CAMPAGNA - Domenica
The family of Domenico Campagna sadly announces his passing on Saturday November 5, 2005 at Cassellholme, while in his 93rd year. Domenico was born in Pisterzo, Italy in 1913 and came to Canada in 1929, where he worked and retired from the O.N.R. in 1979. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Maria, an infant daughter Concetta, his parents Natale and Concetta, and his brother Gilbert. He is survived by his sisters Nilda and Angelina of Italy. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Connie Shields (Peter) and Anna Harper (Harry), four grandchildren Phillip, Lisa, Robbie and Steven and five great grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff of two North at Cassellholme where he was treated with much kindness and respect.
Family will receive friends and relatives at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) today, Monday November 7th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. by Reverend Albert Falconi. A private interment to follow.

KNIGHT - James Chaplin 'Jimmie'
The captain of the Appointment II has gone peacefully to see his navigator (Dorothy Knight nee Cheverie) and has pulled into his final port on Sunday November 6, 2005 surrounded by his family in his 64th year. He will be sadly missed by his partner Ann Bibby and her family. Also fondly remembered by his children Angela (Paul van Schaayk) and James (Treena Palangio). He will also be sadly missed by his mother Isabell Knight and the late James L. Knight of Parry Sound, by all his brothers Charlie (Rose) of Sarnia, Ted (Cathy) of Parry Sound, Robert (Holly) of Toronto and Donald of Georgian Bay and all his nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Jimmie was an avid fisherman who could always be found on 'the spot' on Lake Nipissing. He also enjoyed boating, hunting, snowmobiling and traveling abroad. He was past president of the Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs of North Bay, an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 23, Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club.
Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and again on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Holy Cross cemetery.

GRENO - John Robert
Retired Captain North Bay Fire DepartmentPeacefully at the North Bay General Hospital On Saturday November 5, 2005 at the age of 83 years. John Robert Greno, the beloved husband, for the past 57 years, of Marion Eileen ( nee Black). Proud and loving father of Rob (Carol) of Penticton B.C., Brenda McKenzie (John) of Surrey B.C. and Barry of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kai and Dawn, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Brie. Dear brother of Helen Curr (Chuck) of Edmonton. John came to Canada from Czechoslovakia at the age of 10, arriving in North Bay shortly afterwards. A veteran of WW II he served with the Queens Own Rifles, returning to North Bay to marry Marion in 1948. John was a proud member of the North Bay Fire Department. Joining the force in 1953 he retired as a Captain in 1985 with over 32 years of service.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no visitation. A private family services will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL (across from city hall).

RUNKLE - Jessie
1923-2005Our beloved Jessie passed away peacefully on November 15th comforted by her loving family and staff at Westgate Lodge, Belleville, Ontario. Jessie died at the age of 82 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in North Bay, ON, the only and adored child of the late Edgar and Kate Moore. Jessie graduated from the University Of Toronto in 1945, where she managed the women's baseball team, acted in reviews and plays at Hart House theatre, and was a member of Alpha Phi fraternity. Jessie sold real estate in both North Bay and Sault Saint Marie. She was an avid golfer and active member of the North Bay and Sault St. Marie golf clubs, and offered her time to Telecare and helped with Meals-On-Wheels. Jessie was fun-loving, enjoyed many friends, and dearly loved her grandchildren. Jessie is survived by her husband Lew Runkle; her sons: Barry Pond (Marcia), Robert Dales ( Johanne), Peter Dales (June) and her daughter, Katie Cudmore (Geoff); grandchildren, Erin and Allyson Pond; Laurence, Philippe, and Julia Dales; Lily and Lincoln Dales; Peter (Sarah) and Edgar Cudmore (Paula); great grandchildren Damien Cudmore and Charlotte Cudmore. She was predeceased by two husbands, Robert (Bob) Dales and Larry Pond.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 pm on Friday November 18th, and the funeral service 10 to 11am (with internment following) Saturday November 19th at Martyn's Funeral Home North Bay.
A reception will be held following the internment at Barry and Marcia Pond's home. Donations in her memory may be made to your local Alzheimer's Society.
CLARKE - Peter
Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday November 26th, 2005, while in his 85th year. Loving father of Wayne (wife Carmen), Lorne, Eric 'Joe' (wife Debra), Peter (wife Sue) and Bob (wife Dianne). Proud grandfather of ten and great -grandfather of three. Also survived by his sister Shirley. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Alma, his son John, his brother George, and parents Alice and George Clarke. A veteran of World War II Peter served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot, flying a Lancaster Bomber. He enlisted in 1942 at the age of 21 and served in England until December 1945. An Ontario Land Surveyor for most of his adult life, Peter was an active member, and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 599. He will be remembered for his zest for life, love of golf, his sense of humor and his will to help anyone in need. Peter also volunteered at Nipissing Manor and often spoke of his joy in doing so, stating that he volunteered but also made friends in doing so. Peter will be missed by his family and great many friends.

KWOK - Sandy
Suddenly at Bellview Hospital, New York City, on Sunday November 20, 2005, at the age of 56 years. Sandy Kwok was the dearly loved daughter of Gam Foan Kwok of New York and the late Hing Kwok. Dear sister of Lai Ha and her husband King Hong of North Bay. Sandy will also be sadly missed by her nephew John Hong and nieces Diane and Katherine Hong, all of Toronto.

BOYER - Helena 'Helen'
Died at the North Bay General Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2005. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Leo Alfred Boyer, she was 79 years old. Loving mother of Ron of Ottawa, Rick of Powassan and Lorraine Scanlon and her husband Rick of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by her grandsons Sheldon and Patrick and their mother Mado. Dearly loved sister of Jean Lalonde and her husband Larry of Kingsville. She will be sadly missed by her campanion Darbys.
Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Wednesday, from 12noon until time for Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Roman Catholic cemetery.

LAZURE - Leo Joseph
Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, on Monday November 28th, 2005. Leo Joseph Lazure, for the past 58 years, was the beloved husband Ruth (nee Leclaire). He will be sadly missed by his brother Gerard (wife Camillia) of North Bay. Predeceased by his brothers Henry, Joseph, Roger, Rene, and Roland. A devoted Jehovah's Witness Leo was a man who lived by the bible. His daily readings guided his life.

After a lengthy illness, passed peacefully at Cassellholme on Tuesday November 29, 2005 in her 81st year. Dear wife of the late Capt. Richard (Dick) Smith. Loving mother of L.Col. Robert Smith (wife Diane) of North Bay, Carol Wilker (husband Barry) of Sarnia and Susan Beauchamp (husband Marcel) of Orleans. Sadly missed by grandchildren Derek, Lisa, Cathy, Ryan, Marie, Connie and Ian and by 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Muriel Johnson and Dorothy Owen and by her brother William Martin.
Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Saturday from 10-11 am. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Interment of ashes with her husband at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

COSTELLO - Evan
At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Friday December 2, 2005 at age 81. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Emily (Shannon) Costello and by brothers Keith and Glen. Dear husband of Joan (Butler). Loving father of Dan (Lori) of Powassan, Kerry Caruso (Carmen) of North Bay, Tim of Callander and Sandra Robinson (Mel) of Feronia. Sadly missed by grandchildren Christopher, Kimberley and Colleen Caruso, Jamie and Michael Costello, Abbie and Jeffery Robinson. Survived by brothers and sisters Ivy Kelly, Edith Harriman, Lee Costello (Bernice), Maureen Randall, Vernon Costello (Pauline) and Wendy Kane (Dan). Evan served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and then worked for the CPR from 1941 to 1985.
At Evan's request there will be no visiting or service. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
