Sidney Kellett

KELLETT, Sidney - Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 17th at the Linhaven Home for the Aged in his 78th year. Devoted and loving husband of Bonnie for 56 years and much loved father of Rod (Sue-Ellen), Debbie (Bob) and Cathy (Wilf). Lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Dolores “Sissy“ (Glen) and brother Garnet “Bunny“ - all of Haliburton, Ontario. Sid was employed for many years with the Region of Niagara where he worked as a truck driver. Sid's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, January 19th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 20th at 11 a.m. In keeping with Sid's desire, burial will take place in the spring at the Evergreen cemetery in Haliburton, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Ruth (nee Emmerson) Heaslip

HEASLIP, Ruth (nee Emmerson) - In loving memory of Ruth Heaslip (nee Emmerson), 88 years, who passed away at the St. Joseph's Health Centre Tuesday, January 16th, 2007. Born in Newtonards, Northern Ireland. She emigrated to Canada and married Eric E.G. Heaslip (predeceased 2005). Loving mother of Melany of California City, California, USA (Mickey Thomas), Eric (Carol) of Chelmsford, Anna (Derek Kearney) of Chelmsford and John (Elaine) of Schumacher, Ontario. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Lisa, Victoria, Alexandra, Aurora, Dawn, Krista, Emerson, John Jr., Taylor and Sean as well as 4 great grandchildren. An arts and crafts woman before her time. Her many creations decorated her home and cottage on the lake. She loved her cats and enjoyed the company of family, friends and neighbours. She will be forever missed but remains constant in our hearts. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Fund would be appreciated. No viewing, private family service only. (Arrangements entrusted to the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME).

Bill(y) Helmer

HELMER, Bill(y) - The family announces with sorrow his unexpected passing on Friday January 12th, 2007 at home aged 42 years of South Porcupine. Beloved husband of Christine Breton. Father of Kyle Thompson. Bill leaves behind his father Bill Sr. (Gerry) Helmer and his mother Ellen (Dave) Copping. Brother of Tammy (Flo), and John Brunet (Anna). He will be sadly missed by his grandmother Elaine Peters, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was born in South Porcupine and has been a lifetime resident of the Porcupine camp. He had been employed by Beals Taxi. He was an avid lacrosse player and hockey player in his youth and continued playing road hockey until recently. He was also a die hard Edmonton Oilers fan. Donations received through the funeral home to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association will be greatly appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at STINSON FUNERAL HOME on Saturday January 20th, 2007 at 1:00p.m with Rev. Bruce Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Arrangements entrusted to STINSON FUNERAL HOME, 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine (705) 235-2900.

Léo Maisonneuve

MAISONNEUVE, Léo - 1928-2007 - It is after a courageous battle with cancer that the family of Léo Maisonneuve announces his passing, in the home that he built. Léo was born in Timmins, Ontario on March 16th, 1928. Beloved husband of the late Ynès Maisonneuve (2005). Loving father and father-in-law to Hélène (Michel Jubinville) Maisonneuve of Clarence Creek, Rachel (Marcel Prud'homme) Maisonneuve of Timmins, Nicole (Daniel) Gillard of Timmins, Lise (Bill Carroll) Maisonneuve of Ottawa and Claude (Sharon) Maisonneuve of Timmins and Christine Maisonneuve of Welland. Predeceased by his son Ronald Maisonneuve, his parents Rosemay and Eugène Maisonneuve, by his brother Ovila (Jeanne-Rose) Maisonneuve, his sister Jeannine (Raymond) Mongeon. Loving brother to Lucie (Albert) Bond. Léo will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Christine (Paul- André David), Danielle, Yves, Céline, Anne, Jean-Luc, Sarah, Geneviève, Véronique, Jessica, Michael, Christopher, Matthew, Sophia, Sabrina and two great-grandchildren Chloé and Charlotte. Léo devoted a great deal of his working life with Malette Lumber as a saw-filer. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th, 2007 at St-Dominique Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Daffodil Terrace Lodge, Sudbury, Ontario or at the Community Care Access Centre (palliative care), Timmins, Ontario. “The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Mario Ciccone and Dr. Patrick Critchley, Sandra and Liz from Bayshore and finally Linda from the Red Cross for their continuous care and support to both our father and his family.” Funeral arrangements are in the care of MAISON FUNÉRAIRE LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. 705-268-4488.

Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren and 16 great-great- grandchildren. Predeceased by sons-in-law Claude and Garnet, 7 sisters and a brother. The Babcock family will receive friends at the BADDER VISITATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 679 North St., Dresden on Friday evening from 7-9pm. CALLENS, Madeline Marie (nee Lozon) - daughter of the late Victor & Lillian Lozon, dearly loved wife of Anthony Callens, was called home by our Heavenly Father to be with Him, and to be surrounded by His love and radiance for her eternal life, on Thursday, January 18, 2007, at the London Health Sciences Centre. Born September 13, 1942, she was a lady and easy to love. Loving mother of Carrol Staniforth and her husband Dan and granddaughters Krista, Danielle, and Melissa, and great granddaughter Chloe; Debbie Capell and her husband Paul and grandson Mark; Elaine Montgomery and grandsons Derek and Jason; and Colleen McKillican and grandson Tyler. Beloved stepmother of Diane Gagner and husband Dan and grandson Branton; Rose McClymont and husband Robert and grandson Jason and granddaughter Katie; Allen Callens and grandsons Nathan and Tristan and granddaughter Sabrina; and Gary Callens. Madelline will be missed by siblings Marie & Dennis Griffore, Elizabeth & Mike Davis, Roger & Pam Lozon, and Robert Lozon. Predeceased by sister Diane & Lionel Martin. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Sister of Carl Falle, Pearl LeMesurier both of London, May Hodge of Sherbrook, Quebec and Anne Lapargneaux of Calgary. Alice was the daughter of the late Frederick & Elvina (Coffin) Falle. Sadly missed by her granddaughters Shelley (Bill) Drummond of Barrie and Teresa of Ottawa and by her great-granddaughters Alex and Samantha. Survived by her sisters Marina (Felice) Ferri and Gianna Ferri of Italy and nieces Velia Moro and Dina Sabbadin of Toronto and nephews Gianni and Pierantonio Ferri of Italy. Predeceased by her brothers Angelino, Marino and Luigi. Maria came to Canada in 1953 and was a life member of the Italo Canadian Club and a long time parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. The family of the late Maria Belluz will receive friends and relatives at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME, (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, 705-567-3565) on Friday, January 19, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Parish on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Wayne Mills officiating.
