GUIOU, Lorna Peacefully at the Civic Hospital on Saturday, October 5, 2002, aged 69 years. Beloved daughter of the late Dr. Norman and Ella Guiou. Loving sister of Atherton Wallace (Anne Marie). Friends may attend a funeral service at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at 12 noon. Interment Pinecrest cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada.

Lillian Millwood Hancox - 10/08/2002

On Thursday, October 3, 2002. Beloved wife and partner for 60 years of the late Leonard. Predeceased by her cherished daughter Carol Poulter (George). Loving and devoted mother of Gail Cook (George). Proud grandmother of Kim Leemhuis (Rob), Erin Poulter (Ren Garneau) and Allison and Carolyn Cook. Dear sister of Muriel Corbett, Doris Davies and the late Ethel Sadleir. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at 11am. In memory of Lillian donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Laurette Johns - 10/09/2002

At Laurier Manor on Tuesday, October 8th, 2002 at the age of 95 years. Predeceased by her husband Gordon. Mother of Doris Patenaude (the late Dieu-Donn ), Ida Ryan, Elaine Lalonde (Marcel), Bertha, Rick (Beverley), Denis (Suzanne), also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 435 Montreal Road on Friday, October 11th, 2002 at 10am. Interment Clarence cemetery. The family wishes to express their thanks to the 4th Floor Staff at Laurier Manor for their compassionate care and love. Arrangements in care of the Memorial Funeral Home of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

Peacefully at home in his 55th year on Wednesday, October 9, 2002. Beloved father of Brent and Devin. Good friend of Judy Brancati. Dear brother of Barry (Joanne), Rick (Lynda), Michael (Shannon). Eldest son of Madeline and the late James Knox. Will be sadly missed by nieces Jessica, Laura, Emily, Sarah, Madeline, Mackenzie and nephew Michael. Friends may visit the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue on Friday, October 11, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service to be held at a later date. For those wishing donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Jacques, with his family by his side, passed away on October 5, 2002. He enjoyed a full and rich life with family and friends. from his boyhood in Lower Town to his service in the RCAF in World War II. Jacques professional career in the Civil Service spanned more than 30 years, culminating in active retirement including relaxing winters in Florida. His life had been shared by his wives Nora, Helmi and Alma and daughter Jacqueline. He will be fondly remembered by his family including daughter Elaine (Aubrey Osborne), son Roger (Heather), brother Paul (Th r se) , his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with his many good friends. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Monday, October 7, 2002 from 1 p.m. until time of the service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Prouse Mary Celestine - 10/11/2002

PROUSE, Mary Celestine (nee Plunkett) Peacefully in hospital on Wednesday October 9, 2002, Mary Celestine Prouse of Ottawa and Farrellton, PQ, age 87. Beloved wife of the late Robert Kitchener Prouse. Dear mother of Susan (Manny) Montsion, Rob (Eleanor) Prouse, and Kathy (Garry) McDougall. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Nancy, Susan and Pamela, Nicole, and Jean, Angela, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Great grandmother of Chris, Emma and Matthew. Dear sister of Norbert (Grace), Carmel and Connor. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Catherine, brother Frank, and granddaughter Karen. She was a special education teacher at Heron Park and Arch St. schools until her retirement in 1979 and will be fondly remembered by the many students to whom she devoted her tireless energy and exceptional skills. Past president and current member of the local chapter of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, and devoted a great deal of her time to various committees in her condominium building. To celebrate Celestine's life friends may visit the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. Ottawa, on Monday October 14, 2002 from 1pm until service time in the Chapel at 2pm. Cremation has taken place and interment in the family plot at Farrellton will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Ottawa area Lung Association would be appreciated.

Gordon Clare McFadyen - 10/09/2002

Peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 after a long illness, in his 77th year Beloved husband for 53 years of Marg. Father to Brent of Canmore, Alberta, Brenda of Kitchener, ON, Brian of Sechelt,B.C., and Karen (John Hearty) of Ottawa. Pround grandfather to Chelsea and Tyler Heardy. Brother of Pauline (the late Donald Shaw), Eldon (Helen), Eileen (James Freeman), Marjorie (Carl Watson) and the late Donald. No visitation, as per Clare's request. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration at Cityview United Church, 6 Epworth Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, October 12,2002 at 1p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Arrangements in care of the Memorial Fuenral Home of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 584 Somerset street. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Dear daughter-in-law of Lloyd and Helen Patch of Kingston. Dear sister-in-law of Jon (Cathy) Patch of Victoria BC., Jeff (Janet) Patch of Nasonworth NB, and Linda Baker (John Coenraads) of Kingston. During her long battle with cancer, Bev and her family found comfort and strength through faith in their Saviour Jesus Christ. Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses who gave loving care to Bev over the years. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St., on Tuesday, October 8 from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Metropolitan Bible Church, 453 Bank at Gladstone on Wednesday, October 9 at 1 p.m. Those wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Metropolitan Bible Church.
