Pentney, Illa May, passed away, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Monday July 4, 2005. The former Illa May Tayles of Southampton and formerly of Thistletown, now known as Rexdale, in her 99th year. Wife of the late Robert (Bob) Pentney and daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Castator) Tayles. Beloved mother of 5 children, Robert of Southampton, Bernice Goodhead of Barrie, June and her husband Jack Fotherby of Southampton, Mary and her husband Mac McLeish of Washago and Penny MacDonald of Southampton. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother-in-law Charles Pentney and his wife Hilda of Manitoba. Predeceased by all her siblings, brothers, George, Armour and Noah, sisters, Arvilla Wilcox, Mildred Shepherd, Minnie Murihead, and Lillian Lougheed, by her son-in-laws, Jack MacDonald, Bill Lougheed and Alex Goodhead and by her grandson Norman. Illa was a Charter Member of the Burwick Women’s Institute of Woodbridge, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion Branch #286, Thistletown and was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Legion Branch #155, Southampton. During WWII Illa served as an Air Raid Warden in Thistletown. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, 234 Palmerston Street, Southampton, on Wednesday July 6, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday at 2pm. Reverend Margaret Greenhow will officiate. Funeral parking on the lot of Southampton United Church. Interment Southampton cemetery. Donation’s to Illa’s favourite charity, the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated as your Expression of Sympathy. Southampton Legion Branch #155, Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home 7:30pm Wednesday evening.

Husband of the late Marion McKechnie McGillivray (Lamont). Dear father of Byron of Edmonton, Ian of Toronto, Rod and his wife Lynda of Toronto, Elaine of Calgary and Yvette of Toronto. Dear brother-in-law of Kent Lamont of Port Elgin, Alex Lamont and his wife Wilda of Saugeen Township, Fraser Lamont and his wife Dorothy of Bruce Township, and brother-in-law of Eunice Emmerton of Bruce Beach and of Sheila Lamont of Brampton. Proud grandfather of Melissa, Daniel, Nathan, Alexander, Katherine and great grandfather of Dante and Sebastian. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, by his special friends of Hampton Court Villa and his many friends throughout the County of Bruce. Predeceased by his parents, J.D.and Mabel McGillivray, by his infant daughter, Brenda (1951), his sister Lillie and her husband Lloyd Brown and by his brothers, Harvey and his wife Rita and Wilmer. At Clarence’s request his body has been donated to Science. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Clarence McGillivray will be conducted in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Friday June, 20, 2008 at 2pm. Loving mother of Theresa and her husband Elmer Stewart of Southampton, Wendy Woodward of Port Elgin, Debra and her husband Tom Underwood, of Port Elgin and Peter Dotzenroth and his wife Barbara of Oshawa. Proud and loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Survived by her siblings, Betty Hearn, Lois Knowles, and Art Knechtel. Predeceased by her parents Clayton and Bernice Knechtel. Brown, Miriam Katherine, peacefully, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, July 18th, 2008, aged 93 years, at the Elgin Lodge Retirement Home, Port Elgin. She was predeceased by her husband Clarke, her sons, Rev. Douglas and Larry and by her parents, J. Wesley and Ethel Reinhart. Miriam is survived by her beloved sister Joyce Stow of Southampton and her grandchildren Margo Brown, Jennifer Nordeen, Monique Martin and Annelise Lovell. She will be fondly remembered by her four great grandchildren, step-son Bryan Jones, nephew Rick Stow, niece Nancy Stow, great nephew Stefan Pohl, two great nieces, the staff and residents at Elgin Lodge and by many cousins, neighbours, friends, as well as her special friend and caregiver, Valerie Fulham. Miriam will be remembered for her strong faith, zest for life, her terrific sense of humour and her fondness for her dog, Gordie. A Celebration of Miriam’s Life will be conducted at 11am on Saturday July 26th, 2008 in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton, with Reverend Allan Perks officiating.
