DUGUAY, Rhéal, Joseph, Olivia
DUGUAY, Rhéal, Joseph, Olivia - 1921-2003 In loving memory of Rhéal Duguay who passed away peacefully at the West Nipissing General Hospital, Friday, January 10, 2003 in his 82nd year. Cherished husband of the late Claire Galipeau-1996. Left to treasure his memory are his children; Raymond (Sylvia) of Val Caron, Marie Robert of North Bay, Ronald (Lorraine) of Sudbury, Alice (Dezi Perrier) of White Court, Alberta, Jean of North Bay, Guy of Sturgeon Falls and Gérald of Sturgeon Falls, Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; Jean-Baptiste and Marie Duguay, by his son Fernand-1979, and by 9 brothers and sisters. Rhéal is a veteran of WWII which he served from 1939 to 1945, he then went to on to work for K.V.P. (Eddy Forest Products) for many years and then became a counsellor for Canadian Manpower. Rhéal is also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225 in Sturgeon Falls. At his request there will be no visitation or service. Expressions of sympathy may be done by a donation to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the THEORET FUNERAL HOME in Sturgeon Falls.

FAIRBAIRN, Alice Madeline
FAIRBAIRN, Alice Madeline Alice passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on Sunday, January 5 at the age of 90. She had been a resident of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the past year and previously lived at Catherine Place in Winnipeg. Alice was born in Massey, Ontario in May 1912, and later moved to Toronto where she spent most of her life. In Toronto, she was active in her church and an enthusiastic member of several bowling leagues until well into her 80’s. Alice is survived by her son Nelson Kelcey (Barbara) of Winnipeg, grandsons Brian Kelcey (Toronto) and Sean Kelcey (Gagetown, N.B.), brother (Nelson) Harry Fairbairn of Sudbury and sister Dorothy Spooner (Milford) of Lee Valley, ON. Alice’s wishes were that her cremated remains be buried in the family plot in Massey. A memorial service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Espanola, ON at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2003. Arrangements entrusted to KLASSEN FUNERAL CHAPEL, Winnipeg, MB (204) 338-0331.

FISCHER Doris (Pylatiuk)
FISCHER Doris (Pylatiuk) On Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, at 71 years of age. Beloved wife of Nick Fischer. Loving mother of Dana (Raymond) Romanish and Terry (Nancy) Kozemchuk. Cherished Baba of Adrian and Ulana. Also missed by Nick’s daughter Monika (Don) Gins and family. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her many brothers, sisters, their families and friends. Doris was born in Saskatchewan. She spent many years in Sudbury with her late husband Terry Kozemchuk. She was an active member of St. John Ukrainain Catholic Church and Past President of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Sudbury. Mrs. Fischer is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 10:30 am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours are Sunday 7-9 pm and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Memorial remembrances to St. john Ukrainian Catholic Church or Hotel Dieu Hospital Oncology clinic would be appreciated by the family.

GULLIVER, Sharon Lee Sharon
GULLIVER, Sharon Lee Sharon Gulliver died peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2002 with her husband by her side at North Bay General Hospital. Sharon (Guitard) was the beloved wife of John Gulliver of Powassan. She was the loving mother of Michael Gulliver (Janet) of Pembroke, Donna Turgeon (Michael) of Corbeil and Tara Aultman (Brian) of Powassan; and grandmother of Caitlin, Kelsey, Michaela, Nicholas, Tayler, Jordan and Marcus. She was the dear daughter of Leo Guitard of North Bay and the late Leona (Frechette), and sister of Marilyn Potvin (Jack), Donald Guitard (Rachel) and David Guitard (Sandy) all of North Bay. Family and friends are invited to share in the loss and celebrate the life of Sharon at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a special service of tributes and prayers in the funeral home at 8:30 pm. The family will also receive visitors at St. Joseph’s Church in Powassan on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am with Father Paul Hickey celebrating Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in the church. Spring interment St. Joseph’s cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

HRELJAC, Branka (nee Ivankovic) In loving memory of Branka Hreljac, 98 years of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday evening, December 21, 2002 at Finlandia Koti, Sudbury. She was born in Croatia and married Mathew Hreljac in Croatia January 28, 1927. One of the pioneer residents of Creighton, Branka lived in the community from 1929 to 1972 when she moved to Sudbury. She enjoyed bingo, especially playing with her friends Matti and Gushta. An excellent cook she was happiest when the family gathered for dinner at her house. Branka will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, taking great interest and pride in her family’s activities and accomplishments. Daughter of Branko and Kristina Ivankovic predeceased. Beloved wife of Mathew Hreljac predeceased 1966. Loving mother of Emil "Hurlie" (wife Arletta) of Lively, John (wife Maureen) of Barrie, Mary (husband Lou Fazekas) of Sudbury, Frank (wife Karen) of Windsor, Vic (wife Beth) of Mackey, Edward (wife Pauline) of Sudbury, Lillian (husband Ed Dmytrasz) of Mississauga and predeceased by four children. Cherished grandmother of Bob (wife Faye), Ed (wife Debbie), Alan (wife Jennifer), Chris, Dan (wife Marie), Ramona (husband Graham), Glenn, Frank (wife Ann), Janice (husband David), Lorrie, Robbie, Stephen, Cathy, Louis, Christopher, Mark (wife Sue), Cameron, Jane (husband Don), Ross, Kerry Lee (husband Mike), Ted (wife Debbie), John, Jim (wife Patricia), Christine (husband Gord), Steven and 31 great-grand- children. Special godmother of Walter Saftic (wife Mary). Will be sadly missed by her brother Milan Ivankovic (wife Julia) of St. Louis, Missouri and by many relatives in Crotia. Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Garson, Friday, December 27, 2002 at 11 am. Interment in Sudbury Roman Catholic cemetery. Beloved husband of Claire of Sudbury and Pearl (predeceased 1998). Loving father of Irene (husband David Leclair) of Calgary, Annie (husband Norm Seguin) of Hanmer and Reggie (wife Anne) also of Hanmer. Special stepfather to Monica (husband Richard Charron) of Chelmsford and Perry (wife Yvonne) of Australia. Dear son of Edward and Maria (St. Laurent) Leroux (both predeceased). Proud grandfather of David, Jessica, Stephanie, Michelle, Melissa, Jessica, Kelly, Tracy, Jamie, Melissa, Adam, Tyler, Sydney, Sue, Sheldon (predeceased) and Steve. Cherished great-grandfather of Austin and Tyson. Dear brother of Fern (of Sudbury) (wife Lorette predeceased), Ida (of Sudbury) (husband Bill Lapoint predeceased), Rita (husband Walter Huzij) of Spring Bay, Claire (husband John Dominique) of Sudbury, Shirley (husband Larry McAllister) of Naughton and Jerry (predeceased). Sadly missed by many nephews and nieces. Armand was well known in the area and was well liked by all who knew him. He was a big man with a gentle nature and warm smile. Corkey will be missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, R.J. Barnard Chapel, 233 Larch St, Sudbury, on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 3:00 pm. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. (Friends may call at the Chapel after 2:30 pm on Saturday). KOSMERLY, Joseph "Joe" In loving memory of Joseph Kosmerly, 90 years, who passed away Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Extendicare Falconbridge. Born in Yugoslavia, he married Jane in Sudbury in 1941. He came to Canada in 1932 and lived for many years at 349 Burton Avenue. He worked in the bush and then as a miner at INCO Frood Mine for 39 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club and the Mine Mill Union. Beloved husband of Jane (Dever) Kosmerly predeceased 1976. Loving father of Josephine (husband Joe Suklje) of Toronto, Jack (wife Margaret) of Val Caron, Janice (husband Richard Burke) of Ottawa, Jerry (wife Judy) of Val Caron, and Robert predeceased. Good companion of Annette Brisebois of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Jack Jr., James, Jessica, Jodi, Jenny, Jaye, Stacey, Shawn and great-grandchildren Hayden, Tayte, Shaylin, Casey and Sylkin. Dear son of Joseph and Mary Kosmerly both predeceased. Dear brother of Mirko of Yugoslavia, predeceased by Tony, Frank, Ivan, Mary and Ivanka. Sadly missed by family overseas. KASJAN, Jaroslaw "Jerry" In loving memory of Jaroslaw Kasjan, 76 years, who passed away Saturday morning, January 11, 2003 at his residence. Loving husband and best friend of 52 years of Adele Kasjan of Sudbury. Dear brother-in-law of Amanda Radke, Frida Radke, both of Vernon, B.C., and Nora Bitner of St. Johns, B.C. Special uncle of Kurt Miller of Atikoken, ON. Jerry was a miner at INCO for a number of years before retiring in 1985. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and socializing with his dear friends and neighbours. Jerry was known as a "happy go lucky" man and always had a smile to share. JONES, Kathleen (Mckay) passed away on January 4, 2003 at Caressant Care, Fergus at age 81. Predeceased by her husband Hector (1972). Loving mother of Doreen of Coniston (husband Keith), Leonard of Acton (wife Karla), William of Vancouver, Mark of Georgetown (wife Louise), and Darlene of Amherstview (husband Thomas). Predeceased by her parents Bruno Owen McKay and Isabelle Chenette, sisters Dorothy, Lila, Violet, Isabelle and twin sister Irene; brothers Tommy, Mickey and Lawrence. Survived by sister Maudie Ferguson of Sardis, B.C. and brother Roy McKay (wife Eileen) of South porcupine. Loving grandmother of Valerie, Clifford, Sandra, Sopie, Deborah, Melanie, Billy, Kim, Darryl, Cathy, Tawnya, Tristan and Tory. Loving great-grandmother of Matthew, Tyler, Jessica, Thomas and Tiernan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Mass of Christian memorial will be at St. Joseph’s Parish, Acton, at 12 noon Friday January 10, 2003.

Beloved wife of Richard (predeceased 1959) and mother of Bill (predeceased 1998), Frances Ann (Douglas predeceased 1987), Lloyd (Adrianne) and Leona. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Scott (Dora Lynn), Richard (Marie-Anne), Eldon (Carolyn), Sharon Colleen (Mike predeceased 2002), Howard and Lee. Loving great-grandmother of Devon, Cassondra, Emma, Hannah, Abby and Anthony. She was an employee of the Sudbury General Hospital for over 18 years. Cremation has already taken place and there will be a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January, 16, 2003 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Sudbury. Reception to follow. Donations to the Heart and Soul Campaign would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME.
