Born in Bentinck Township, Ontario, daughter of Margaret and Thomas Shewell. Beloved wife of the late Francis Patrick Meloshe and cherished mother of Nancy (Ian Pragnell), Mary (Phyllis Hierlihy), Patrice (Elmer Tumak) and Timothy. Dear sister of Helen Hill (Norman) of Windsor Ontario and sister-in-law of Wilfred and Helen Meloche of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Walter, Charles and Stanley, and; by her sisters Isabel Hurley and Violet Hogan of Owen Sound. Pearl was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Owen Sound. JANITCH, Mary Ann, artist - Died gently at Quinte Health Centre, Belleville, on Tuesday, October 3, of cancer. Dearly beloved daughter of Frances Janitch and the late Anthony Janitch. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Trina and Don McQueen, Pauline Janitch and Max Ferguson, Clifford Janitch and Katherine Bateman and Dr. William Janitch. Dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, niece and friend to many. Born in Belleville in 1949, she was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. Her art was exhibited in private galleries and the Art Gallery of Ontario; and a number of her works are in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. In her later years, as she battled disability, she worked privately in photography and other mediums. She created beautiful work, had a love and compassion for animals, and an ability to see the exquisite in the everyday. She was a fierce fighter for her independence, but she had a gentle soul. There was no-one like her. A family memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 4.30 p.m. at the Humphrey Funeral Home/A.W. Miles Chapel at 1403 Bayview Avenue in Toronto. We would like to thank Dr. Mathieson as well as the nurses and staff at the Quinte Health Centre for their extremely professional and compassionate care. FRAIS, Annemarie Ilse - passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 13, 2006, in her 87th year, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Annemarie had a great sense of humor, always full of life and never complained despite her medical challenges. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, needlepoint, musical theatre and had a special love for children and pets. She will always be remembered for her frequent trips to Las Vegas to play the nickel slots. She was there with her family for the last time this summer. Annemarie was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Walter, who passed away six weeks earlier. They will both be sadly missed by their son Walter Frais of Sarnia, wife Trudy and their daughter Candy and husband Greg; daughter Sylvia Phelps of Burlington, husband Bill and their sons John and Alan; and son Peter Frais of Michigan, wife Ruth and their children Johnson, Matthew, Ruthanne, Jennifer, Christopher, Naomi and Martha and their spouses and children. Special thanks go to Manfred Richart of Austria, who came to Canada earlier this year to visit with them.
