Eva Gibson

GIBSON, Eva Gertrude (nee Saunders)- was born March 1, 1923 in Charlton, Ontario. She was the daughter of Francis & Charles Saunders. She passed away peacefully at the home of her eldest daughter Cheryl's in Nakusp B.C. on the early morning of January 13, 2007. Eva grew up in Charlton, Ontario, married her husband Johnny July 3, 1941. They moved to King Kirkland where she lived until she moved to Nakusp B.C. Jan. 2006. Eva was predeceased by her husband John on July 11, 2002 and by sons Morley and Dwight, grandson Travis Weisflock, son-in-law Ira Geddes, sisters Verna Bain, Edith Gibson, Violet Scott and brother Howard Saunders. Eva will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters Cheryl (Harvey) Truax of Nakusp, B.C., Vanessa Geddes of King Kirkland, Merina (Don) Weisflock of Kirkland Lake, and son Jimmy (Sirpa) Gibson of Kirkland Lake. Grandchildren Vickey (Scott) Mcleod, of Alberta, Cheryl (Kevin) Black, Tweyla (Jason) Simpson, Harvey (Jen) Truax of B.C. Grant (Bobbi Jo) Geddes of King Kirkland, Kyle (Laura) Geddes of King Kirkland, Jamie, Graham and Johnny Gibson of Kirkland Lake, and 14 great grandchildren. Eva also leaves behind sisters Evelyn Lyons, June Hanson, brothers Jim Saunders and Glen Saunders and many nieces and nephews. Eva was a member of the Encore Club in Kirkland Lake since 1984. She enjoyed playing bridge and crib and also did many hours of volunteering. She was bookkeeper for 14 years for the Road Commission in King Kirkland. When the King Kirkland School was in operation, she was janitor for a few years. The family of Eva Gibson will hold a Memorial Celebration of her life at a later date, to be announced.

Brian Dominic Mooney

MOONEY, Brian Dominic - Suddenly at home in Toronto on December 31, 2006 in his 55th year. Survived by his mother Joan Mooney (Dom 1993) of Lindsay, his four sons, and brothers Terrence (Cathy) of British Columbia and Robert of Lindsay, sister Brenda Jeanne Knowles (Chris) of Ottawa and girlfriend Jean of Toronto. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial service was held on Monday, January 8, 2007 in Toronto.

Annie May Norton

NORTON, Annie May - entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the age of 81. Annie Carroll was the beloved wife of the late Howard Norton. Loving mother of Shirley Poirier of Oshawa, Don and his wife Elaine of Hamilton Linda Osmond and her husband Cal, Wasaga Beach, Janet MacLeod and her husband Terry of Omemee and Ralph and his wife Bernice of Bowmanville. Predeceased by one daughter Judy. Cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildlren. Dear sister of Helen Martin of Lindsay, Carman and his wife Yvonne Carroll of Manitoba, Myrtle and her husband Carl Farley of Bath, Millie Powers of Oromocto, N.B., Llylle and his wife Joyce Carroll of Newcastle, Marebeth and her husband Bob Trottier of Belleville, Madeline and her husband Peter Grant of Noelville. Predeceased by her brother Ken. Survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Blakely of Picton. Family and friends are invited to call at the MACKEY FUNERAL HOME, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in he chapel on Saturday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough. If desired, memorial donations to Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.

Carol Lynne Copeland

COPELAND, Carol Lynne - Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 14, 2007; in her 65th year. Carol (nee Brain), of Warminster, beloved wife of Brian. Dear sister of Jim Brain and wife Margaret of Orillia. Aunt Carol is loved and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A private family service was held with interment at St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations made to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family. INGRAM, James Alexander - at University Hospital, on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, James Alexander Ingram, of London, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Harriet Joan (Chambers) Ingram. Dear father of Roslyn Ingram (Les Cook), Alan (Nancy), and Carolyn Ingram (Matthew Humeniuk). Loving grandfather of Jason (Mikiko), Catherine (Mike McLean), Alexander, Rachael, Madelaine, Bridget, Emma and 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Dorothy Tyrrell (late Harold) and their children David (Norma), Heather, Virginia (Dan Dwyer), and two great nieces and nephews. James was a member and Past Master of Doris Lodge Lobo AF & AM #289, Past President of the Ilderton Curling Club as well as a member in good standing of the G.O.R.F.'S. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London where the funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment, Churchville cemetery , Brampton. Beloved brother of Ben Bates and his wife, Lorraine, of Oshawa, Bob Bates and his wife Maureen, of Whitby, and Alice Crossley and her husband, Ralph, of Elmira. Bob will be missed by his sister-in- law, Isabelle Bates, of Meaford and many nieces and nephews. Special uncle to John and Lillie, Jonathan, Jen and Tessa Bates. Loved mother of Dennis and his wife Wanda, Perry and his wife Heather and Michael and his wife Diana, all of Durham. Dear sister of Glenna (Bob) Monk and Marilyn (Archie) Lindsay, all of Durham. Sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her friend Bill Dwyer. Predeceased by her brothers Royden, Donnie, Kenneth and Leonard and her sister Joy Talbot. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT-McEACHERN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, Durham, Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Beloved husband of 52 years of Luella (Buchanan) Leith. Loved father of Barb Cassells of Durham and Beth Leith of Mount Forest. Loving grandfather of Alex and Katie Cassells. Dear brother of Harvey Leith of Dromore. Ken is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Gordon and Arthur Leith and sister Margaret Muir. NEUWELT - At London Health Sciences Centre - University Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 Michael Neuwelt in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Madonna (Donna) Neuwelt. Loving father of Barbara Neuwelt, Paul Neuwelt and his late wife 'Gosia', Patricia Neuwelt and her husband Robin Kearns, Andrea Murphy and her husband Scott and Peter Neuwelt and his wife Margo. Proud 'Papa' of Simon Neuwelt- Broder and Eric Broder, Matthew and Dominika Neuwelt, Liam and Caitlin Neuwelt- Kearns, Colleen, Falon and Natasha Murphy and Mark and Michael Bazant. Dear brother of Anne Jackson (Stephen) and the late Eva Kenyon. Michael was a retired highschool principal in Owen Sound and an active member of Habitat for Humanity in London. There will be no funeral home visitation. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Justin's Church, 855 Jalna Blvd., London, on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer at St Mary's Parish, Owen Sound. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Marian Villa and University Hospital ICU, London. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice. Loving husband of the former Hazel Mae Kight-Rogers of Thornbury. Predeceased by his first wife, the former Hope Irene Rogers in 1984. Dear father of Sylvia Bell of Meaford. Stepfather of Donald Rogers (Marjorie) of Annan, Harold Rogers (Katherine) of Meaford and Ruth Green (Michael) of Hamilton. Fondly remembered by 13 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Grace United Church in Thornbury on Sunday from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be conducted at Grace United Church in Thornbury on Monday January 22nd at 2 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union cemetery. Kathleen Betty Worthington

WORTHINGTON, Kathleen Betty - passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Lions Head Hospital on January 17, 2007 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late John R. Worthington (2000). Much loved Mother of Joan Ionson (Roy) of Chesley, Judi Moffat (Bill) of Burlington and John Worthington of Tobermory. Loving Grandma of Bruce Ionson (Kelly), Lee Ionson (Kate), Judi Martindale, Roberta Cuthbertson (Mike), Nancy Moffat (Chessie) and Susan Levy (Dave). Betty was a very special 'Gigi' to great grandchildren Sarah, Katrina, Heather, Madison and Victoria. She will be sadly missed by her brother Albert Tier (Marjorie) of St. Thomas and her sister Madeline Backius of Largo, Florida. Betty was predeceased by her parents Frank and Daisy Tier and grandson-in-law Paul Martindale. Betty was born in St. Thomas, Ontario and lived a very full life which included a vast number of friends. It was a privilege to know her. After many wonderful years spent raising a family in Hamilton, Betty and John spent their retirement years in Florida and Barrow Bay. She was a fine Christian lady who was vivacious, energetic and a tremendous volunteer all of her life. In accordance with Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of Betty's life will be held at Christ Church Anglican, Lions Head on Saturday, January 20th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jawn Kolohon officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Interment to follow in Hamilton in May. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory to the Lion's Head Hospital or the charity of your choice would be very much appreciated by the family.

David Miles Clifford Byrne

BYRNE, David Miles Clifford - Suddenly passed away at his residence on January 16, 2007 in his 61st year. Loving husband of Carolyn (nee Porter). Caring father of David, Tom, Kevin & Cameron. Dear brother of Bryan & Peter (Kathy). Beloved son-in-law of Ted Porter and special brother-in-law to Dan Porter. David was born in Montreal and has lived in this area all of his life. He was employed by F.A.C.S. for over 30 years. All who knew him will miss David. The family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Vigil will be held Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church with Father Paul Vellakunnathu celebrant. Cremation will follow. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

LEVITT, Robert T. - At the St. Catharines General Hospital - NHS on Monday January 15, 2007 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 54 years of the late Edith (Cook) in 1999 and loving father of Russell (Carol), Randy (Denyse), Robert (Linda), William (Barbara), Ken (Sheri), Tom (Janice), Stuart (Muriel) and Bryan. He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty (Tom) Hamilton and Grace Bone. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Edna Levitt and one brother William. At Robert's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at Victoria Lawn cemetery at a later date. If desired memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mark Samuel Mussat

MUSSAT, Mark Samuel - Surrounded by his angels who carried him into the arms of his father Norm. Mark left this earth unexpectedly on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the young age of 37. Beloved husband of Tammy, devoted Daddy of Nicholas. Mark is survived by his loving Mom, Lesia, and stepfather Robert French. Dear brother of Michael (Kim), Terry (Becky), and their children, Justin, Jason, Colton, Caleb, Matthew, and Christopher. Survived by his Dido, Mike Sr., stepbrother Geoffrey (Helen), John (Wendy), Jason and Jamie French. Son-in-law of Margaret and Jim Gurman, brother-in-law of Charlene and Jennifer. Mark is predeceased by his loving father Norm (1990). Mark will be lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In his short life, with great humour, Mark spread love, kindness and strength to all who knew him. He not only had a passion for life but a passion for lawnmowers. In anticipation of his upcoming surgery Mark had a memorable, heartfelt Christmas at home that will be remembered forever by his family. Mark was employed with the City of St. Catharines. Mark is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, until Monday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn cemetery. Visiting hours are Saturday 7 to 9 and Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances to a Trust Fund for Mark's son Nicholas would be appreciated by the family. To live in the hearts left behind is not to die.
