ADA WEAVER (nee CHAPMAN) Following a courageous battle with cancer in her 73rd year, peacefully at her home. Lovingly remembered by her husband Vernon, her daughter Stephanie and her son Philip, her daughter-in-law Dawn and her grandsons: Cody and Jessie. She will be sadly missed by her brother Vernin and his family, Harold and his family, Elwood and Lila and their family, Paul and his family, Ross and Faith and their family, sister June, brother-in-law Jack and their family. Predeceased by her father and mother, Alex and Hazel Chapman; three sisters: Mary, Lois and Donelda. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2001 at Woodland Hills Church, CA. Donations may be made to Houghton Brethren-In-Christ Church, or charity of your choice.

Cooper, Claire Ebony - Born into God's care at the McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton on Wednesday, July 25th, 2001. Infant daughter of Kent and Stacy Cooper of Simcoe. Beloved granddaughter of Leven and Tina Pitre of Simcoe and Stan and Joyce Cooper of Tillsonburg. Dear great granddaughter of Marian Ryan of Simcoe and Stafford and Leona Pitre of New Brunswick. Dearly loved by her aunts; Tracy Kozma and her husband John of Alberta; Chris Bye and her husband Steve of Tillsonburg and one uncle, Kevin Cooper and his wife Bonnie of Tillsonburg as well as many cousins. Baby Claire will be laid to rest with her great grandpa Clarence "Ron" Ryan. A private family graveside service will be held at the Oakwood cemetery , Simcoe on Thursday, August 2nd, 2001 with Rev. Gene Templemeyer officiating. Memorial donations to the M.U.M.C - Maternal & Pre Natal Care Centre. Arrangement entrusted to the jason smith funeral chapel, Simcoe. (519) 426-0199.

Gedye - Ronald William Lewis: passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital on Friday, July 27, 2001. Mr. Ronald Gedye of Simcoe in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor Gedye (nee: Pullen). He is survived by his son; Jim Gedye and his wife Johanna of Toronto, brother; Bob Gedye and his wife Jean of Hagersville, and sister-in-law; Berneice Gedye of St. Catherines. Cherished grandfather of Mary Ellen. Ronald was predeceased by his son; Robert Gedye, brothers; Roy, Ken, Jack, and Alan Gedye and sisters; Kay Eke and Joan Soles. Ronald will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, July 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ferris funeral home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Reverend Michael Beacom officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood cemetery. Memorial donations to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

HOLTERMAN, E. Ruth I. (Edworthy): At Golden Pond Retirement Lodge, Waterford on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, has gone to be with her husband Fred. She leaves wonderful, loving memories for her children Mark and his wife Jennifer, Hamilton, as well as her daughter Julia and her husband Mark Taylor, Leamington and her two grandchildren James and Janna Lees Holterman. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Aubrey and his wife Winnifred, Edmonton; Malcolm and his wife Margaret, Kelowna; and sister Beth Hoover, Dundas; as well as her sisters-in-law Jean McCallen, Waterford; Evelyn Draper, Campbellville and Marion and her husband William Frank, London, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her younger brother David Edworthy. Also left behind are many beloved and valued friends. Ruth enjoyed teaching for over twenty years, she worshiped at Waterford United Church as well as at Knox Church, Port Carling. Visitation will be at Waterford United Church, 1 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2001, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Rev. Larry Weigand officiating. Donations to Waterford United Church Building Fund or Golden Pond Retirement Lodge. Arrangements entrusted to THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford 443-5332.

MACDONALD - Peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener Robert Charles John (Bob) MacDonald formerly of Simcoe in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Renate. Loving father of Brian and wife Pam MacDonald of Delhi; Judy & husband Dean Clifford of Norwich. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Rick and Lianna, Jennifer & Daniel and one great-granddaughter Breanna. Survived by his brother Chuck and his wife Pat MacDonald of Brantford and brother-in-law Louie and his wife Theresa Sferazza of Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by former wife Aileen Green (1989), his sister Gayleen Sferazza (1985), his mother Mary (1997), his father Alex (1999). Bob was a member of the R.C.A.F. and a member of the Belleville City Police and Constable for the Simcoe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and bus driver for the City of Kitchener Waterloo. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2001 to commemerate Bob's life at EDWARD R. GOOD FUNERAL HOME (519-745-8445), 171 King St. S., Kitchener at 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. for family visitation and 3 p.m - 4 p.m for Public Visitation. Interment at Memory Memorial Gardens, Breslau, Ontario. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association of Camp Trillium would be greatly acknowledged by the family.

Mota, Joseph "Joe" - of Austin Cres., Simcoe, passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, July 28th, 2001 in his 56th year. Mr. Mota is the beloved husband of Linda Mota (nee Farr) of Simcoe. Dearly loved father of Fred Mota and his wife Crystal of Oshawa; Denise Lamont and her husband Rick of Bowanville and Tara Cortez and her husband Armenio of Caledonia. Proud papa of Ken, Madison, Dakota and Brody. Mr. Mota is survived by his two sisters; four brothers and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his one brother Jim. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Joe at the jason smith funeral chapel, 689 Norfolk Street, North, Simcoe on Tuesday, July 31st, 2001 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Powless: Gaylord Ross At his home on July 28, 2001, Gaylord Powless age 54 years, beloved husband of Patti (Broker) Powless, loving father of Michelle and Dave Anderson (Cambridge), Christopher and Gaylene (at home), dear grandfather of Taylor and David Ross, son of Ross and Wilma Powless, brother of Gail (Mark Ayres) of Brantford, Gary of Six Nations, Audrey (Jim Bomberry) of Six Nations, Greg (Susan) of Brantford, Harry of Vancouver, Arlene (Daniel Martin) of Six Nations, Richard (Effie) of Ottawa, the late Victor, Darryl (Nansii) of Vancouver, Karen (Jerry Martin) of Six Nations, Anthony and Jeffrey both of Brantford, and Jacqueline (Ron Lynes) of Mt. Pleasant, son-in-law of Elva Broker and the late Jack Broker of Port Dover, brother-in-law of Leslie and Lena Broker of Oklahoma City, Phil and Dawn Poitras of Simcoe, Gerald and Dianne Broker of Delhi, Joe and Linda Misener of Port Dover, special friend of Jotham Dumesnil, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gaylord is a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame he played and coached in Brantford and Six Nations for many years, also a member of Brant Gunners Club and Carpenter's Union Local 18, Hamilton. BARKER, Janet Porter - In Owen Sound, Ontario on Saturday, December 15, 2001, Janet Barker (nee Hall) of Vittoria in her 82nd year. Wife of the late John Cecil Barker (1985). Dear mother to Dave, Janet Wilson (Dave), Lindsay (Jacquie), Gordon (Janet), George (Janet), Neil and John (Ann). Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a granddaughter Julie Barker (1995), 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Janet was a long time member of Vittoria Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. BUFFEL - Mrs. Cesar Buffel (formerly of Imperial St., Delhi) passed away at the Highland Crest Nursing Home, Minden on Thursday, December 20, 2001 in his 93rd year. Member of the Delhi Belgium Club. Beloved husband of late Gérmaine Becu (1956). Dear father of Nella Scheers (husband Wilfried), Delhi and Londa Earle (husband Ronald), Minden. Cherished grandfather of TerryAnn Watson (husband Rob), Wayne Scheers (wife Lianne), Liesha Earle, Joseph Earle and great-grandfather of Jason & Elisa Watson and Austin & Victoria Scheers. Also survived by one sister, Alida DeBel in Belgium and by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Belgium. Predeceased by two brothers: Oscar and Firmin Buffel and by one sister Zoe DeKoninck. BUKTA - Mr. Joseph F. Bukta of R.R. #3 Delhi passed away suddenly at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 20, 2001 in his 62nd year. Joe was a very compassionate and dedicated office manager at the Murphy Funeral Home and best of friends of the staff and their families for many years. Member of the Canada Tobacco District Hungarian House. Member of St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, Courtland. Cherished father of Patricia Bukta, BC; David Bukta, Guelph and Angela Brands (husband Kevin) of Tillsonburg. Dear grandfather of Fiona Brands. Loving brother of Rose Marie (Deutsch) Schrey, Windsor and Anthony Bukta (wife Elizabeth), Courtland. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents: Anthony Bukta (1971) and Rose Bukta (2000) and by his brother the Late George Bukta (1973). CAMPBELL, Ernest William (Bill) - E. William (Bill) Campbell of Simcoe formerly of Burlington passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on December 18, 2001 in his 83rd year. Bill was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1919 and raised by friends in Wilkie, Saskatchewan until the age of 21. He left home for Ontario in 1940 where he met Doris Pope of Vittoria and they were married in 1947. They had three children, son Navarre who predeceased in 1970 and two daughters Jill Comrie and husband Brian of Calgary and Shelley Cousineau and husband Ken of Simcoe. He was the dear grandfather to Erin Reidy, Andrea and Christine Comrie, Jessica and Alyssa Cousineau. Brother to Allan McMillan and wife Rosemary of Cincinnati. Bill was a stationary engineer at Norfolk General Hospital and then Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington retiring in 1984. Friends are invited to call at THE FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be conducted from TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, Simcoe on Friday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gordon Moir and Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Bill will be laid to rest at St. John's Woodhouse cemetery. Memorial donations to The Family Fund of Norfolk General Hospital would be appreciated.

Loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by grandsons Cody and Cole. Brother of Margaret A. Miller, Roy and Eileen Doughty, Eileen Pepper and the late Andrew. Dear friend of Betty Phibbs. Jim, with his wife Doreen and brother and sister-in-law Drew and Norma Williamson established Doughty & Williamson in 1950. Jim was a veteran of WW.II serving in the R.C.A.F. stationed in Burma, a volunteer Jarvis Fire Fighter from 1962-1985, a life member and past president of the Jarvis Lions Club and a faithful member of Wesley United Church.
