She came to Canada at the end of WWII as the bride of her ex-husband Jack Service (deceased 2000). She will be forever loved by their 5 children: Valerie Ethier (Steve), Marylyn Service-Peters (Bob), Robert Service (Kathy), Jane Mowbray (Cochrane), Mike Service (Pat). She will also be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren: Dwayne, Chantal, Dawn, Rachelle, Jenny, Jordon, Brian, Christopher, Blake, Caitlin and 5 great-grandchildren: Nicole, Katrina, Lucas, Tucker and Riley. passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2004 at the age of 92. He was born in Montreal in 1911 and embarked on a life devoted to art in his twenties, where he painted from his home in Montreal and his cottage in the Laurentians. With the support of his wife Catherine, Brodie became a prolific artist. In his early thirties he met Hungarian born artist, Herman Heimlich and began to explore and experiment with the principles of Modern art. From then on, art was to become his overwhelming passion. Over his 92 years, Brodie created hundreds of much admired paintings and sculptures. In the mid-fifties, Brodie went to France with his family where he was inspired by the European art milieu. Numerous students benefited from Brodie's knowledge of art. For years he taught at the Ottawa School of Art and later in his home in Ottawa where he has lived for the past 45 years. On February 4, 2004 at the age of 53, somewhat unexpectedly but peacefully, with her dear sister Wuanita by her side as always. Sandra, aka Sandy...Sarah...Bib...will be fondly remembered as a miracle person (an angel) for fighting all odds. Her personality, her strength, her sense of humor and her preservation of all life (including Mr. Mouse) remains with us forever. Sandra is predeceased by her parents Leona (nee Campbell) and Dr. Wilson Wallingford. Peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2004 after a short illness, age 86 years. Forever loved and endlessly loving. Small in stature and larger than life. Always unassuming and impossible to overlook. A woman of few words and full of emotion. Tough as nails and gentle as a cloud. Born in Ottawa, July3, 1917, Françoise was a matriarch and an angel to all those who loved her - and there were many. Her darling Albert Vincent, who left us five years ago, now welcomes back a beautiful wife of 59 years, a devoted mother and his partner for eternity. As she left us, Françoise was cared for by her children, James (Johanne), Robert (Lorraine), Françoise (Cécile), Michel (Lucille), Picrre (Yvonne), Guy (Nancy), Denis (Lee Anne), Denise, Nicole (Paul), Francine (Rick) and Lucie (Tom). Françoise was also loved by her sister, Claudia (Phil Deslauriers), her sisters-in-law Cécile, Agathe, Jeanne D'Arc and Élodia, 39 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and countless friends and family members, each holding dear to them memories so sweet and cherished.
