McGrath, Ann - Surrounded by family at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in her 53rd year. Loving wife of John Worden. Mother to Jason Curtis. Will be missed by her four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Aurel (Darla) McGrath and Paul McGrath. Sister in-law of Bonnie and Larry (Deb). Daughter in-law of Joan Worden. Fondly remembered by her Aunt Lidia (Gilles) Leplant. A gathering of friends will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. East, Cobourg 905 372 5132, on Thursday April 15th from 7-9 pm. Loving daughter of the late Arnth and Oda Larsen and step-daughter of Brenda Larsen. Dear sister of Donald Larsen (Helen) and Steven Larsen (Lorianne) and step-sister of Dayle Stoliker (Lesley) and Paula Pallister (Jim). Loving daughter in law of Larry and Mary Bechamp and sister in law of Susan Cann (Larry) and Karen Haider (Wolfgang). Also missed by her nieces and nephews Courtney, Joshua, Jenna-Lee, Corey, Dylon, Krista, Anders, Mikayla, Joshua, Robert, Liam, Jasmine, Sydney, Erin and Adam. Friends will be received at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Sunday, September 19th from 1-5 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 20th at 1 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.

Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Laura, Timothy, Stephen, Cara Lee, Serena, Brian, Nicole, Robert, Christopher, Daniel, Joshua, Jennifer and Lauren. Also two great grandchildren Andrew and Jayda. Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear mother of Marlene and her husband Bob Jenkins, Jerry McCann and his wife Anne and Sandy and her husband Roy Burgess. Dear grandmother of Scott (Lynette), Dean (June), Gilbert (Laurie), Erin (Stephen), Jerod, Alison, Angie. Ruth will also be missed by seven great grandchildren. Sister of Gord Wilcox, Tom Wilcox and Edna Maine. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St., East, Cobourg, on Monday April 18 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Dear grandmother of Laura, Gerald, Steven, Theresa, David, Cheri, Benjamin, Megan, Joseph, Samuel, Joshua, and Seth and great grandson Nathan. Sister of Lewis Baker, Daryl Baker and Linda MacDonald. At the family’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. If desired donations may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation.

Loving mother of James Doyle (Shirley), Patrick Doyle (Carol), Daniel Doyle, David Doyle (Anne) and the late Lorraine Butler, Gerald, John and Joseph Doyle. Dear grandmother of 29 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters. At Margaret’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family graveside service will be held in St. Michael’s cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Elaine Gottschall - Peacefully in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, on September 5, 2005. Biochemist/Author of Breaking the Vicious Cycle (first released as Food and the Gut Reaction in 1987), which has sold over one million copies in seven languages. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Herbert; survived by her daughters Joan Gottschall of Chicago, Illinois; Judy Herod and her husband, Stew, and grandchildren Matthew and Meg Herod of Roseneath, Ontario. She will be missed by dear friends and countless others whose health and lives have been restored by her life’s work on the relationship between intestinal health and food. Visitation will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg, on Friday, September 9 from 7 – 9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance at the Funeral Home Chapel will take place on Saturday, September 10 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Heritage cemetery of St. Peter, Cobourg. Tax-exempt donations may be made in Elaine’s memory, care of MacCoubrey Funeral Home, to the Elaine and Herbert Gottschall Foundation (dedicated to carrying on Elaine’s work) or the Palliative Care Unit of Northumberland Hills Hospital.

Remembered by his former wife Kathleen Marwood. Alan will be missed by his many friends. Beloved husband of the late Maria Uszok. Beloved uncle of Elizabeth Szawara and her daughters Ewelina and Sylwia all of Cobourg. Loving brother of Wladyslaw Garncarz and his wife Zofia and uncle of their daughter Lucyna all of Poland. Pre-deceased by his sisters Zofia and Agnieszka. Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be held in St. Michael’s Church, on Wednesday October 26th at 2 pm. Interment in St. Michael’s cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Dowle, Vincent (Scotty) With loving family & friends by his side, Scotty passed away at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Friday, October 21st, 2005 at the age of 71. Scotty will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Mary (nee Heaney) and his loving children Scott (Karen), Lori (Dennis), Glenn (Mary), and Ian. Proud grandpa of Dawn, Llewellyn, Scott, Ronee, Carly and “Papa” to Darby (Doo), great grandchildren Tyson and Nathan. Survived by his brother Jack Dowle and sister-in-law Terry of Cobourg. Cherished mother of Edmund Howard Johnstone, Albert Johnstone, June Johnstone and the late Carol Johnstone. Loving grandmother of Francis, Anne, Carole, James, Lee, Anne, Sue, Nancy, Nadiya and Nicole. Dearest great grandmother of Fraser and Tyler of Canada and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren in France. Dear daughter of the late Arnold and Alberta Couturier. Cremation is to take place. A memorial service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E Cobourg on Saturday October 29, 2005 at 3p.m. with visitation being held one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made by cheque to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

October 2, 1909 - January 7, 2005

MOORE, Luella (Henry) Caldwell on January 7, 2005, peacefully entered the next phase of life. She had attained the age of 95 last fall. Luella’s death occurred at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg. Predeceased by infant son Ross (1931), husband James Caldwell (1950), husband Bert Moore (1990), Luella was the proud mother of the Caldwell family: Bob & Delia of Cobourg, George & Audrey of Oakville, Helen & Carman Massey of Baltimore, Gary & Merle of Lynden, Jean & Norm Robinson of Dryden, Sandra of Cobourg, Marsha & Gary Jones of Grafton, and loving “step-mother” to the Moore family: Harold & Mary of Orillia, Doug & Muriel of Cobourg, (the late) Bill & Doris of Cobourg, and (the late) Roy & Shirley of Fergus. Luella always loved children and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Caldwell and Moore families, and by her many friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Howard (1990) and Earl Henry (1990), both of Garden Hill. A service of celebration and memorial will be held at her church, Calvary Baptist, 166 King Street West, Cobourg, on Thursday, January 13, at 2:00 PM; visiting & reception to follow. Many thanks from the family to all who visited and/or sent notes to Luella, and to the caring staff at The Plough. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Cherished grandmother of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sister of Gabriel Bruneau and predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Special friend of Gus McNeil. Sister of Harriett Theobold of Port Perry, also Hans, David, Joseph, William, James, Alexandra, Ireland, Georgina, Matilda and Annie, all predeceased. Haines, Frederick Allan passed away peacefully at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on January 4th, 2005. Frederick in his 89th year. Beloved husband to Olive Haines of Castleton. Cherished father to Marion (Gordon) Stevenson of Orangeville, Marie (the late Lorne) Archibald of Orangeville and Ronald (Maggie) Haines of Orangeville. Loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Durward of Ottawa, Bessie Patterson of Alberta and predeceased by siblings Ralph, George, James, Geoffrey, David and Jennie. A funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 11 King St., W., Colborne on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 3 p.m. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cremation is to follow the service with an interment at a later date. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
