Loving father of Richard Van Bolhuis of Chatham, Grace and her husband Simon Nagel of Chicago, Illnois, Cecil Van Bolhuis and his partner Nicole Girard of Montreal, and Rene and her husband Bob Borrowman of Chatham. He will be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren and his four great grandchildren. Loving father-in-law of Simone Van Bolhuis of St. Mary’s. Mr. Van Bolhuis was born in 1913 in Holland and was the loving son of the late Derk and Geeske Van Bolhuis. He is survived by his sister Heiltje, and twenty four nephews and nieces all of Holland. Predeceased by his son Dirk (1991) and his five brothers. After immigrating to Canada in 1952, George pursued his love of farming. He also worked for many years at Libby’s. Mr. Van Bolhuis has been a member of the First Reformed Church in Chatham since 1952. He was well known for his love of sports and coached and participated in many as a young man and continued to play golf until his late seventies.
