Fernande (nee Seguin) Gamache
GAMACHE, Fernande (nee Seguin) - of Rockland, Ontario, died peacefully after a long fight with cancer on October 18, 2006 at Linhaven Home for the Aged at the age of 89. Fern is survived by her sister Yvonne LaPash of Willmington, Delaware; son George Gamache and a granddaughter native of St. Catharines. Mrs. Gamache was a government employee in Ottawa for many years retiring from the UIC in St. Catharines. She has been a devout Catholic member of Paroise Immaculee Conception for over 50 years. She is most remembered by countless friends for her tireless volunteer work with families of alcoholics. A memorial service will be held in the auditorium at Linhaven Home, 403 Ontario Street on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent in the afternoon prior to the service. Ladell worked at Prestolite for 26 years, She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years, as well as the Legion Ladies Auxillary. She was past president of the Ladies Auxillary Branch 216. She was also Zone “A“ Sports Officer for several years. Currently she is a life time member of Branch 388 Wyoming Ladies Auxillary. She worked for several years as a health care aide at Twilight Haven and enjoyed her holidays at Pike Bay, Ontario.
