Beloved wife of Robert Christensen. Loving mother of Derek Giddings (Elaine), Rick Lazaroff (Darlene), Michael McMinn and Myles McMinn (Heather). Dear grandmother of Sara, Melody, Kristine, Connor and Angelica. Lovingly remembered by her step-father Don Giddings, step-brother Dean Usher and step-sisters Alma and Pam Usher. Peter Adrian Berbee

Berbee, Peter Adrian A long-time resident of Cobourg, died at Kingston General Hospital on April 25th, 2003. Peter was born in Hamilton, ON, on April 20, 1927. He grew up on a small farm on the third line west of Brampton, ON, and attended a one-room grade school, S.S. No.5 Chinguacousy, and Brampton High School. He left high school to work at the Dale Estate Greenhouses in Brampton. During WWII he worked at Malton as a riveter in the production of Lancaster bombers. During this period he was an active member of the Lorne Scots reserve and played on their hockey team. In 1948 he married Shirley Rawcliffe. After a period of travel and work in the Prairie Provinces, the couple began their half-century career in Cobourg where Peter became known as a builder of quality homes and a realtor specializing in commercial properties. His hobbies included hunting, building and flying model airplanes, gardening, golf and travel in recreational vehicles. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life, Peter was independent, self-sufficient, well organized and totally committed to tasks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Muriel and his wife Shirley. He is survived by his present wife Edna Henderson, his sisters Rita (Cobourg) and Mary Anthony (Toronto) his brother John (Madison, WI), his three children, Judith Ann Clark, Michael Berbee, and John Berbee, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. Cobourg, on Thursday, May 1st, at 2:30 pm. Those wishing may make a memorial contribution by cheque to the NHC Foundation.
