Jeanne D'Arc Gendron

We regret to announce the death of Jeanne D'Arc Gendron on December 6, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing at the age of 77 years. She is predeceased by her husband Etienne Gendron. Jeanne D'Arc Gendron is survived by 5 daughters: Hélène DelGuidice wife of Paul, Jocelyne Gendron, Ghislaine Vallière wife of Gérald, Clarice Aubin wife of Jean-Paul, Laurette Sutcliffe wife of the Late Kevin Sutcliffe all of Kapuskasing, 3 sons: René of Niagara Falls, André husband of Diane of Kapuskasing, Laurent of Brampton, 2 sisters: Suzanne Lepage of Kapuskasing, Gisèle Jensen of Kapuskasing, 2 brothers: Victor Millette of Moonbeam, Benoit Millette of Hearst as well as 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on December 9, 2000 at the Notre Dame des Victoires Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Rémi Sigouin

We regret to announce the death of Rémi Sigouin on November 16, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 71 years. He is predeceased by his father; Albert, one son; Pierre, three brothers; René, Jean-Léon, and Benoit. Rémi Sigouin is survived by his wife; Jacqueline of Opasatika, his mother Hélèna Sigouin of Kapuskasing, three daughters; Louise Isabelle wife of Roland of Opasatika, Denise Fortin wife of Yvon of Kapuskasing, Lise Kozlovich wife of Steve of Val Rita, three sons; Raymond husband of Alice of Opasatika, Roger husband of Michelle of Hearst, Rhéal husband of Angèle of Opasatika, one brother; Antonio Sigouin of Kapuskasing, two sisters; Irène Brunet of Kapuskasing, Gisèle Dorval of Opasatika, as well as 16 grandchildren. Funeral service was held on November 18, 2000 at the St Antoine de Padoue Church in Opasatika. Burial followed at the Opasatika cemetery.

Jeannine Neron

We regret to announce the death of Jeannine Neron on November 15, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 68 years. She is predeceased by her husband Florian, one daughter Lyne Neron and one brother Marcel Blanchette. Jeannine Neron is survived by2 sons; Denis husband of Denise of Earlton, Gilles of Moonbeam, 2 daughters; Diane Lavoie wife of Pierre of Moonbeam, Francine Neron of Kapuskasing, 2 sisters; Fleurette Moncion of Iroquois Falls, Noella Ouellette of Cochrane, one brother; Gaetan Blanchette of Fauquier, 1 sister-in-law; Jeannine Boucher of Fauquier as well as 7 grandchildren. Funeral service was held on November 17 at the Nativite de Marie Church in Moonbeam. Cremation followed at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Marie-Paule Gagnon

We regret to announce the death of Marie-Paule Gagnon on November 12, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 74 years. She is predeceased by her parents; Elzéar and Marianne Gagnon, as well as her brothers and sisters; Germain Gagnon, Philippe Gagnon, Alphonse Gagnon, Marguerite Duguay, Paul-Henri Gagnon, Marie-Rose Cormier, Alexandre Gagnon, Carmina Hébert, Antoinette Gravel, Irène Migneault, and Jeanne-D'Arc Gagnon. Marie-Paule Gagnon is survived by two sisters; Émilie Thibodeau, Bernadette Paradis both of Kapuskasing, as well as many nephews and nieces. Funeral service was held on November 16 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Donations to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

Henry Lodin

We regret to announce the death of Henry Lodin on November 12, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 65. He is predeceased by two sisters; Noella Barron, Patsy Chénard as well as his parents Gustav and Elizabeth Lodin. Henry Lodin is survived by his wife Huguette of Kapuskasing, four daughters; Doris friend of Don Manns of Hamilton, Julie Mitron wife of Normand of Hallébourg, Jo-Anne Lodin friend of Kirk Mateev, Gail Lodin-Hince wife of Daniel all of Kapuskasing, hree sisters; Marguerite Brisson of Casselman, Alice Brisson of Val Coté, Diane Breton of Mattice, one brother; Arthur of Hearst as well as 6 grandchildren; Tim, Mindy Faith, Kyle, Jonathan, and Joshua. Funeral service was held on November 15 at the Notre Dame de la Piax Church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Sensenbrenner Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Benoit Leblanc

We regret to announce the death of Benoit Leblanc on November 6, 2000 at the Extendicare Nursing Home in Kapuskasing at the age of 92 years. Benoit Leblanc is predeceased by 2 brothers; Emile, Marc, and 1 sister; Irène Lang. He is survived by one sister; Blanche of Windsor and one brother Albert "Ti-Coon" of Kapuskasing. Cremation was held at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson.

Marcelle Cécile Proulx(née Credger)

We regret to announce the death of Marcelle Cécile Proulx on November 5, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 58 years. Marcelle Cécile Proulx is predeceased by her husband René Proulx, and her father Joseph Credger. She is survived her mother Cécile Credger of Moonbeam, 3 sisters; Hélène Credger of Timmins, Pierrette Bouchard of Nipigon, Gisèle Murray of Elora, 2 brothers; Jean-Guy Credger of Moonbeam, and Robert Credger of Chelmsford. Funeral service was held on November 8 at the Notre Dame de la Paix Church with Father Roger Pronovost officiating. Burial followed at the Moonbeam cemetery.

Louis Henri Dufresne

We regret to announce the death of Louis Henri Dufresne on November 5, 2000 a the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 69 years. He is pre deceased by two brothers; Victor and Aurel as well as one sister; Marie-Luce. Louis Henri Dufresne is survived by his wife; Évangeline, one son; Michel husband of Cheryle of Kapuskasing, three daughters; Diane Roy wife of Rémi, Nicole Depape wife of Marcel Grzela, Cécile Dufresne wife of Glen Benson all of Kapuskasing, five brothers; Armand, Raymond, Georges, Jean, and Gilles all of Kapuskasing, five sisters; Madeleine Bilodeau, Carmen Guillemette, Cloette Dufresne all of Kapuskasing, Jackie Fincham of British Columbia, Aline Hickey of Los Angeles as well as six grandchildren; Marc, Tina, Linda, Kevin, Jesse and Steve. Funeral service was held on November 8 at the Immaculée Conception Church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Alex Mair

We regret to announce the death of Alex Mair on November 4, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 66 years. He is predeceased by his daughter Mona-Jean and 1 sister Isabelle Forsberg. Alex Mair is survived by his wife Georgina, 4 sons;Alex Jr. husband of Susanne, Gerry husband of Claire, Charles all of Kapuskasing, Neil companion of Micheline Dupuis of Timmins, one daughter; Lou-Anne Mair of North Bay, one sister; Elenor Butler of Timmins, one brother; James of Timmins, as well as 8 grandchildren; Whithney, Wade, Lindsay, Tasha, Tanner, Chelsea, Matt and Alyx. Funeral service was held on November 7 at the St Patrick's Church with Father Léo Papineau officiating. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Clément Garand

We regret to announce the death of Clément Garand on November 2, 2000 at the Laurentian hospital in Sudbury at the age of 64 years. He is predeceased by his brother Germain. Clément Garand is survived by his wife Juliette, son: André husband of Edith Doyon of Kincardine, daughter Edith Bisson wife of Daniel of New Castle,sisters; Doris Chouinard wife of Henri of Woburn, Diane Leclaire wife of Eli of Florida, Nicole Latté wife of Bill of Maine, Monique and Claire Garand both of Levis, and Thérèse Garand of Montreal, brothers; Donat husband of Cécile of Earlton, Léandre husband of Jeannette of Sherbrooke, Gérard of Forest Fall and Gaston husband of Rolande of Lac Mégantic. Mr Garand had four grandchildren; Emilia, Alexandre, and Yanique Bisson and Penelope Garand. Father Roger Pronovost directed the funeral service at Notre Dame des Victoires Church in Kapuskasing. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Anita Gaulin

We regret to announce the death of Anita Gaulin on November 3, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 96 years. She is pre-deceased by her husband Léon in 1945, one infant, one daughter Bertha Nolan, one son Arthur and one son-in-law Léandre Godin. She is survived by four daughters: Marcelle Godin, Marcienne Landriault wife of Georges, Marguerite Valliere wife of Laurent all of Kapuskasing, Suzanne Lebrun wife of Octave of Gatineau, four sons: Valérien husband of Cécile of Notre Dame du Laus, Lucien husband of Joanne of Kapuskasing, Bertrand husband of Rollande of L'Ange Gardien, Henri of Waterloo, two sisters: Aline St Pierre of Amos, Cécile Lavoie of Montmagny, one brother: Maurice Coulombe of Tachereau, one daughter-in-law Léonie Gaulin of Kapuskasing, as well as 40 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Monday November 6, 2000 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Louise Payant

We regret to announce the death of Louise Payant on October 28, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 50 years. She is survived by her husband René, her mother Irène Lepage, 2 daughters: Sylvie Payant friend of Leonard Bowes, all of Kapuskasing, Mélanie of Timmins, 1 son: Marcel friend of Marie-Josée Couture of Kapuskasing, 8 sisters: Réjeanne Boudreau, Claudette Lepage, Lorraine Lepage, Ghislaine Marchand, Gemma Dumais, Dolores Rodrigue, all of Kapuskasing, Diane Lepage, Evelyne Lepage of Timmins, 3 brothers: Martial Lepage, Paul-Emile Lepage of Kapuskasing, Camille Lepage as well as 3 grandchildren: Sabrina, Véronique, and Cynthia. Louise Payant was pre-deceased by her father Marcel Lepage, 2 sisters: Yollande and Marieanne and 1 brother Gabriel Lepage. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was at the Hillcrest Crematorium.

Denis Mainville

We regret to announce the death of Denis Mainville on October 27, 2000 at the Smooth Rock Falls hospital at the age of 52 years. He is survived by his wife Claudette of Smooth Rock Falls, his mother Irène Mainville, 2 sons: Yvan husband of Angèle, Jino husband of Josée, 1 daughter Brigitte Graine wife of Guy all of Smooth Rock Falls, 3 sisters: Irène Goulet of Strickland, Jeannette Cloutier of Smooth Rock Falls, Denise Mainville of Timmins, 8 brothers: Raymond of Sarnia, André of Strickland, Maurice of Dryden, Rhéal of Smooth Rock Falls, Claude of Sarnia, Paul of Smooth Rock Falls, Yvon of Smooth Rock Falls, Réjean of Chapleau, as well as 2 grandchildren: Jonathan and Matthew. Denis Mainville was pre-deceased by his father Augustin, 1 brother: Norman and 1 granddaughter Vanessa. The funeral service was held on October 30 at the Ste Gertrude Church in Smooth Rock Falls. Burial followed at the Smooth Rock Falls cemetery.
