Underhill, Harry Emmerson

Owner of Harry's Auto Body

At his home in Southampton, on Sunday, April 28th, 2002 at the age of 55 years, Harry Underhill of Southampton. Husband of the former Marion Sinden. Father of Teresa and her husband Steve Price of Mitchell, Cheryl and her husband Paul Ireland of Paisley, and Karla, Ryan and Nancy, all of Southampton. Poppa of Megan Price, and Nicole and Christopher Ireland. He is also survived by his mother Cora Underhill of Kincardine. Brother of Audrey Williams of Southampton, Brian Underhill of Red Deer, Alberta, Donna Judd, and Brenda Fisher, both of Kincardine, and Bruce of B.C. Survived by his uncle Carl Underhill and his wife Dee of Lakefield. He is predeceased by his father Paul Underhill.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be conducted in Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce St., Port Elgin, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gordon Williams officiating.

Interment Southampton cemetery.

Woods, Harry

Peacefully at his residence in Port Elgin on Monday, May 6, 2002, at the age of 78 years, Harry Woods of Port Elgin, husband of Joyce Woods, father of Stephen Woods of Philadelphia, PA., and Lesley and her husband Wayne Eastwood of Port Elgin, Grandpa to Ryan and Owen Woods, both in England, Scott and his wife Colleen, Kerry and her boyfriend Rob Caramount of Port Elgin, and Grant Eastwood and his girlfriend Andrea Gifford of Peterborough. Also surviving are his two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Brittany Eastwood.

Private family funeral arrangements are being conducted, and are in the care of the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel.

Memorial contributions to the Saugeen Shores Medical Clinic Building Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Grant, Mary

At Guelph General Hospital on Monday, May 13, 2002 in her 91st year, the former Mary Threndyle of Paisley. Beloved wife of the late James H. Grant. Dear mother of James and his wife Johanna of Brandon, Manitoba, Mary Lou and her husband Dr. Sami Haddad of Sacramento, California, the late Jean and her husband Robert Knox of Orillia, Lenore and her husband Jim Hope of Paisley, and Frank of London. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and by her brother Jim Threndyle of Walkerton. She is predeceased by her brother Art Kerry.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. S., Paisley, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral service will be conducted in Knox United Church, Paisley on Friday at 11:00a.m. with the Rev. Murray Rounding officiating.

Stewart, MacLaren "Mac"
(Royal Canadian Infantry overseas 1941-1945)

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, surrounded by all his family on Thursday, May 16th, 2002, at the age of 80 years, Mac Stewart of Saugeen Shores. Husband of Peggy Stewart. Father of Dianne and her husband Rick Aubin of Saugeen Shores, Dennis and his wife Joan of Paisley, and Steven of Paisley. Grandpa to Steve and Rob Aubin, Andy and Sarah Stewart, and Kalley Stewart. Also surviving are three brothers, Lewis and his wife Mae of Lindsay, Lavern and his wife Gladys of Oshawa, and Harold and his wife Mabel of McArthur’s Mills and his sisters-in-law, Gladys and Mary Stewart. He is predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Clifford, and Milton.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, (Town of Saugeen Shores) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Savage and the Rev. Ken Wild officiating.

At the Grey-Bruce Health Services in Southampton, on Saturday, May 18, 2002, at the age of 71 years, Ruth Gareau, wife of Fernand Gareau of Saugeen Shores, mother of Brenda Royea of Mansonville, Quebec, Terry and Donnie Cooper of Scarborough, Neil Hesch and his wife Judy of Holstein, Wanda Gibbons and her husband Joe of Port Elgin, Mark Gareau at home, Lori Watson of Port Elgin, Scott Hesch and his wife Bonnie of Dresden, and Michelle Hesch of Chatham. Stepmother of Daniel Gareau, Eugene Gareau and his wife Cathy, Donald Gareau and Conrad Gareau and his wife Ann. Grandmother of Tammy, Timmy, Jennifer, Justin, Megan, Dylan, Candice, Makenna, Crystal, Felicia, Joe, Rebecca, Julia, Christopher, Adam, Kelly, Alexis, Shawn, John, Terry, Tina, Dale, Jasmine, Jeremy, Tynon and Julia. Great-grandmother of Abbey, Elizabeth, Joshua and Dusty. She is survived also by her brothers and sisters Bunny McClure and his wife Mavis, Winnie Bedard and her husband Dale, Barbara Ducharme, and Larry McClure all of Mansonville, Quebec, and by sister-in-law Laurie Beauparland of Oshawa.

Private family funeral arrangements are being conducted with Father Robert Hudson of St. Joseph’s Church, Port Elgin officiating, and are in the care of the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 823-2222.

At the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, on Sunday, May 19th, 2002, at the age of 82 years, Roy Spracklin of Paisley, husband of Margaret Spracklin, father of Bob of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and Elizabeth and her husband Jeffrey Gandz of London. Grandpa to Ryan W. Spracklin of Edmonton, and Erica Spracklin of Saskatoon. He is survived by two sisters, Hazel Seedhouse of Don Mills, and Gwen Casement of Richmond Hill, one brother Lawrence Spracklin of Hagersville, by one cousin Berenice McLaren of Toronto, and by many nieces and nephews. His family gratefully acknowledges Roy’s “Special Angel”, Judy Leslie.

She is also survived by her brothers Jim and Alvin Cumming and sisters Nellie Johnston and Ethel Cober. Predeceased by grandson Janson.

Dear mother of Marguerite and her husband Alvin Hemstock of Weston, Dorothy and her husband Jim Needham of Lucknow, Mary and her husband Bill Armbrust of Jordon, and Doug and his wife Louise of Ottawa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her sister, Mamie Docherty of Toronto, and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Houston, Winnifred Howe and Dorothy Ransome.

passed away peacefully at her residence in Southampton late in the evening on Monday, June 17th, 2002, at the age of 90 years, Maude Lyver, wife of the late Patrick Lyver, Mother of Margaret Jackson of Southampton, Josephine and her husband Don Head of Buchans, Nfld., Mary and her husband Lew Chaulk, and Joan and her husband Barry Carter all of of Labrador, Nfld., Andrew and his wife Madeline of St. John’s, Nfld., Patrick and his wife Rita of Buchans, Nfld., Nicholas and his friend Maureen of Mississauga, and Calvin and his wife Lawrie of Sebright, Ont. She is survived by sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, one brother Michael of Halifax, and one sister Annie Nolan of Harricot, Nfld. Predeceased by sisters Sadie Byrne, Mary Chayter, Jessie Noseworthy and Helen Mitchell, and by brothers Peter, Bernard and John Byrne.

Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Southampton on Thursday morning at 11 a.m ., with Father Robert Hudson as celebrant. Interment St. Patrick's cemetery , Southampton.

Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 8.30 p.m.
