FAIRLESS, John Richard "Star" - passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital, Guelph on Sunday, December 1, 2002. Star Fairless at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Mary Fairless of Guelph. Dear father of John (Ted) Fairless and his wife Doris of Cambridge and Douglas Fairless and his wife Noreen of Guelph. Loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandsons. Predeceased by his brothers Wilfrid and Edward. Star had a great passion for fishing and was a member of the Col. John McCrae Branch 234 Royal Canadian Legion. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Guelph General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).

SHELTON, Christopher James - Died tragically, in Toronto, on Friday, November 29, 2002, at the age of 23. Beloved son to David Shelton (Toronto) and Theresa Shelton (Guelph). Loving step-son to Helena Shelton. Loving brother and hero to Jesse and Nicki. Cherished grandson of Rosaleen and Walter Shelton (Nanaimo) and Marilyn and the late Roland Alston (Kitchener). Chris will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris promised himself to Tiffany Merritt (Etobicoke). Born on May 12, 1979, Chris was a student at University of Toronto and a bartender. He was an enthusiastic golfer, chef and a loyal friend to many in the Beaches and East Toronto. Friends may call at the SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Rd (west of Victoria Park Ave.) Toronto (416-698-2861) Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. John's Norway Anglican Church (470 Woodbine Avenue) on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment St. John's Norway cemetery. DI GRAVIO, Mario - Passed away, at Guelph, Ont., on Saturday, November 30, 2002. Mario Di Gravio, in his 39th year, was the beloved husband and best friend of Anna Maria (nee Maiocco) and was the devoted father of Laura, Eric and Rachael, all at home. Beloved son of Luigi and Iolanda Di Gravio of Guelph and dear brother of Dr. Bruno Di Gravio and his wife Susan of Waterloo and Manuela Basciano and her husband Rino of Guelph. Mario is lovingly remembered by his grandfather, Enrico Di Renzo. His greatest joy was the time spent with his family and friends and he is dearly missed by his parents-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sister-in-law. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Monday, December 2, 2002 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Mario will be held at the funeral home today (Monday) at 4 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 11 a.m. Entombment, Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, or to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Loving mother of Elizabeth Lindsay and her husband Bob of Guelph, Michele Paterson and her husband Paul of Toronto. Loved grandma of William (Lesley), Stephen (Taushau) and Christine (Tyler). Always remembered by her nieces, Mary Glanville of London, England and Sylvia Anderson and her husband Don of Hastings, Ontario. Predeceased by her three sisters and two brothers. ROGERS, Judith Elizabeth "Judy" - passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at the St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph, on Wednesday, November 27, 2002. Judy (Effer) Rogers, at the age of 45 years. Beloved wife of Stewart Rogers for 21 years. Loving mother of Amanda Rogers of Ottawa and Adam Rogers of Guelph. Only daughter of Millie (Effer) Berry and step-daughter of George Berry. Remembered fondly by four step-sisters; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her brother, Michael Effer (1979) and her father, Robert Effer (1985). Always remembered by his mother-in-law, Marg Mitchell, his sisters-in-law and their families, his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was a huge hockey fan and player, as well as an inspiration. MACPHERSON, Nancy Roberta "Nan" - Suddenly, at home, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years William (Bill) MacPherson (1997). Beloved mother of Patricia, and Don Reid, Fred, Beverly and Warren Sommer, Douglas, and Mary Enid Haines, Gilian, Sheila and Mike McWade. Cherished Nana of Ryan and Heather McWade, Robert Gibbs, Sarah and Stuart MacPherson. Sadly missed by Dudley Gibbs, and faithful walking companion Gracie. Nan leaves behind many family and friends who were the recipients of her kindness, generosity and humour. A member of the Canadian Women's Army Corp., Nan served proudly in England during the Second World War. Many people will remember Nan for her community involvement and volunteer work. A celebration of Nan's life will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Arboretum Centre, University of Guelph. CARSON, Marie Frances - Passed away, peacefully, in Vancouver, B.C., on November 24, 2002. Predeceased by her husband, Roy and survived by Roy's three sons, Michael, Edward (Joyce) and Douglas; her only brother, Wilfred Bruder (Dorothy) and sister-in-law, Mable Bruder; many nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by many loving friends. Mass of Christian Burial to take place at St. John the Apostle Church, 5457 Trafalgar (at 39th Ave.) Vancouver, Friday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 a.m., Father Richard Gagnon celebrant. O'CONNOR, John L. (Buck) - At Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, November 28, 2002, John L. (Buck) O'Connor, in his 76th year, was the beloved husband of Dolores (Harrison) O'Connor. He was the loving father of Deborah and her husband Ralph Bennett, Kerria and her husband Peter Hammond and John T. O'Connor and his wife Sandra, all of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Susan and her husband Jeff Howes of Hamilton, Stacey Goble and John Paul O'Connor and his fiancee Jamie Plummer, all of Guelph and great-grandfather of Samantha and Tanner Howes. Sadly missed by his cousin, Fred O'Connor and his wife Brenda of Guelph. John was predeceased by his sister, Shirley O'Connor (1977) and by his parents, John and Doris (Livesey) O'Connor. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends today (Saturday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation. GORRELL, Margaret Lauretta - Tragically as a pedestrian in an automobile accident in Guelph on Monday, passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, November 21, 2002. Margaret (Ernst) Gorrell at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Ernie Gorrell. Loved mother of Lindsay Gorrell and his wife Cheryl of Ottawa, Alison Crane and her husband Rodger of Guelph, Fraser Gorrell and his wife Sue of Georgetown, Texas, Brock Gorrell of Mallorytown. Always remembered by her grandchildren Bryan Gorrell and his wife Barbie of Chicago, Illinois; Elissa Hainsworth and her husband Michael of Austin, Texas. Dear sister of Viola Heins and her husband Harold, Nelson Ernst, all of Lansing, Michigan; Barbara Duerholt and her husband Peter of Calgary, the late Howard and Lloyd Ernst and Lily Adamthwaite. William served in Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve from 1941-1945 and worked at Imperial Tobacco for 45 years.
