SMITH, Nelson Wilkinson - Peacefully, at Marycrest Home, Peterborough, on Saturday, February 22, 2003, in his 85th year. Nelson, beloved husband of Rachel Hamblett. Loving father of Diane Krause and her husband Peter of Grand Valley, Ont., David and his wife Darlene of Peterborough and Janet Smith of Kitchener. Beloved grandfather of Diana Baggett (Mark), David (Rosie Obert), Dan, Linda Sage (Lee), Grant (Christine Patterson) and great-grandfather of Andrew, David, Geoffrey, Mark, Andrew, Danielle, Luke and Nicole. Dear brother of Harry "Bud" Smith of Brantford. Friends are invited to call at the Kaye Funeral Home 'Memorial Chapel', 539 George St. N., Peterborough, on Wednesday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Service of Remembrance on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

HUBER, Linda Sharleen - At her home at R.R. #5, Guelph on Tuesday, April 8, 2003. Linda Huber at the age of 57 years. Beloved wife of Eric Huber. Loving mother of Penny Ann Dollery (Bill) of Guelph, Frank Huber (Paula) of R.R. #22, Cambridge, Jon Huber of Guelph and Jason Huber (Danielle) of R.R. #5, Guelph. Loved grandma of Joel, Brianne, Whitney, Jordan, Codey, Jayme and Alannah. Dear sister of Ezma Weedmark of R.R. #1, Beachburg; Bob Howard (his wife, Nancy); Mervin Howard (Coleen), all of Kitchener; Barry Howard (his wife, Loretta) of Saskatoon; Danny Howard of Nanaimo, B.C.; Jim Howard (Brenda) of Union, the late Ellsworth Howard, Dearie Seigel and Faye Brooks. Predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Viola Howard. Always remembered by her mother-in-law, Alberta Huber of Hanover. Along with Eric, Linda was the co-founder of Huber Window Cleaning. SYROTEUK, Cazmere - The tragic death of Cazmere "Kayo" Syroteuk, of The Burr District, South of Humboldt, Sask., occurred, accidentally, on Monday, March 24, 2003, on the Church Hill River at Otter Lake. He was 69 years of age. Kayo will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by five sisters and five brothers, Emily Dodd of Lanigan, Sask., Mike Syroteuk of Kamsack, Sask., Mary (Bill) Kobzey of White Rock, B.C., Joe (Mary) Syroteuk, Bernadette Knaus, Louise (Cyril) Hale and Delores McKeown, all of Humboldt, Sask., Leonard (Rita) Syroteuk of Guelph, Ont., Mervyn (Jean) Syroteuk of Creston, B.C., and Louis Syroteuk of Plunkett, Sask.; sisters-in-law, Gladys Syroteuk and Alice Syroteuk, both of Humboldt, Sask., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Annie (nee Paproski) Syroteuk; two brothers, Walter and John; one nephew, Glen Dodd; sister-in-law, Valentina Syroteuk and three brothers-in-law, Edward Dodd, Paul McKeown and Edward Knaus. Funeral Mass was offered from St. Augustine's Church, Humboldt, Sask. Internment followed at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic cemetery in the Wolverine District Southwest of Humboldt.

MITROW, Alexander - At 80 years of age, passed away, on April 11, 2003, in Tecumseh, Ont., formerly of Guelph. Beloved husband of the late Tatiana (April 11, 2001). Loving father of Victor Mitrow and wife Barbara of London and Helen and husband Jim Tolmie of Tecumseh. Dear grandfather to Natalie, Laura and Kathryn (Mitrow), Andrew, Gregory, Jeffrey and Michael (Tolmie). Predeceased by three brothers. Dear brother-in-law to Susan Wisz of New Jersey. A private family service was held at the Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh, Ont. (519-735-2830). Interment took place at St. Anne cemetery in Tecumseh. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Alexander Mitrow in the Marcotte Memorial Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 28, 2003. All are welcome.

MOUNTFORD, Georgina Paula (nee Vorvis) - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Saturday, April 12, 2003, in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Joseph W. Mountford. Dear sister of Mary Lou (Howard) Meatte of Michigan, Betty Blum of Mississauga, Bill (Helen) Vorvis of Guelph and Jack (Pauline) Vorvis of Mississauga. Also survived by brother-in-law, Sid Mountford of Oshawa, sister-in-law, Verna Mountford of Guelph, many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Paul and Elaine Vorvis. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Tuesday) (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.) Funeral service will be held, at St. George's Church, 99 Woolwich St., Guelph, Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at 12:30 p.m., with Fr. Marinos Constantine officiating. Interment Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. Memorial contributions to the Homewood Foundation, 150 Delhi St., Guelph N1E 6K9 would be appreciated. MOUNT, Mildred - Passed quietly, on April 8, 2003, in her 82nd year, at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Douglas; son, Dale and his wife Tina and grandchildren, Erika and Sarah. A memorial service will take place at Sharon Hope United Church, 18648 Leslie St., Sharon, on Tuesday, April 15 at 3:30 p.m.

PARTITO, Ethel (nee Hodgson) - After a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, April 9, 2003, beloved wife of 52 years to Sam Partito. Predeceased by her daughter, Linda and recently her son, David. Also four brothers and one sister. Survived by her daughters, Ruth Hasselwander and husband Bernhard of Guelph, Diana Briand and husband Greg, Nelda Ibele, Laura Mccarl and husband Walter, all of Kitchener; her sister, Rose Bennett of Vancouver and grandchildren, Dan, Jesse, April, Brett, Krista and Jeff. Cremation has taken place. Please extend sympathies at the Blue Water Funeral Home, 201 Suncoast Dr. E., Goderich, Ont. Loved Nono of Kelly, Colleen, Brian, Ashley, Leanne, Deanna, Danielle, Nicole, Chad, Lee, Dana, Kristen and Brennan. Dear brother of Lena Tessaro and her late husband John, Bruna Cavasin and her late husband Charles, all of Guelph, Mary Melancon and her husband Raymond of Southampton, Anthony (Tony) and his wife Sheila, Anita Fraser and husband Archie, Orlanda (Laonda) and her late husband Frank Burke and the late Lino Pagnan and his wife Hilda and the late Bruno Pagnan and his wife Leah, all of Guelph. Rested at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph on Friday, 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning April 12th, (today) to St. John's Church for funeral mass at 11 o'clock. Interment Marymount cemetery. Vigil for Angelo was held on Friday at 3 o'clock. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Grand River Dialysis would be appreciated by the family.

BIRRELL, Phil - At Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, on Sunday, April 13, 2003, Phil Birrell of Hillsburgh, in his 66th year. Beloved husband of Joy. Loving father of Veronica Johnston of Lexington, Kentucky, Al Birrell and his wife Joanne of Waterloo, and Jacquie Birrell of Keswick. Devoted grandpa of Jennie and Kyle. Dear son of Maisie Birrell. SINCLAIR, Catherine Pearl (nee McEnery) - Passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Sunday, April 13, 2003, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband, Stanley M. Sinclair (1993). Pearl is survived by her children, William Sinclair of Stayner, Mac Sinclair of Kanata, Alan Sinclair of Elora and Sheila Hamilton of Acton. Mother-in-law of Joan, Helen, Nancy, and Paul. Grandmother of Lissa, Bill, Bob, Kim, Gina, Ian, John, Paul, Katie, Ellen and Laura. Great-grandmother of nine. Also survived by sister, Alma Sinclair of Georgetown. Sister-in-law to Grace McEnery of Acton, Florence and Ross Huxley of Guelph and Elsie Crymble of Toronto. Predeceased by a brother, Jessie McEnery. Dear mother of Howard and his wife Phyllis, Margaret and her husband John Collett, all of RR 1, Ariss, Jerome and his wife Wendy of Guelph and Carolyn and her husband Daniel Stemmler of RR 1, Ariss. Fondly remembered by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Anna and her husband Alvin Schmidt of Guelph and the late Clarence Moyer, Laura Meadows, Edwin Moyer and Alphonse Moyer. KEARNS, Stephen Peter (Steve) - Of Guelph, passed away, at the Guelph General Hospital, Friday, April 11, 2003, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Blanche (nee Piper). Stephen is survived by his son Dr. John Kearns of Tillsonburg; daughter-in-law Carol and grandchildren, Lindsay, Michael and Barbara all of St. Catharines; sister, Mary Glover of Kingston; and brother John Kearns of Oshawa. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Sophie (Stoiko) Kearns; sister, Anne Hawtin; and brothers, Bill and Michael Kearns. Stephen was born in Galt, Ontario in 1916 and was raised in Toronto. He began his military career in 1942 and served with the RCA during the Second World War; retiring from the RCAF, after 30 years service, as a Chief Warrant Officer - Class 1; and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Col. John McCrae Memorial Branch No. 234, Guelph. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Monday 1-2 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Monday, April 14, 2003 (today), at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Emmy Beauchamp officiating. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre).
