Mrs. Marie Viola Mccann

McCANN, Mrs. Marie Viola - “This world is not conclusion, A sequel lies beyond. Invisible as music But definite as sound.“ Peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday morning, January 16th, 2007, Mrs. Marie Viola McCann (nee Eberlee) of Chatham at the age of 94 years. Loving daughter of the late Charles and Fanny Jane (Huff) Eberlee. Dear wife of the late Arthur Key McCann (1995). She will be sadly missed by her brother Ross Eberlee and his wife Lois of Chatham, nephew David Eberlee and his wife Amy of Simcoe, and niece Gayle Gwilt and her husband Richard of Acton. Also survived by her step son Jack McCann and his wife Anne, step son-in-law Evan Arnold and his wife Eveyln, and step daughter Dorothy Wilson and her husband Larry. Also survived by several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Ernest, Harley, George and Louis, and sisters Grace Roach and Georgina Ferguson. Marie was a long time member of Chatham Baptist Church and the Lena Dick Mission Circle. In her earlier years, she sang in the choir at Chatham Baptist Church. Marie worked in the office of Sunnen Products Co. Ltd (now Guspro Inc.) until her retirement. Family and friends are invited to the ALEXANDER FUNERAL HOME, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. McCann will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday January 20th 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Tiffin of Chatham Baptist Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf cemetery. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Chatham Baptist Church or the Chatham Kent Community Foundation.

J.B. (Jack) Parker

PARKER, J.B. (Jack) - John Bryon of Erieau passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2007 just twelve days before his 88th birthday. Jack is survived by his wife Audrey (Punnett) to whom he was married for 68 years, by his daughters Charlotte (George) MacDonald and Margaret Rose (Larry) Burke of Erieau and Sandra (Jim) Holdaway of Rodney. Missing their Grandfather are 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Jean (George) Verstraete, his brothers Gordon (Evelyn), Donald (Pat), Bill (Mary) and Bob (Alice) and his sister-in-law Helen Parker. Jack is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Bond, Bessie Turner and Hazel Tanner and his brother Harold. Friends will be received at the BLENHEIM COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 60 Stanley Street Blenheim on Thursday from 7-9 p.m and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Legion service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. Jack's funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday January 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Rowley and The Rev. Cannon Meurig Lloyd officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery , Blenheim. Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Paul's Anglican Church.

Ella Mary (Beck) Praill

PRAILL, Ella Mary (Beck) - Passed peacefully Tuesday January 16, 2007 at the Blenheim Community Village in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Leslie Praill (1931). She will be greatly missed by her daughter Verna Lowes (Gordon); Grandchildren Robert - Montreal, Barbara Zimmer (Wayne) - London, Paul (Elaine) - Toronto; great grandchildren Isaac, Elizabeth, Jessica Joy, Michael Zimmer; Brooklin, Cameron and Dawson Lowes. Special grandmother to Tom VanSickle (Michelle), Eric and Chelsea - Sarnia. Survived by sisters Ethel Clendenning, Madge Duff; brother Lloyd Beck (Dorothy) - Florida. Sisters in law Irene and Dorothy Beck and Phyllis Praill, brother in law Doug Crosbie (Pauline) - Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Isaac “Ike“ Beck and May Moore, sisters Rene Crosbie, Freda Simpson; brothers Fred, John and Harold. Ella was a social worker in the Chatham area and was the Cub leader of Cub Pack 7 at Christ Church for over 30 years, past member of the Zonta Club, the Maple City Golf Club, the Blenheim Golf Club and the Chatham Granite Club. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday January 19, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the BOWMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4 Victoria Ave., Chatham (519-352-2390). A funeral service will be conducted from Christ Church (Anglican) Chatham on Saturday January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. will Rev. Paul Millward officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf cemetery. Those wishing to send memorial contributions are asked to consider a charity of your choice.

KIRKWOOD, Richard - passed away peacefully at the Hyland Crest Senior Citizens Home, Minden on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in his 100th year. Beloved husband of the late Laura (nee Shafe) for 72 years. Son of the late Charles and Ida Kirkwood. Dear brother of the late Doris Coburn. Dear mother of Rita, Michael, Shirley, Terry and Patti. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Daniel, Meaghan, Vern and Stephanie. She was the special great grandmother of Isaiah (Izzy). Dear sister of Jean Wilson and Bernice Veysey. Dorothy will be greatly missed by Jim Shaw, Reesa Cunningham and Rob Ellis. Loving grandfather of Jonathan Swire, Christopher Bayley, Megan Swire, Justin Swire and Michael Swire. Dear brother of Viola Simonds of Orillia and the late George, Helen, Pearl, Evelyn and William. Remembered by Sharon Webb of Barrie. Loving mother of Debra Farrow of London, Patricia Stewart of Owen Sound, Todd of Waterloo and Paul and his wife Ellen of Bass Lake. Lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren; Calen, Melanie, Conner and Emily. Dear sister of Ron Leeming of Tillsonburg. Dear sister-in-law of Joyce Leeming of Tillsonburg and Harvey Farrow and his wife Doris of Hamilton. Predeceased by one brother David. Lewis Hall

HALL, Lewis - passed away peacefully at Country Lane Nursing Home, Chatsworth on Wednesday January 17th 2007 after a lengthy illness endured with patience and dignity. He was the beloved and loving husband of Frances, the devoted father of Rev. Anne-Louise Jannaway, of Toronto, Dr. Alison Hall, of Vancouver, Franklin and his wife Jane, of Toronto, Heather and her husband Glenn Daniels, of Richmond Hill and Virginia Hall of La Jolla, California. Proud grandfather of Andrew Lewis Jannaway. Remembered by his brother Murray, of Toronto, Hildreth and her husband Jack Clark, of Paisley, Eoin and his wife Eleanor, of Elora, Thomas and his wife Jeannette, of Derby. Predeceased by his sister Hazel (Mrs. Ralph Thede), his brother Robert, and sister-in-law Lily May Hall, and a nephew Donald Clark. Lewis was the eldest son of the late Johnston Hall and the late Vera Speer Hall, of Derby Township where he was born in 1923. At age 23 he began his career in carpentry and was a well known house builder in the area until his retirement. He was a devoted member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Owen Sound and an elder for 25 years. Friends may call at the BRECKENRIDGE-ASHCROFT FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10 am. Interment in Greenwood cemetery. Husband of the late Charlotte (nee Lang). Dear father of Shelbey and her husband Rob Bidgood of Lakefield, Garrett of Havlock and Andrew. Proud grandfather of Cohen Bidgood. Son of the late Dave and Audrey Sacerty. Also survived by his sister Pat Ricketts of Owen Sound. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Bradford Sacerty. Loving mother of Andrea Sutherland, Sarah Sutherland and her husband Jason Cameron, Amy Sutherland and Adam Sutherland. Loving Nana of Bella. Loving daughter of Jim Brown and his wife Betty. Loved daughter-in-law of Grace Sutherland and her late husband Jack. Loving sister of Kathy and her husband Richard Davis and (Bud) Jim Brown. Fondly remembered by the Sutherland family and her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving mother Rose Brown. Walter Glinski

GLINSKI, Walter - age 85, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15 at home surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born on April 15, 1921 in Toronto, Ontario Canada to Wladyslaw and Anna (Kwarczak) Glinski. After high school he attended Geology and Mining Trade School and was employed as a surveyor for the Monroe County Road Commission until 1993. Prior to that he worked at Bentley & Sons Construction in Toledo, OH. Walter was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance, MI. He loved country life, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed raising livestock. He grew beautiful flowers for the church and provided fresh produce to the convent. He also made his own wine, played the harmonica, and loved reading. In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Koperski) Glinski whom he married on September 6, 1952, Walter's survivors include his children, Richard L. (Denise) Glinski of Adrian, MI, Ruth M. Glinski of Reno, NV, and Robert C. Glinski of Ottawa Lake; grandchildren, Daniel R., Michael R., Melanie A., and Christopher J. Glinski; and cousin, Rege (Alex) Momentoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wladyslaw and Anna; brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Thomas (Patricia) and Johnny Glinski; and an infant sister. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Temperance, MI. Interment will follow in St. Anthony cemetery. Richard Harper

HARPER, Richard “Richie“- Peacefully on January 15, 2007 at his residence in Caledon. Richard, in his 79th year, beloved husband to Theresa and dear father of Marion Simpson (Doug) of Leamington, Richard (Debbie) of Brantford, Jeannette (Wayne) of Westport, Sharon (Keith) of Toronto, the late Charles, Chester (Mena) of Toronto, and Jessie (Robert) of Toronto. Richie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by four and survived by four siblings. Jeffery Thomas Hipwell

HIPWELL, Jeffery Thomas - After a long and courageous battle on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at the age of 55. Loving husband of 34 years to Marlene. Cherished father to Jenny, Missy and Matt. Dear son of Doris and the late Jack Hipwell (2005). Dear brother to JoAnne Trousdale (Lyle) and John (Marla). Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Jeff was a recently retired employee of General Motors. Dad loved the outdoors, riding his bicycle, and was a long time member of the YMCA. Friends will be received at the PATRICK J.
