ERWIN, Daniel Bruce, 'Dan the Man' of Port Dover, suddenly Saturday, December 15, 2001 in his 32nd year. Dearly loved son of Sandy and Bucky Erwin of Nanticoke. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Don and Colleen of Jarvis, Cheryl and Dave Lemos of Caledonia and Brad of Nanticoke. Uncle Dan will be sadly missed by Hailey, Kyle, Travis, Amber and Kelsey Lemos and Jacob and Nolan Erwin. Loving grandson of Earl Willson of Jarvis. He will be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins. His 'Coffee Buddy' Colleen will have fond memories of him. Dan was a well known member of the community. He had a smile for everyone and loved to chat and visit with everyone around town. The community will miss his cheerful, happy face around Port Dover. He was an avid hockey fan and rink rat, but a real goalie at heart. A dedicated fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Port Dover Jr. D Sailors. Dan was Honourary Coach and Manager of the Port Dover Oldtimers Hockey Club, past Assistant Equipment Manager of the Port Dover Jr. C Clippers and a past volunteer at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home. Dan is at the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530 for visitation on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church, Port Dover (corner of Chapman and St. George Sts.). Rev. Brian Elder officiating, followed by interment at Nanticoke Union cemetery. GARVEY, Edna May: passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at the West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville. Mrs. Edna Garvey of Leisure Living, Jarvis, formerly of Simcoe in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Garvey (2000). She is survived by her loving children; John Garvey (Jack) of Hamilton and Carol Duxbury and her husband Don of Hagersville, cherished grandchildren; Shari Duxbury of Hagersville and Mark Duxbury and his fiancee Cami Jackson of Scarborough, sisters; Norma Down of Stratford and Verna Potts and her husband Raemer of Windham Centre and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Garvey was predeceased by her brother; Earl Parson and his wife Phoebe, sister; Hazel Smith and her husband Lorne and brother-in-law; John Downs. There will be a private family service at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Simcoe. Reverend John Cruickshank officiating followed by interment at Oakwood cemetery. GIBSON - Mrs. Neva Gibson, formerly of Teeterville passed away at the Delhi Nursing Home on Thursday, December 20, 2001 in her 89th year. Member of Teeterville United Church and U.C.W. Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Halo Chapter #168. She was the former Neva Myrtle Covington, beloved wife of Robert L. Gibson. Loving sister of Allen Covington (wife Shirley), Delhi and Evelyn Loftis, Halifax, VA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother: Randolph Covington and by three sisters: Thelma Foster, Mary Noble and Ruby McCann. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi for visitation on Sunday (from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.). Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 24, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Colin Craggs officiating. Interment in Teeterville cemetery. HAMMOND, Mary Edna (Lapp) at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home, Port Dover on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 in her 97th year. Wife of the late Kenneth Hammond. Dearly loved mother of Claire and Catherine Hammond and Marion and John Anstee all of Port Dover. Will be missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vaughn and Deena Anstee and children Kaylie and Ryleigh Mae, Marilyn and Tom Jordon and son Brendan, Randy Hammond and his friend Tamra Mann and son Robinson, Elaine and Joe Huxley and Janet and Kent Knechtel and son Nicholas. Predeceased by two sisters, Clara Myers and Bertha Webber. Mary taught elementary school for many years, a long time member of the Marburg Women's Institute, and a life member of United Church Women and Grace United Church. HUYGHEBAERT, Alice - (formerly of Connaught Ave., Delhi) passed away at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 in her 93rd year. Former member of LaSalette Catholic Women's League and Royal Canadian Legion Br. No. 125 Delhi. Former Alice Deketelaere. Beloved wife of late Eugene Gruyaert (1946) and late Paul Huyghebaert (1973). Dear mother of Heddy Wagner, Delhi; Bonnie Lewis (and friend George), Penticton, B.C. and Linda Grant (and husband Donald), Penticton B.C. Loving grandmother of Danny, Vincent, Brenda, Bernice, Kevin, Karen, Kris, Rachele and Alexander and 12 great-grandchildren. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters all in Belgium. Funeral Mass to be held at St. John Brebeuf & Companions Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. said by Rev. Fr. Mark Poulin. Interment in Delhi cemetery. KRAMER: Joyce at the West Haldimand Hospital, Hagersville on December 15, 2001, Joyce (Burris) Kramer age 69 years, wife of the late Jack "Bill" Kramer (1928-1983), loving mother of Robert and Deanie Kramer, Wendy and Ed Hannigan all of Hagersville and Rick Kramer of London, dear grandmother of Pam and Neil Huctwith, Stacy and Kristy Kramer, Kate and Ryan Dinning, Matthew and Brody Kramer, great grandmother Kaylin and Jack Huctwith, Shelby and Brayden Dinning, sister of Ethel and Earl Convey of Ancaster and the late Bob Burris, also survived by sister-in-law Lois Burris. LEE, (Eatwell) Dorothy May passed away on December 14, 2001 in her 82nd year. Cherished wife and best friend of Stanley Gordon Lee for the past 59 years. Loving mother of Carole (George) Jenney and Susan (Stephen) Schomburg, devoted grandmother of Toddy Jenney, Josef Schomburg, Angelique Jenney and Mikal Schomburg, great-grandmother of Mikal, Taige, Robert and Melanie. Daughter of the late Ora and William Eatwell, sister of Douglas Eatwell, and predeceased by sister, Evelyn Rabbitts. A longtime employee of Sears, her greatest joys were in spending time with her family, traveling and gardening. Special thanks to Dr. Tschirhart and the nursing staff on 3E. Will be fondly remembered by her 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Born in Romania on July 1, 1916 daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Krestel) Gross. She came to Canada in 1949 and lived most of her life in the Aylmer area. SCHOENFELD, Grant, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, December 20th, 2001 at the Norfolk General Hospital. SHEPHERD - Larry Wayne Arvel: passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Larry Shepherd of Rosseau Dr., Simcoe in his 57th year. Son of the late Bernard Shepherd (1998) and Mrs. Helen Shepherd. Much beloved husband of Ellen (nee Bahula). Also survived by his loving sons; Sean of Mississauga and Kirk of Simcoe, sister, Janette Lindsay and her husband Bruce of Stoney Creek, Brothers: Allan Shepherd and his wife Rosanne of Simcoe and Darrell Shepherd and his wife Cindy of Boston, sisters-in-law; Margaret McArthur and her husband Dave and Mary Ann Deseranno and her husband Angelo all of Simcoe, brothers-in-law; Frank Bahula and his wife Laura of Pine Grove and Ed Bahula and his wife Dianna of Toronto, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, December 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Raymond Thompson officiating followed by interment at Walsh Baptist cemetery. STE. CROIX, Agnes (Swietanski), peacefully at her home in Port Dover on Sunday, December 16, 2001, in her 71st year. Dearly loved wife of Leon of almost 50 years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Rosemary and Alan Nummey, Brian and Debbie, Gordon and Carolyn. Predeceased by son Andrew. Agnes will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her six grandchildren. In keeping with Mrs. Ste.
