Entered into rest at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland on Thursday April 19, 2001 in her 75th year.

Twila Newburn of Midland, beloved wife of the late Jack Duggan. Dear mother of Lynda Bertram and her husband Dave of RR#1 Midland, John and his wife, Joanne of Midland and Shelley Edgar and her husband Terry of Waubaushene. Loving grandmother of Patti, Jennifer, Jill, Janice, Colin, and Shannon. Great grandmother of Quinton, Mackenzie & Brooklyn. Dear sister of Bob Newburn and his wife Mae.

Resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland on Sunday April 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday April 23rd at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Lakeview cemetery , Midland. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sleeping Children Around The World would be appreciated.

Ellwood Ernest Tucker. (Past District Governor of the Lion’s Club A1. Retired from BF Goodrich, Kitchener.) At his residence, Midland on Friday May 4, 2001 in his 88th year.

Beloved husband of Dorothy Roebuck. Dear father of Joan Weaver and her husband Ron of Elliott Lake, John and his wife Penny of Waterloo, Chris Tucker of Toronto, Nancy Contois of Stratford, and Dr. Bill Tucker and his wife Christine of Collingwood. Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Loving brother of Leona Brown of Midland, Audrey Swale of Cambridge, Margaret Neel and her husband Ward of Oklahoma, Frankie Allsopp of Midland, Kenneth Tucker and his wife Margaret of Orr Lake, Joyce Reid and her husband Milton of Sebringville, Gwynne Burn of Midland and the late Alvin, Elmer, Marjorie Wilson, Barbara Morrow and Jean Hebner.

Resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland on Sunday May 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday May 7th at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Shriners Hospital-Burn Unit would be appreciated.

Service under the auspices of the Victoria Masonic Lodge # 470 will be held in the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Dear brother of the late Everett, Melville (Red) and Olga Simpson. Loving uncle of Rita Gendron, Lynne Duval and Brian Simpson.

Resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home , 330 Midland Ave, Midland on Tuesday June 19th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 20th at St. Ann’s Memorial Church at 11 a.m. Interment Lakeview cemetery , Midland.

Memorial donations to Ontario Heart & Stroke Fund would be appreciated.

Parish Prayers will be held in the Funeral Home Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.

November 27, 1955 - June 18, 2001

passed away at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland on Monday June 18th, 2001. Don Buchanan of Port McNicoll, in his 46th year. Beloved husband of Kathy Jolie.

Dear father of Daniel at home. Stepfather of Christopher Jolie and his family of Vancouver, B.C. Son of Donald and the late Marie Buchanan of Midland. Brother of Frances and her husband Andrew Smith of Ottawa, Maureen Buchanan and her partner Imaan Bayoumi of Kingston. Brother-in-law of Carol and her husband Andrew Gray of RR #1 Port McNicoll, Michael Kopiec and his wife Kim of Lafontaine, and Bill Kopiec and his wife Karen of Victoria Harbor. Loving uncle of Cody, Matthew, Ameena, Bill Jr., Elizabeth, MacKenzie, Mckayla and Julia.

The family will receive friends at the Nicholls Funeral Home 330 Midland Ave., Midland on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Complete Funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Friday June 22, 2001 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated.

Lorraine Bernice MacKenzie
April 27, 1936 - July 28, 2001

After a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at her residence in Barrie with her family at her side on Saturday July 28th, 2001 age 65 years.

Lorraine Clare beloved wife of the late Forbes MacKenzie, formerly of Midland and Victoria Harbour. Dear mother of Stephen of Port McNicoll and Michelle & her husband Greg Quesnelle of Barrie. Loving grandmother of Stephenie and Chantelle. Sadly missed by her brother-in-law James Edward & his wife Winnifred MacKenzie of Calabogie, sister-in-law Betty & her husband Bill Michael of Detroit, Michigan and her loving aunt, Audrey Corbridge of Etobicoke.

Resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland on Monday July 30th from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday July 31st at 1:30 p.m. Interment Lakeview cemetery , Midland.

At the Penetanguishene Hospital on Friday July 27th, 2001 in her 91st year. Mary Jane Charlebois of Midland, beloved wife of the late Marcus Doucette.

Dear mother of Velma St. Amand and her husband Gord of Sault Ste. Marie, Shirley Denis and her husband Joseph of Midland, Diane Carruthers and her husband Dave of Midland, Barbara Beausoleil and her husband Leo of Port McNicholl and the late Adele Mahue. Lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Rita Charlebois and her companion Bernie Breton of Midland and the late Marie, Cecile and Ernestine Charlebois, Lorette Pauze, Cecile Fortin, Paul, Albert and Pat Charlebois. She will be sadly missed by her niece Patsy Charlebois and many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland on Sunday July 29th, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday July 30th, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Church, Midland. Interment St. Margaret’s cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Huronia Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit). Parish prayers will be held in the Funeral Home Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m.

Merza Isabel Annie Gilmore (nee French)
July 25, 1915 - August 7, 2001

Died peacefully in her 87th year at the Villa Nursing Home in Midland, Ontario on Tuesday, August 7, 2001.

Beloved wife of Thomas Gilmore and the late Woodrow McConnell.

Loving Mother of Jean Hewitt; James McConnell and his wife Linda; Harry McConnell and his wife Anita; and Mary Patterson. Mother-in-law of Robert McKenzie. Stepmother of Anne Ross. Pre-deceased by daughters Donna and baby Anne Louise and by son-in-law Lewis Hewitt. Remembered by 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of Agnes Quinlan (wife of the late Ray Quinlan); and of the late Royce French and his wife Kaye.

The family will receive friends at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland, Ontario (705-526-5448) on Thursday, August 9, 2001 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 308 King Street, Midland on Friday, August 10, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. with burial at the Waverley United Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The Villa Volunteer Services or The Alzheimer’s Society.
