johnston, Jim Jones, and Burt Rodgerson. Mickey was a proud member of the International Union of Iron Workers Local 736 (Hamilton, Ontario). Beloved mother of Bob Walker (Betty), of Guelph; Mervyn Deakins (partner Connie), and Marie Rouse (late Ken, 1999), both of Wiarton; Barbie Deakins, of Owen Sound; Ricky Deakins (Ronda Mole), of Sauble Beach; and Larry Deakins (Cindy), of Wiarton. Cherished grandmother of Ashley, Ryan, Brent, Johnny, Tina, Dwayne, Rusty, Zack, Devin, Luke and Nathan; and great-grandmother of Kaley, Tye and Kendra. Devoted sister of Gord McCullough (Marlene), Cliff McCullough (Ruth), Allan McCullough (Donna), and Bonnie (Dennis Brady), all of Owen Sound.
