Hodge, Albert James "Bert"

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Saturday evening, March 30, 2002, at the age of 67 years, Bert Hodge, husband of Mary Hodge, and the late Shirley Hodge, father of Patricia and her husband Ted Brill of Southampton, Joseph Hodge and his wife Barb of Edmonton, Ronald Hodge of Windsor, Catherine Hodge of Niagara Falls, and Jennifer Hodge of Port Elgin. Stepfather of Shelley and her husband Doug Charlton of Strathroy, Kim and her husband Kevin Shears, and Jeff Price, all of Owen Sound. Bert is survived by thirteen grandchildren, and by six brothers and five sisters. He is predeceased by two sisters and one brother.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Watson officiating.

Interment Southampton cemetery.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340, Port Elgin will hold a memorial service in the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m.

Kramer, Donald Delor - "Ben"

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Friday, April 5th, 2002, at the age of 70, Ben Kramer of Port Elgin. Husband of Joanne Kramer. Dad of Debbie and her husband Rick Bykowski of Edmonton and Mark and his wife Kim of Barrie. Son-in-law of Jennie Riddle of Sarnia. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alexandra, Andrew John and Sarah and brothers Glen and Jim. Predeceased by his son John and brothers Bill and Bob.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) prior to the funeral service at 2.00.p.m. on Friday, April 12. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel at 2.00.p.m. with the Rev. Julia Morden officiating.

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Saturday evening, April 6, 2002, at the age of 78 years, Joe Baker of Port Elgin, husband of the former Aileen McNally, father of Wayne and his wife Anne of Port Perry, Brenda and James Smith of Woodstock, Patricia of Owen Sound, Gary and his wife Marilyn of Port Elgin, and Carol and her husband Gui Goncalves of Maryland. Grandpa to Michael and Gary Baker, Devin York, Mathew Lancaster, Selena Smith, Katherine and Robert Baker, Orlando and Joleena Goncalves. Brother of Laurene Baker, Betty Harris, and Gayle Baker, all of London. Brother-in-law of Harold McNally and his wife Doris, and Arthur McNally and his wife Jean, all of Meaford.

Clazie, John James

Suddenly at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the age of 41 years, John Clazie of Saugeen Township. Husband of the former Julie MacLeod. Father of Robbie and Dan, both at home. Son of Jim and Edna Clazie of Saugeen Township, and grandson of Jean Clazie of Port Elgin and the late Grant Clazie. Brother of Cathy Thomas and her friend Wally Brown of Port Elgin, Jean and her husband Dennis Berner of Saugeen Township, Marj Malcolm and her friend Fred Cook of Grand Bend, and David and his wife Peggy of Paisley. Son-in-law of Doris MacLeod. He is survived by 25 nieces and nephews, and will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends.

Besito, Lennox Marshall Joseph

Suddenly on Thursday, April 11th, 2002, at the age of 36 years, Lennox Besito of the Saugeen First Nation. Son of Rowland and Mary Besito of Saugeen First Natio. Brother of Sylvia and her husband, Hubert John, Arron, Lori and her husband, Lorne Mandawoub, Philomen, Helena and Corinna Besito and Eliza Jane Henry, all of the Saugeen First Nation. Grandson of Louisa Mitchell and survived by his aunts and uncles and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the residence of Sylvia and Hubert John, #196 Scotch Settlement Rd., on Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated in Wesley United Church, Saugeen, on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Frank McGee and the Rev. Eleanor Russ officiating.

Brannick, Mary Marguerite

Faithful member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, (presently the Community of Christ), Last Charter and Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Branch 340, Port Elgin

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services in Southampton on Saturday, April 13, 2002, at the age of 83 years, Marguerite Brannick. Wife of the late T.A. “Pete” Brannick. Mother of Janice Storms of Lindsay, Irene and her husband Murray Howe of Bruce Twp., and Ann of Port Elgin. Grandma of Mark and Sarah Howe. Marg is fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Coral Mercer of Southampton, and by several nieces and nephews of the Mercer and Vennard families. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph Vennard and the former Esther Macdonald, by her son-in-law Bill Storms, by one sister Irene Vennard, and by two brothers Alex and Clarence Vennard.

At the Southampton Care Centre, on Monday, April 15, 2002, at the age of 90 years, the former Helen Bell. Wife of the late Walker Daniel. Mother of Margaret Esplen of Port Elgin, Elaine and her husband Jim Esplen of Burgoyne, and Doreen and her husband Bev Wark of Port Elgin. Grandma of Rick Esplen, Maxine Houle, Ken Esplen, Lisa Cobean, Kerrie Andrews, Scott Wark, Tanya Wolfe and Sarah Wark. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren, and three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bell, Isabel Bell and Hazel Reed. She is predeceased by two brothers Bob and Jack Bell, and by her son-in-law Mac Esplen.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother Charles, and by two sisters Mary and Jean.

Father of Edith and her husband Joseph Torbay of Cambridge, and Jim and his wife Shawnee of Port Elgin. “Gramps” to Christopher and his wife Danielle, Michael and his fiancee Carolyn McPherson, and Nicole, Erica and Clayton. Great-grandpa of Jordan Alexandra. Brother of Mickey Johnstone and her husband Bob of Oakville, Pat Flippance and his wife Mary of Hornby, and Pete Flippance and his wife Mary Lou of Meaford. Predeceased by one sister Rosaline Flippance.

Peacefully at his home in Paisley, on Saturday, April 20th, 2002, at the age of 87, Fred Fohring of Paisley. Beloved husband of the former Margaret Mueller. Dear father of Fred of Fergus, Helmut and Sharon, Roland and Karen, all of Kitchener, and Norm and Chris of Ayr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Karin, Mike, Cassie, and Jason and by his great-granddaughter, Christa.
