HOWITT, James Francis - At Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, on Saturday, November 2, 2002, at 88 years of age. James Howitt was the beloved husband of the late Constance Howitt. He is survived by his son, Jim and his wife Micheline and his daughter, Geraldine. Jim is fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, David, Micheline and Miguelle. He is survived by his brothers, Angus, Thomas and Douglas and by his sister, Margaret Clair. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brothers, John and Frank and by his sisters, Mary Larsen and Grace Marshall. Jim was a Second World War veteran and flew with the RAF in Squadron 242. He was an OAC 1938 graduate and worked for most of his life with the Guelph Board of Health, later Wellington Dufferin Unit. He enjoyed fellowship through the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234 and the Army Navy Air Force Club. He supported his community with several years on City Council and many years keeping our Thanksgiving Road Races going. The family wishes to thank Drs. Howitt, Traplin and Jichici and the nurses of 4 East for their caring attention.
