January 30, 1935 - August 29, 2007

CHRISTENSEN, Bette Helen - (Graduate of Sir Fleming College 1993 in Sociology) - Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Wednesday August 29th, 2007 in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Robert Christensen. Loving mother of Derek Giddings (Elaine), Rick Lazaroff (Darlene), Michael McMinn and Myles McMinn (Heather). Dear grandmother of Sara, Melody, Kristine, Connor and Angelica. Lovingly remembered by her step-father Don Giddings, step-brother Dean Usher and step-sisters Alma and Pam Usher. Friends may call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Thursday September 6th from 1-2 pm. Followed by a Celebration of Bette’s life at 2 pm. If desired donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit. The Christensen family would like to thank Dr. Cross, the nursing staff in Palliative Care and the hospital volunteers for all their care and compassion.

Palmer; Marion Frances on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Marion Frances Palmer (nee Morton) was the beloved wife of the late James Franklin Palmer. Dear mother of David and his wife Elaine of Cornwall and Paul and his wife Janet of Salem. Grandmother of Paula, Teresa, David, Melanie and Rhonda. Great grandmother of Chelsea and Alika. Sister of Fraser Morton and his wife Anne of Aurora. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, King St. E., Colborne on Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment East Colborne cemetery. Friends may call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 11 King St. W, Colborne on Friday, May 2nd. from 2-4 and 7-9. LITSTER, Alan Robert (Buck) Suddenly at the Northumberland Health Care Centre on Sunday April 27th, 2003 in his 73rd year. Beloved son of the late Frederick Litster and Mavis Minifie. Loving brother of Marlene Cane (Lyal) of Cobourg and the late Harold Litster and Eleanor Babcock-Harrott. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by his friend Gloria. Peter Adrian Berbee
April 20, 1927 - April 25, 2003

Berbee, Peter Adrian A long-time resident of Cobourg, died at Kingston General Hospital on April 25th, 2003. Peter was born in Hamilton, ON, on April 20, 1927. He grew up on a small farm on the third line west of Brampton, ON, and attended a one-room grade school, S.S. No.5 Chinguacousy, and Brampton High School. He left high school to work at the Dale Estate Greenhouses in Brampton. During WWII he worked at Malton as a riveter in the production of Lancaster bombers. During this period he was an active member of the Lorne Scots reserve and played on their hockey team. In 1948 he married Shirley Rawcliffe. After a period of travel and work in the Prairie Provinces, the couple began their half-century career in Cobourg where Peter became known as a builder of quality homes and a realtor specializing in commercial properties. His hobbies included hunting, building and flying model airplanes, gardening, golf and travel in recreational vehicles. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life, Peter was independent, self-sufficient, well organized and totally committed to tasks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Muriel and his wife Shirley. He is survived by his present wife Edna Henderson, his sisters Rita (Cobourg) and Mary Anthony (Toronto) his brother John (Madison, WI), his three children, Judith Ann Clark, Michael Berbee, and John Berbee, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. Cobourg, on Thursday, May 1st, at 2:30 pm. Those wishing may make a memorial contribution by cheque to the NHC Foundation.

Nick Hobbs
July 2, 1958 - April 26, 2003

Hobbs, Nicholas Ian Known as Nick to friends & family, succumbed to cancer on Saturday, April 26th, 2003 in the Northumberland Health Care Centre. He leaves behind him, loving parents, Keith & Stephanie (Steve), brother Tim & his wife Francine, sisters Ann, Kathy, Sue & Nikki, brothers-in-law, Jim, Kevin & Chris, nieces & nephews, Shauna, Lee, Stephanie, Ryan, Shane, Garry, Nicholas & Richard. Nick may no longer be with us in body but he will always be with us in our hearts & minds. Funeral Services will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Tuesday, April 29th at 2 pm. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Ling, Myrtle Elsie Peacefully at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg on Tuesday, February 1st, 2005, Myrtle Ling (nee Kerr) at 90 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Charles Albert Ling. Dear mother of Shirley (Richard Magee) of Amherst, N.Y. and the late Sandra (Lynn Moir and wife Jeanie). Loving grandmother of Cathie, Mark, John, Pamela, and Tom. Cherished great grandmother of Shannon, Andrew, Chelsea, Kelly, Braeden, and Megan. Predeceased by her siblings Dora, Eleanor, Tom, William, Andrew, Robert, Albert, and Fred. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Church (corner of College and King St. E. in Cobourg) on Saturday, February 5th, 2005 at 11 am. Interment at the Heritage cemetery of St. Peter. Visitation to be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday, February 4th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Those wishing may make a memorial contribution by cheque to St. Peter’s Church Building Fund or to the Golden Plough Lodge.

Dear mother of Alice (Mrs. Bruce A. Murray) of Roseneath. Grandmother of Ian Murray of Roseneath. Sister of Ethel, Millie, Myra, Edith and Alma all predeceased. Following cremation a service in memory of Annie will be held at the Chapel of the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. Interment later at Burks Falls, Ontario. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Annie can be made to the Golden Plough Lodge Auxiliary.

December 13, 1934 - January 30, 2005

Beloved father of Vicki (Paul), Susan (Darrell), David (Janet) of Roseneath, Ontario, stepfather of Christopher (Michelle) of Burlington and Andrea of Vancouver. Papa of Meaghen, David, Jeffrey, Jordan, Destiny, Michael, Jackson and Katie. Much loved brother of Joan of Cobourg, predeceased by his parents John and Annie Mowat. Cremation has taken place.
