Margaret White - 12/01/2003

Margaret passed away suddenly on November 25, 2003 at the West End Villa. Predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Roy White, she will be sadly missed by her brother Douglas (Arline) and her nieces Christine (Patrick) and Chantal (Stefano) and her grand-niece and nephew Veronique and William. A private family service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe at 1 p.m. The family has requested that there be no public visitation. Donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society. The family wish to thank the staff at the West End Villa for their kindness, with special thanks to Gail Lascelle.

On Friday, November 21, 2003, as the result of an accident, aged 56 years. Beloved son of Katharine B. Wightman (nee McMeans), the late J. Sheldon Wightman and brother of Jim. Retired teacher at Ridgemont High School. A Memorial Service will be held on a date to be announced. A Memorial Fund in Ian's name will also be announced. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

After a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home on Monday, February 9, 2004 surrounded by her children. Predeceased by her husband Andy. Loving mother of Bonnie (Keith Eastman), Tish (Mike MacDonald) and Andrew. Proud nanny of Matthew, Jessica, Michael, Rebecca, Emily and Mikaela. Sister of Frederick (Jean), Gerald (June), Gail Hill, the late Rena Cook and the late Lyman Hill. Survived by her sister-in-law Marilyn Hill and brother-in-law Roy Anderson (Shirley). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. Interment Pinecrest cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.

Dear grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Kaye Ackerman, Alan (Bev), the late Olive Ursel (the late Norman) and the late John Ferguson (the late Dorothy). Also loved by his nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Kathleen (Katie) Brown - 02/12/2004

Suddenly on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. She celebrated her 81st birthday on Sunday, February 8th. Beloved wife of the late MacBrown. Mother to Walter and Fred (Evelyn Algar) and devoded grandmother of Dylan and Tamara. Survived by her sister Angie Dawson, brother-in-law Dick Morton and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed. Katie, born in the Bruce Peninsula in 1923 grew up in Thunder Bay, taught school in Mar and Toronto. She lived in Toronto, where she raised a family and moved to Ottawa in 1987. A Memorial Service will be held at First Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa on Friday, February 20th at 3pm. A reception will follow. In memoriam donations to the Arthritis Society, 2269 Riverside Dr. Unit 20, Ottawa ON K1H 8K2 would be greatly appreciated.

Catherine Compton
On Thursday, January 22, 2004 in her 48th year our beloved Cathy, Bluebird Woman was called to the spirit world. She was the beloved mother of Justin Compton and very proud grandmother of Nicolas and Kiana Fontaine and their mother Deena. She was cherished by many friends and family. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Jim Compton and Francois Arsenault, sisters Irene Compton and Josephine Morrisseau, Justin's father Louis Bonham, niece and family Janine, Tyler, Doreen, Ocean Compton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Keeseekoose Reserve, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island. To welcome her to the spirit world is her mom and dad Jim and Alice Compton, sisters Doreen Compton and MaryAnn Morrisseau and brother Gordon Wasteste. A Celebration of Cathy's life will take place at the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, 12 Stirling Avenue, Ottawa, on February 7, 2004 at 12noon. All friends and community members are welcome. Traditional blanket dance will take place to assist the family with funeral costs. Interment in Winninpeg.

Cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren; Mark, Sophie, Alexandra, Rebecca, Nicholas, Caroline and Stéphanie. Lovingly remembered by his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
