Joan Westley-Lapointe, 69 years, peacefully with her family by her side on November 6, 2004. Predeceased by her first husband Howard Westley (1989) and beloved wife of Ray Lapointe. Dear mother of Randy Westley, Debbie Webb and Ian Wilson, Danny and Barb Westley, Susan and Al Heath, Bonnie and Larry Laporte, step mother to Serge and Janice Lapointe, Sue and Doug Rumble, Linda and Larry Rabidoux. Loving grandmother to Michelle, Christine, Lisa, Tom, Sara, Charlie, Melissa, Amanda, Chelsey, David, Westley, Troy, Lauren, Larry, Steven, Jamie, Mike, Trevor, Kelly and Ashley. Sister of Lorna and Ken Malott and Jack and Jeanette Pitre. Predeceased by son-in-law Frank Webb. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.with parish prayers at 8 p.m.. The funeral procession leaves Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 9:15 a.m. from the Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame Street, Belle River, (728-1500) to St. William Church, Emeryville, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Joan Westley-Lapointe in the Melady Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 25, 2005. All are welcome.

Beloved husband of Doreen Henderson (Forrester). Predeceased by his first wife Mary (1988). Sadly missed and cherished by his daughters Judy (Mike) Burke of Kentville, N.S, Cheryl (Brian) Lynch of Cornwall, ON, Kathryn (Gary) Lalonde of Glen Nevis, ON, and step-daughters Penney (Blaine) Holden of Stratford, ON and Cathy Forrester of London. Loved by his grandchildren Michelle, Andrew, Lauren, Allison, Aaron, Sean, Adam and Christine. Fondly remembered by other family members and friends. Loving mother of Roger (Callie) Wenger, Joel (Karen) Wenger, Jack (Clara) Wenger, Linda (Dave) Sonley, Danny Wenger, Michael Wenger. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of Quinn, Christopher and Hayley. Dear sister of Guy Pichon of France. Shannon Amber Leigh York

Tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident on Friday, July 30, 2004.

Shannon is survived by her parents Tom and Karen York, her brother Justin and her sister Holly. She will be sadly missed by her Nana Mary York and her Grampa Alf Brady. Loving niece of John York Jr., Sandy and Don Miller, Randy and Lynn York, Michael York and Debbie Ames, Joanne Longshaw and Greg Brady. Dear cousin of Tiffany, Tim, Ayren, Jeff, Tasha, Meagan, Amanda, Tyler, Jeff H., Fiona, Hannah and Mia as well as Susan Lethbridge, Andy Mattice, Michael and Jeremy Kean.

Friends will be received at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "THORNTON CHAPEL" 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, August 2nd from 7-9 P.M. and on Tuesday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, August 4th at 1:00 P.M. Interment at Highland Memory Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, Toronto. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Tim Horton's Children's Foundation or the Autistic Society would be appreciated.

Survived by his sons Bill Koolstra of Cornwall, Henry Koolstra of Toronto, Harold Koolstra and Halina of Kitchener and Chuck Koolstra of Kitchener. Grandfather of Candy of Newfoundland and Jeff of Edmonton.

Friends will be received at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount) 519-743-8900 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Sunday. Funeral Service in the Chapel 10 am Monday morning. Interment in Parkview cemetery , Waterloo.

Mary I. (Wells) Ward (née Snelgrove)

Died peacefully at her home on June 13, 2004. Loving wife and best friend of Jim Ward. Mother to Daryl J. Wells (Joyce) and Wendy Wells (Kevin Naysmith). Grandmother to Brandon and Kiefer, sister to Bill Snelgrove (Grace) and their children Mike and Anne, sister at heart to Margaret Temple.

Predeceased by Sally MacDougall (Larry), a cousin, sis and friend. Will be sorely missed by the slot machines, land and sea.

Mary enjoyed life to the fullest, always cherishing family and friends. The family welcomes friends to celebrate Mary's life at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, 109 Reynolds St., Oakville, 905-844-3221 on Tuesday July 27th, 2004 at 1 p.m.

Mr. Norman Andrew Moore
August 19, 1923 - July 16, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of Norman Moore announces his peaceful death on Friday, July 16, 2004, in his 81st year, following a long illness. Son of the late George and Ethel Moore. Predeceased by his loving wife, Rita Moore (nee Roche). Greatly missed by son Paul and his wife Liana of Burlington and daughter Linda and her husband Gordon Blake of Kitchener. Much loved grandfather of Jacob and Liam Moore and Shannon and Colin Blake. Loving brother of Florence Green of Thunder Bay and the late Edgar Moore. Cherished brother-in-law of Mary Forrester of Hamilton, Marie Roche of London, England, Mary Moore of Guelph and Kathleen Roche of London, England. Norman's gentle, kind way will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Norman was born in Fort William, Ontario. He enlisted in the RCAF on March 23rd, 1942 and was attached to the RAAF, 456 Squadron stationed in England, where he was responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of onboard radar systems for Mosquito night fighters. He met Rita Roche at a dance in London, England in 1945. Norman returned to Canada in October, 1945. His fiancé, Rita Roche, joined him in Fort William in 1948, where they were married in July of that year. Norman attended the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1951 from the Honours Math and Physics program, Radio Physics option. He worked as a design engineer and then manager for 33 years for Northern Electric (later Northern Telecom) in Belleville, Ontario, retiring in 1984. He was an amateur radio enthusiast (VE3 NFD) and an active member and president of the Quinte Amateur Radio Club. During his life he enjoyed camping, bowling and curling, and being with his family. He also enjoyed his poker and investment clubs. In recent years, he attended the reunions of the WWII radar veterans, which brought him great joy. Although quite ill, he attended his last reunion in Ottawa in May of 2003, where he was a part of the opening of the exhibit at the Canadian War Museum honouring the tremendous contributions of the radar veterans. Thank you to Norman's friends and neighbours, especially Michael and Marie Durling, Connie McCullam and Carolina McArdle, for their support and caring that enabled him to stay in his home over these past years. Thank you to the teams of health care workers at Belleville General Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto and Freeport Health Centre in Kitchener for their compassionate, professional care and support through the past five months. Also thank you to Fr. Bernard O'Neill of St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Belleville, and Fr. Bill Trusz of St. Mark Catholic Parish in Kitchener, for their comforting words and special prayers for Norman and his family. Friends are invited to call at the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church St., Belleville, Ontario on Tuesday, July 20th, from 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating Norm's life will be held on Wednesday July 21st, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 399 Victoria Avenue, Belleville, Fr. O'Neill officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Cremation with interment in Belleville cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norman may be made to The Lung Association or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
