Carol Alice (nee Low) Liberty
Peacefully, at the Hospice at May Court, on Friday, June 20, 2003 after a long, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by members of her family, at age 69. Carol is survived be her loving husband of 47 years, Laurie, her children Sharon (John) Braun, Randy (Ione) Liberty and Jonathan (Sandra) Liberty, her grandchildren Rose Braun, Evan, Tegan and Anna Liberty, and her siblings Jessie (Marion) Swain, Ron (Jean) Low, Davis "Mort" (Barbee) Low, Ken (Janice) Low and Eric Low. After returning to nursing and doing training with Dr. Balfour Mount at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Carol started the first functional Palliative Care service in Ontario at the Riverside Hospital.
