COULTHART, Gertrude Mary - At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 at the age of 92 years, the former Gertrude Gunn of Port Elgin and formerly of Ingleside, Ontario. Wife of the late Eldred Coulthart. Mother of Bob and his wife Patricia of Port Elgin and Heather Coulthart and her husband Barry Adams of Vancouver, B.C. Grandma to Val Coulthart, Leah Coulthart- Howe and her husband Todd Howe, and Ryan Adams. Great-grandma to Darcy and Clara Howe. Sister of Art Gunn and his wife Verda of Chesley. Sister-in-law of Mildred Coulthart of Long Sault. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Robert, Ken, Donald and John. A memorial service will be conducted in the W. KENT MILROY PORT ELGIN CHAPEL, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores) on Saturday, October 21st, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Johnston officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Lawrence Valley cemetery , Long Sault, Ontario. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

George Edward Guyer

GUYER, George Edward - At the Southampton Care Centre on Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 at the age of 87 years, George Guyer of Port Elgin. Husband of the former Mabel McTeer. Father of Ted and his wife Eva of Saugeen Township, and Michael of Owen Sound, He is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his sister Lois McTeer of Paisley, and by his daughter-in-law Marsha Guyer. Predeceased by his son Stephen, three sisters, and one brother. A memorial service will be conducted at the Community of Christ Church, corner of Market St.and Bricker St, Port Elgin on Monday, October 23rd, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder A.J.V. Leeder officiating. Interment Sanctuary Park cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. #340, Port Elgin will hold a memorial service in the church on Monday morning at 10:45 a.m. Memorial contributions to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. MELOSHE, Pearl Agnes - Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at the Ottawa Hospital on Monday October 16, 2006 in her 90th year. Born in Bentinck Township, Ontario, daughter of Margaret and Thomas Shewell. Beloved wife of the late Francis Patrick Meloshe and cherished mother of Nancy (Dr. Ian Pragnell), Mary (Dr. Phyllis Hierlihy), Patrice (Elmer Tumak) and Timothy. Dear sister of Helen Hill (Norman) of Windsor, Ontario and sister-in-law of Wilfred and Helen Meloche of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Walter, Charles and Stanley, and; by her sisters Isabel Hurley and Violet Hogan of Owen Sound. Pearl was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Owen Sound. There are angels too numerous to mention among the doctors, residents, nurses, therapists and administrative staff at the Ottawa Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute who treated Pearl with professionalism, dedication and compassion. Your kindnesses were deeply appreciated. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt note of thanks to: Dr. John Seeley of the Ottawa Hospital, Pearl's family physician and tireless advocate, Dr. Priscilla Bright, Father John DeCoste, and caregivers, Reta Currie and Eileen Whiteley. Bernice Ellenora Pienta

PIENTA, Bernice Ellenora - September 30, 1927 ~ October 18, 2006 - It is with great sadness that the family of Bernice Pienta announces her passing. She was a companion and life-long partner to her husband Stanley. A devoted mother and friend to Gail, Jacqueline, and Sherry (husband Dennis). She was a devoted Nana to her four grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Bernice was a survivor - beating leukemia and breast cancer. She bravely succumbed to lung and brain cancer. Bernice was an inspiration to all who met her. Bernice had an uplifting spirit and great sense of humour. She will be loved, missed and never forgotten by all those who were touched by her heart. Cremation has taken place. At the request of the family, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bernice and can be made through the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. An Oak tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow in memory of Bernice.

SCHOLES, Norma Elizabeth - At the Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton Wednesday morning October 18, 2006. The former Norma Brown of Sauble Beach in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Ray Scholes. Loving mother of Joan White and her partner Fred of Bobcaygeon, Dorothy Howell of Sauble Beach and Jim and his wife Carol of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. A Celebration of Norma's Life will be conducted from the Sauble Christian Fellowship Church, Sauble Beach, Saturday afternoon November 11 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dave Oppertshauser officiating. A private family interment at Zion cemetery has been held. Beloved husband of Peggy for 51 years. Loving father to Neil (Terri), Paul (Debbie), Sue and Charlie Jackson. Dear grandfather of Lindsay, Lisa, Nicole, Amanda, Melissa, Tracey and Jason, great-grandfather of Tristan, Torin, Seth, Janeke, Lillianna, Oliver and Maya. Dear brother of Bob and Molly Hatch, Ruth and David Allen, Neil and Dorothy Hatch, brother-in-law of Pamela Hatch, Wyn and Brian West and Julie Ross all of the U.K. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Bill Hatch. Harry was born in Saffron Walden, U.K.; was the retired Vice-President of Corporate Services at Fiberglas Canada, a Fiberglas Canada employee for 35 years, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. At Harry's request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Rae was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was passionate about his farm and animals large and small. Rae was a dedicated worker for many years as Road Superintendent with Enniskillen and Brooke Townships, as well as his involvement as a councilor with Enniskillen Township. Loving father to Ann Tuplin and husband Jim Barker, Lynn Piggott, and Jim (Shrie) Piggott. Step-father Karen (Wayne) Eckert, Scott (Wendy) McLean, and Doug (Wendy) McLean. Cherished grandfather of Kurits Barker, Kaitlyn and Rae Piggott, Kelly and Lindsay Eckert, Heather, Emma Alex, Janelle, and Isaac McLean. Predeceased by his granddaughter Jamilyn Piggott (2000). Also survived by brothers Ross (Mary Louise 2005) Piggott, Doug (Patricia) Piggott and sister-in-law Marion (Beverly 2005) Piggott. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends will always remember him for his honesty and his sense of humour. Much loved grandmother of Lisa (Peter), John (Nicole), Taunia (Brian), Tiffany, Kyle and Felisha. Loving great- grandmother of Larissa, Pierce and Caleb. Dear sister of Mervin Greene of Leamington and Murray and Rhea Greene of Exeter. Loving sister-in-law of Don and Nadine White of Simcoe. Predeceased by a brother Gerald Greene. COURTNEY, Norine (Nana) - Peacefully, after a courageous battle, surrounded by love and angels on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Sault Area Hospital. Norine was one month short of her 91st birthday. Beloved wife of the late Clyde. We said goodbye to the loving mother of Linda Jonasson (Wayne) and Charles Courtney (Carol). Cherished Nana of Tracy Gingras (Ray), Kris Jonasson (Tammy), Eric Jonasson (Liz), Sarah Courtney (Matt) and Katie Courtney. She will be sadly missed by her two great grandchildren Sebastien and Courtney. Fondly remembered by her many friends at Horseshoe Bay and the Finnish Resthome (Kotitalo).
