DUGUAY, Rhéal, Joseph, Olivia - 1921-2003 In loving memory of Rhéal Duguay who passed away peacefully at the West Nipissing General Hospital, Friday, January 10, 2003 in his 82nd year. Cherished husband of the late Claire Galipeau-1996. Left to treasure his memory are his children; Raymond (Sylvia) of Val Caron, Marie Robert of North Bay, Ronald (Lorraine) of Sudbury, Alice (Dezi Perrier) of White Court, Alberta, Jean of North Bay, Guy of Sturgeon Falls and Gérald of Sturgeon Falls, Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; Jean-Baptiste and Marie Duguay, by his son Fernand-1979, and by 9 brothers and sisters. Rhéal is a veteran of WWII which he served from 1939 to 1945, he then went to on to work for K.V.P. (Eddy Forest Products) for many years and then became a counsellor for Canadian Manpower. Rhéal is also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225 in Sturgeon Falls. At his request there will be no visitation or service. FAIRBAIRN, Alice Madeline
FAIRBAIRN, Alice Madeline Alice passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on Sunday, January 5 at the age of 90. She had been a resident of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the past year and previously lived at Catherine Place in Winnipeg. Alice was born in Massey, Ontario in May 1912, and later moved to Toronto where she spent most of her life. In Toronto, she was active in her church and an enthusiastic member of several bowling leagues until well into her 80’s. Alice is survived by her son Nelson Kelcey (Barbara) of Winnipeg, grandsons Brian Kelcey (Toronto) and Sean Kelcey (Gagetown, N.B.), brother (Nelson) Harry Fairbairn of Sudbury and sister Dorothy Spooner (Milford) of Lee Valley, ON. Alice’s wishes were that her cremated remains be buried in the family plot in Massey. FISCHER Doris (Pylatiuk) On Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, at 71 years of age. Beloved wife of Nick Fischer. Loving mother of Dana (Raymond) Romanish and Terry (Nancy) Kozemchuk. Cherished Baba of Adrian and Ulana. Also missed by Nick’s daughter Monika (Don) Gins and family. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her many brothers, sisters, their families and friends. Doris was born in Saskatchewan. She spent many years in Sudbury with her late husband Terry Kozemchuk. She was an active member of St. John Ukrainain Catholic Church and Past President of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Sudbury. Mrs. Fischer is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 10:30 am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours are Sunday 7-9 pm and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. GULLIVER, Sharon Lee Sharon Gulliver died peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2002 with her husband by her side at North Bay General Hospital. Sharon (Guitard) was the beloved wife of John Gulliver of Powassan. She was the loving mother of Michael Gulliver (Janet) of Pembroke, Donna Turgeon (Michael) of Corbeil and Tara Aultman (Brian) of Powassan; and grandmother of Caitlin, Kelsey, Michaela, Nicholas, Tayler, Jordan and Marcus. She was the dear daughter of Leo Guitard of North Bay and the late Leona (Frechette), and sister of Marilyn Potvin (Jack), Donald Guitard (Rachel) and David Guitard (Sandy) all of North Bay. Family and friends are invited to share in the loss and celebrate the life of Sharon at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a special service of tributes and prayers in the funeral home at 8:30 pm. The family will also receive visitors at St. Joseph’s Church in Powassan on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am with Father Paul Hickey celebrating Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in the church. HRELJAC, Branka (nee Ivankovic) In loving memory of Branka Hreljac, 98 years of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday evening, December 21, 2002 at Finlandia Koti, Sudbury. She was born in Croatia and married Mathew Hreljac in Croatia January 28, 1927. One of the pioneer residents of Creighton, Branka lived in the community from 1929 to 1972 when she moved to Sudbury. She enjoyed bingo, especially playing with her friends Matti and Gushta. An excellent cook she was happiest when the family gathered for dinner at her house. Branka will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, taking great interest and pride in her family’s activities and accomplishments. Daughter of Branko and Kristina Ivankovic predeceased. Beloved wife of Mathew Hreljac predeceased 1966. Born in Yugoslavia, he married Jane in Sudbury in 1941. He came to Canada in 1932 and lived for many years at 349 Burton Avenue. He worked in the bush and then as a miner at INCO Frood Mine for 39 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club and the Mine Mill Union. Beloved husband of Jane (Dever) Kosmerly predeceased 1976. Loving father of Josephine (husband Joe Suklje) of Toronto, Jack (wife Margaret) of Val Caron, Janice (husband Richard Burke) of Ottawa, Jerry (wife Judy) of Val Caron, and Robert predeceased.
