Allin was active in WWII as a Wireless Air Gunner and he kept in touch through Ham Radio. He was an old-timer with "Hydro". He founded Woodcutters Supplies and was widely known for his knowledge of chainsaws. Allin was also a Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #129, Haliburton. A Celebration in Memory of Allin's Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #636, Minden on a date and time to be announced in August of 2003. Cremation has taken place.
