WARD, Deborah (Betty) - At the Wellington Terrace, Elora, on Sunday July 14, 2002. Betty Ward (nee Knowlson), in her 83rd year. Loving wife of the late Norman Ward (2001). Beloved mother of Bill Ward and his wife Lu and Karen Stephens and her partner Karen; dear grandmother of Shane, Ryan, Meaghan and Caitlan. Rested at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, followed by private cremation. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Guelph Wish Fund for Children would be appreciated by the family.

CUDNEY, Ben - Peacefully, at Wellington Terrace, Elora on Sunday, July 14, 2002, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Edith (1985). Dear father of Lloyd and his wife Rosalie, Darlene Koster, Linda and her husband John Bennett and Brenda and her husband Fred. Also loved by grandchildren, Jeff, Michelle, Danielle, and Nicole and great-grandchildren, Courtnay and Tristan. Predeceased by an infant daughter, Shirley; brothers, Wilfred, John and Fred and sisters, May, Mable, Alice and Vadie. Friends will be received at the Thompson - Jeffrey Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street North, Fergus on Wednesday (today) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Thompson Chapel on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kees Vandermey of Knox Elora Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment to follow at Belsyde cemetery , Fergus. PRITCHARD, Allan Beattie - At Groves Memorial Community Hospital, on Thursday, July 18, 2002, Allan Beattie Pritchard, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Martha; dear father of Ron and his wife Pat. Also loved by his grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Adam and Jessica. Predeceased by a son, Fred (1995). Friends will be received at the Thomson-Jeffrey Funeral Home, 160 St. David St. N., Fergus today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 325 St. George St. W., (at Tower St. N.), Fergus on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 11 a.m., with Ray Pearse officiating. WHITE, Margaret Irene (Scarrow) - On July 21, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer, Margaret, of Eden Mills, Ontario, passed peacefully into the Lord's arms, during her 58th year. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Ron; her children, Cheryl and Robin Inscoe of Georgetown, Bill and Rose of Acton, Greg and Kirsten of Oakville, Jeff and Lisa of Guelph, Chris of Guelph, Graham and Steven of Eden Mills and five sisters and brothers, Jim and Shirley Scarrow, June and Clare McLean and David and Carolyn Scarrow of Oakville, Evelyn and John Facette and Peter Scarrow of Alberta, Mary and Alex Robertson of Hamilton and Marilyn and Dave McKinnon of Owen Sound, Charles and Judy Scarrow of Peterborough, Cheryl and Jim Poulin of Toronto and John of Georgetown. Eight grandchildren, Derrick and Amy Inscoe, Emily, Carly, Madison and Tyler White and Jason and Todd Schonnop. The cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, July 25 at 2 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, 1215 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville. Our sincere thanks to Dr. McWilliam and Dr. Bailey, all the staff on the 4th floor at Guelph General Hospital and all our friends at Lear Corporation, Oakville for their kind prayers and support. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Margaret's memory with our thanks.

SWALES, Jean Robertson (nee Scott) - Peacefully, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in her 95th year. Loved and missed by her son, Run Sunter and his wife Donna of Guelph. Grandma will be remembered by Mairi Sunter of Barrie and Ian Sunter of Guelph. Survived by her sister Isabel Simmers of Rathillet, Fife, Scotland. TATHAM, Anela (nee Suter) - Passed away, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, on Friday, July 26, 2002, aged 83 years. Anela was the Sheriff's Secretary at the courthouse in Sackville, N.B. and a secretary at the Mount Allison University. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Ron Tatham, whom she married in July of 2001. Also missed by her children, Michael Greenberg of Quebec City, Wendy Blanchard of Yarmouth, N.S., Budd Greenberg of Oxford Mills and Robin Raab and her husband Werner of Salem. Grandma will be missed by her seven grandchildren. Remembered by her step-son, Paul Tatham and his three children. Predeceased by her daughter, Gail Scott of Fergus. Cremation has taken place. AWCOCK, The Reverend Canon Alec Mervyn - Peacefully, after a long battle with cancer, at Oxford Lodge, Guelph, on Monday, July 29, 2002. The Rev. Canon Alex Mervyn Awcock, in his 73rd year, was the son of the late Alec and Thelma Awcock of Drummondville, Que. He is survived by his sister, Anne Elop and her husband Gordon. Predeceased by his sister, Valerie Bodger and her husband Ernest. Beloved uncle of Judy (Les), Rick (Mary), Gary (Chris), James, Stephen (Nancy), Rosemary (Brent) and Kevin (Tracy) and all their families. He is also survived by his step-sisters, Joan Holton, Jill Conrad and Dorothy Knispel. Mervyn served in the Diocese of Quebec for 38 years in many parishes and was also the Diocesan Archivist. After retirement he served as an Honourary Assistant at St. James the Apostle Church in Guelph where he was also the church archivist. Rested at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph. At Mervyn's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Mervyn, will take place on Thursday, August 8, 2002 at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church (86 Glasgow St. N., Guelph) at 11 a.m., with The Rev. Canon Trudy Lebans officiating.
