Priest and Pastor of St. Ann’s Memorial Church of Penetanguishene from 1964 to 1993 at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland on Tuesday October 9th, 2001 in his 89th year.

Beloved son of the late Ferdinand & Asselie Dignard. Dear brother of Juliette Naughton of Warminster, Alfred Dignard of Toronto, Arthur Dignard & his wife Celeste of Penetanguishene, Frank Dignard of Port McNicoll and predeceased by Antoinette Stone, Mary Snow, Alphonse, Michael, Dominic and Alex. Lovingly remembered by many nieces & nephews.

The late Father Louis Dignard will be resting at St. Ann’s Memorial Church, 18 Robert St. West, Penetanguishene on Thursday October 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Memorial Church, Penetanguishene on Friday October 12th at 11 a.m. Interment St. Ann’s cemetery , Penetanguishene.

Memorial donations to St. Ann’s Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Evelyn Beatrice Dillon

Dear mother Gloria Beaudoin of Toronto, Barbara Genier & her husband Gerard and Neale Dillon & his wife Anita all of Penetanguishene. Loving grandmother of Glenn, Dayle, Brian, Robin, Rebecca, Colette, Pierre, Nicole, David, Danielle, Jennifer-Lynn, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marc Parent, Raymond Parent, Marie Dubeau, Isabelle Forget all of Penetanguishene and predeceased by Dora Devaney, Hazel Gaudette, Adam, Peter, Laurence, Russell, Art & Zotique.

Resting at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Penetanguishene on Friday, March 1st from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Memorial Church, Penetanguishene Saturday, March 2nd at 11 a.m. Spring interment St. Ann’s cemetery , Penetanguishene. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Ladies of St. Ann’s of Penetanguishene are requested to meet at the funeral home for prayers Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Daughters of Isabella are requested to meet at the funeral home for prayers Friday evening at 7 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

In his 89th year, after a brief illness passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Thursday December 20, 2001. Survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Theresa. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Anna & her husband Richard and his son Karl & his wife Donna. Cherished Pappa to Lisa, Andrea, Janice, Nick and Christine. Mr. Dix is at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home “ROBINSON CHAPEL” (King Street East at Wellington) Hamilton 905-522-2496 where the family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 260 Herkimer Street (At Locke St.) Hamilton on Saturday December 22, 2001 at 1 pm. Cremation to Follow. If so desired, Remembrances to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. A special Thanks to the Staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Vukasin Djurdjevic
October 16, 1928 - January 09, 2000

Peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2000 at the hamilton General Hospital, Vukasin in his 72nd year.
Beloved husband of Nadezda. Loving father of Rajko and his wife Angie, Rada and Zorka.
Very proud grandfather of Jelena, Kristina, Jovan and Natalie. Dear Uncle of Bogosav.
Vukasin will be sadly missed by his cousins Radmila Matovich, Peter Djurdjevic and their families. Also survived by Kumovi and many friends and family in Canada and Serbia.

Vukasin was a long standing Member of St. Nicolas Serbian Orthodox Church, Royal Yugoslav Combatants Association and Serbian Brothers Help.

Vukasin retired from Stelco after 30 years of service.

Visitation will be at the L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME 151 Ottawa St. North (544-1147) on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Pomens at 8 pm Funeral Service on Wednesday from St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church (1415 Barton St.) at 11am with the Very Reverend Father Vojislav Pavlovic officiating.

Interment will take place at Woodland cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Nicolas Serbian Orthodox Church.

Dr. Samuel Joseph Dolin
August 22, 1917 - January 13, 2002

Dr. Samuel J. Dolin passed away January 13, 2002. He leaves his loving wife Leslie, children Elizabeth & John, Kathryn & Guy, sister Brenda & grandchildren Phoebe & Josephine.

As a highly respected composer/teacher, he contributed greatly to the musical life of this country. His 52 years at the Royal Conservatory, Toronto, produced many of today’s finest composers. As a composer his accolades include the distinguished Olympiad Award from Helsinki, 1952, where his Serenade for the Strings was the only North American composition performed.

Special thanks to everyone at Huronia District Hospital, Toronto General Hospital & Hospice Huronia for their care.

A private service was conducted by the Reverend Nina Fulford. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations to the Dr. Samuel J. Dolin Scholarship Fund, R.C.M. would be appreciated and will be received by the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland, Ontario, L4R 3K7.

Sheila Mary Doughty (née Cowan)
July 16, 1928 - November 18, 2001

It is with great sadness that the family of Sheila announces her passing on November 18, 2001 at the age of 73. Finally at rest after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Beloved wife of Norman. Predeceased by her daughters Jean and Geri to breast cancer, and so desperately missed by her surviving daughters Rosemary, Linda and Fiona. Grandsons Dan, Andrew, Aaron, Adam, Tim, Michael and Brian, and sons-in-law Jim and Greg. Mourned by her surviving brothers and sisters in Ireland and England, Brian, Rory, Roddy, Gary, Omar and Deirdre and Geraldine.

To all her many friends, our thanks for your wonderful support of Sheila and your many expressions of love: She loved you all.

Viewing at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road W. (one block east of Kerr St.) Oakville (905-842-2252) on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Jude’s Church, 160 Williams St. Oakville (905-844-3972) on Thursday, November 22, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Sheila has requested cremation and a private family interment at Milton Evergreen cemetery.

Pat Douglas (née Munro)
April 08, 1900 - October 10, 2001

Peacefully at Kensington Village where she lived for 11 years, Pat Douglas (Munro) in her 102nd year on October 10, 2001. She lived in the Westmount area for 10 years and was formerly of Stratford, Ontario, where she was born on April 8th, 1900. Pat was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. George Munro.

She graduated from Toronto General Hospital, School of Nursing in 1923. She moved to New York City in 1927 and lived there for over 50 years. She worked at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre for many years. Her husband Robert Carrick Douglas of Lucknow predeceased her in 1955. Mrs. Douglas is survived by her 3 children, a son and daughter in law Robert and Carol Douglas of Chapel Hill N.C. formerly of London, a daughter and son in law Mary Joyce and Richard M. Hughes of Annadale, Va.and a daughter Diana Douglas of New York City. She will be fondly remembered by her 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by a sister in law Mary Munro of London. Her brother George Munro of London passed away last year.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home 1559 Fanshawe Park Road (East of Highbury) on Friday October 12, 2001 at 4 pm with visiting one hour prior. Rev. Lynne Williams Officiating. Interment Saturday Oct 13, 2001 at 11 am at Avondale cemetery Stratford, Ontario.

Elke Helene Drews
September 12, 1948 - September 17, 2000

passed away at her home on Sunday September 17th, 2000 with her family at her bedside to be in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ forever and ever.

Elke Feuersenger, beloved wife of Gunther Drews. Loving mother of Sascha – Oliver and his wife Samantha of Toronto and Marc- Edward and his wife Marie of Midland. Dear grandmother of Isaiah Drews.

Survived by her half sister and half brother in Germany.

The family will receive friends at the Pentecostal Church, 170 Eighth St., Midland on Friday September 22nd from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Burial at Lakeview cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Life Outreach International would be appreciated and will be received by the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave, Midland.
