Guyer, Stephen

At his Florida residence in Leesburg on Thursday, December 20th, 2001 at the age of 61 years, Stephen Guyer of Port Elgin and formerly of Brampton. Husband of the former Marsha Thornton. Father of Scott of Paris, Ontario, and Todd of Brampton. Grandpa to Kristin, Kayla, Kelsey, Brandon, Nicholas, Caitlyn, and Megan. Son of George and Mabel Guyer of Port Elgin. Brother of Ted and his wife Eva of Port Elgin, Michael and Kim of Owen Sound. Brother-in-law of Cynthia and her husband Bryan Dunlop of Winnipeg, Bill Thornton and his wife Nancy of Windsor, and Brian Thornton and his wife Linda of Wallaceburg. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Elder A.J.V. Leeder officiating.

Interment Sanctuary Park cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Saugeen Shores Medical Centre Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Dawe, Ken "Ladi"

At his home in Southampton, on Friday, December 21st, 2001 in his 43rd year, Ken Dawe of Southampton. Beloved husband of the former Laurie Edwards. Dear father of Jansen, at home and Jasmine of London. He is also survived by his father Mike Dawe of Cobourg. Brother of Tracy and her husband Vince Westra of Hawkestone and Pam Dawe of Woodstock. Uncle to Jayne.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. A private family funeral service will be conducted.

Evans, Aleda

Peacefully at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Wednesday, December 19th, 2001 in her 85th year, the former Aleda Mitchell, a long time resident of Paisley. Dear wife of the late Lorne B. Evans. Dear mother of Kieth and his wife Barbara of Caistor Centre, Ontario, Orville and his wife Elsie of Clandeboye and Harvey and his wife Marlene of Paisley. Grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Beattie. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Gwen.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. S., Paisley, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, December 24th, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Harvey Evans officiating.

Brannick, T.A. "Pete"

Life Member, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 340, Port Elgin - Served 6 ½ years with the Royal Canadian Artillery in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

At the Southampton Care Centre on Saturday, December 15th, 2001, at the age of 84 years, Theodore Albert “Pete” Brannick of Port Elgin, husband of the former Marguerite Vennard, father of Janice Storms of Lindsay, Irene and her husband Murray Howe of Bruce Twp., and Anne of Port Elgin. Grandfather of Mark and Sarah Howe, brother of Lorraine (Mrs. Donald Brown) of Owen Sound. Predeceased by one sister Doreen, by brothers Bill, Lloyd and Walter Brannick, by his foster-brother “Red” Mercer, and by his son-in-law Bill Storms. He is also predeceased by his parents Edmond and Bertha Brannick.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) on Monday, December 17th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m., with Elder Mac Irvine officiating.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340, Port Elgin will hold a memorial service in the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m.

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Friday, December 14, 2001, at the age of 55 years, Wayne Eagen of Southampton, husband of the former Mary Kennedy, father of Ryan and his fiancee Janna Bell, and Shane all of Port Elgin, stepfather of Michelle and her husband Peter Kelly of Tweed, Lorie and her husband Mike Hill of Port Elgin, Sean Kennedy and his wife Theresa of Surrey, B.C., Simon Kennedy and his fiancee Lori Nuttall of Mississauga, Sarah and her husband Don Matheson of Southampton, and Susanne Kennedy of Burlington. Grandfather of Karleena, Nigel and Sarena Kelly, Nolan Kelly, and Victoria and Nicholas Matheson. Brother of Sue-Anne Pidcoke of Chatham, Brian Eagen and his wife Sandra of Wyoming, Rick Eagen and his wife Corinne of Windsor, Dennis O’Rourke and his fiancee Margie Taylor of Muirkirk, Karen and her husband Mike Vannieuwenhuyze and Shelley and her husband Alan Joseph, all of Ridgetown. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Phyllis O’Rourke, and is survived by his nieces and nephews.

Suddenly at the Grey-Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Friday, December 7th 2001, the former Shirley Tomlinson. Wife of Rod Avis of Southampton. Mother of Julie and her husband Jack Wilkinson of Belle Vallee, Ontario, Janice and her husband Rod Bateman of Fort McMurray, AB., Libby and her husband Mark Smithson of Newtonville, and Robert Dollar and Michael Dollar, both of London. She is survived by her ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and by her mother Lucile Tomlinson of Hampton Court, Southampton. Predeceased by her first husband Bill Dollar.

McGee, Barry Charles

Suddenly in Port Elgin on Thursday, December 6th, 2001 at the age of 49 years, Barry McGee of Port Elgin, dear son of Forbes and Helen McGee of Sarnia. He is survived by his brother Bryan and his wife Hazel, and by his sister Brenda and her husband Bill Black, all of Glencoe and by Trudy McGee of Chicago. He is survived by brother-in-law Bruce Turner and his wife Darlene of London, and by several nieces and nephews. Barry is predeceased by his sister Beth Turner, and by his brother Brant McGee.

Dear mother of Laura and her husband Terry Maynard of Kitchener. Beloved grandmother of Sara, Aaron, and Matthew Maynard. Sister of Harry Horsnell and his wife Anne of Port Elgin. She is also survived by one niece Linda Aldridge and by one nephew Kevin Aldridge. She is predeceased by her sister Doreen Aldridge.

Brother of Herman Witteveen and Mia Maems, both in Holland, and Catherine VanBeek, and Harry, John and Gordon Witteveen, all in Ontario.

In Southampton on Thursday, February 28th, 2002 in his 84th year, Antonio Sousa of Port Elgin. Father of Antonio and his wife Maria, Eduardo and his wife Maria, all of Toronto, Gabriel and his wife Almerinda of Port Elgin, Joe and his wife Maria of Calgary, and John and his wife Connie of Toronto. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Brother of Gil of Ottawa, Manuel of Toronto, Deolinda of Portugal. He is predeceased by two great-granddaughters.

Marie, and Janice and her husband Dennis Haggerty of Port Elgin. Grandmother of Leslie of Victoria B.C., Laurie of Barrie, and Angelique and her husband Dave Griffiths of Port Elgin, and great-grandmother of Ronnie, Robert, Ashley, Tyler and Madelynn. Sister of Jean Allen of Ireland.

A family funeral gathering was held at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores), on Monday, March 4th 2002, with a funeral service conducted by the Rev. Gordon Williams following.
