SADICK - Nicholas Richard (Nick)
At the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Saturday, February 21, 2004, at the age of 83 years. Nick was the beloved husband of the late Madeline (Tiny) Eaton and the loved father of Sharon Brown of North Bay and Richard Sadick (Sharon) of Brandon, Manitoba. His memory will be cherished by his four grandchildren Shannon Desrosiers, Michael Brown, Robert Sadick and Steven Sadick and six great grandchildren Lyle, Serena, Shannon, Nicholas, Kristopher and Logan. Survived by his two sisters Doris Burkett of Campbellford and Evelyn Piccolo of London. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Barbara Sadick of Capreol, two brothers and six sisters. Nick's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Nipissing Masonic Lodge # 420 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM.

A Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10:30 am. Funeral Services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 25th, at 11:00 am. Spring interment at the Terrace Lawn cemetery , beside his beloved Tiny.

If desired, donations to a Charity of your Choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

COOPER - Douglas Ian
Died suddenly at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Friday, February 20th, 2004. He was 44 years old. Douglas was the beloved husband of Teresa Lenora Payne. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Catherine Cooper. Lovingly remembered by Teresa's family, her father George Payne and his wife Mary, her mother Irma Tafe, her sisters Vivian Payne of Toronto and Cynthia Laperriere and her husband Paul of North Bay. Dearly loved uncle of Graham, Cassandra, Claire, Alexander and Aimee. Also lovingly remembered by his aunt Florence Cooper and her children Terry, Pat and Deb all of the Windsor area. Douglas was the Body Shop Manager at True North Chev Olds, working there for over 28 years.

Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 25th, at 2:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the North Bay General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

CARR - David Louis
Suddenly at Temiscaming Quebec, on Wednesday February 18th, 2004, at the age of 56. David Carr, beloved husband of Jo-Anne McDonald of North Bay. Proud and loving father of Robert Carr (Deborah Holmes), Sean McDonald (Alison) and April McDonald, all of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Cameron, Tyler, Travis and Tanner. David was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Hazel Carr (nee Rowe), brothers Gerald & Earl (Barbara), and sister Eva Sale (Jim). Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Herb (Peggy) Redbridge, Cathy Sale (Jack), North Bay, Bill, Victoria B.C., Joan Jodouin (Shorty), North Bay, Marc (Vi), Toronto, Ken (Sheila), Hamilton, Elsie Jessup (Jim), Redbridge, Shirley McMillan (Ron), North Bay, Muriel Jessup (late Ken), Bridgewater, Nova Scotia & Thomas (Marjorie) Redbridge. A professional driver Dave was an owner / operator for Superior Carriers, operating as D & J Transport.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00p.m. and Saturday evening from7:00p.m. until time for services in the chapel at 8:00 p.m. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Drive)

MAYNARD - Albert
The family annouces with sorrow his death at the North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site on Tuesday February 17, 2004, at the age of 94. Albert is survived by his wife Elva a resident of Nipissing Manor, Corbeil. The couple celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary in 2000. Loving father of Shirley "Sue" Duffy and her husband John of Mississauga, Diane "DeeDee" Sullivan and her husband Frank of Waterloo, Carol Bowdidge and her husband Richard of ValCaron and David of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren Karen, Mark and his wife Sharon, Chris, Daniel, John, Sarah and Christine. Two sisters in England also survive. Albert was born in London, England and came to Canada at the age of 16. He worked in farming and in the lumber industry in his early years before being hired by INCO in its Sudbury operations in 1935. He was a locomotive engineer for 14 years before transferring to the iron ore plant. He retired in 1971 after 36 years service with the company. During the Second World War, he served with the RCAF. Following his retirement from INCO, Albert moved toNorth Bay. After losing all contact with his family in England for many years, he rediscovered them in 1982. Visits to England and Australia followed. Albert travelled to Australia 3 times when already in his 80s and for a final visit at the age of 92 to attend a 100th birthday for his sister. he was a popular and respected figure in the Richard Road, Birch Haven area of North Bay where he had many close friends. In recent years his neighbors had increasingly "kept and eye" on him and helped him in his daily needs for shoppong trips, snow removal and other tasks. Several of these generous folk made a point of calling and visiting him each day. Cremation at North Bay. No visitation.

A memorial service will be held at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, Monday February 23 at 3 pm. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, 464 Wyld St., North Bay, ON (705)472-8810.

LIDKEA - Victor
passed away at the North Bay General Hospital February 15, 2004 at the age of 62 years. Dear brother of Jack (Bette) of Markdale, ON, Robert (Margaret) of Fort Frances and Bill (Wilma) of Thorold. Predeceased by his brother Harrison (Evelyn) and his sister Pauline (Steven Johnson). He will be sadly missed by 14 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great niece. A memorial service will be held in the spring. In memory of Victor donations can be made to the North Bay Association for Community Living. A special thank you to the staff and residence of Cedarview for their love and support, the emergency room department and Dr William Finnis.

HODGSON - Samuel
passed away at his residence February 12, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by his wife Helen Hodgson (nee ) Dear father of Sandra (Wayne Olshaski) and Timothy (Lynn). Dear grandfather of Olivia. Survived by 1 sister Alvina and predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday February 17 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Premier Rd., North Bay at 2:00 pm. Donations can be made to the Watch Tower Society in memory of Samuel.

VESSMANN - Elisabeth
Died at Cassellholme, on Monday, February 9, 2004. Elisabeth Blagovski, was the beloved wife of the late Jacob Vessmann, in her 100th year. Loving mother of Linda Kirik of North Bay. Predeceased by her son Victor. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Robert & Allan (wife Tiia) Vessmann, Liisa, Tiina, Hendrik, Anne, Meeri and Kristi Kirik and by her great grandchildren Maili, Olivia & Emma.

Visitation will be held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (725 Ferguson Street) from 10 am until time for services in the church at 11:00 am. Spring Interment at the Stephenson Township cemetery , Port Sydney.

At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Wednesday February 4, 2004 in her 82nd year. Dear wife of the late Mervin Mison. Loving mother of Bill (Adele) of Kapuskasing, Dave (Kathy) of North Bay, Mark (Irene) of Sudbury and Helen Malo (Dan) of Kapuskasing. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jason, Debbie, Jordan, Becky, Joshua and Justin. Survived by her remaining brothers and sisters Omer, Edgar, Adeline and Celina.

Lehman - Phyllis Mary
With her loved ones by her side, Phyllis Lehman Passed peacefully away at her residence in Cassellholme, on February 1, 2004, just a few days after her 95th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Edwin Pellow, her husband Reg, her brothers Alf, Harold (Jack) and Ray, her sisters Beth Valiquette and Florence Jacob, and her companion Don Macnab. Treasuring their memories of her remain her two daughters, Margaret McClelland (Jared) of Carlisle and Dorothy Labrick (Terry) of North Bay, her four grandchildren, Jim Piggott, Anne Piggott, Robin Kells and Jacquie Kells - Kennedy, her two great grandchildren, Tyler Paterson and David McLean, and many loving nieces and nephews. This vital caring woman was known to the family as The Matriarch; she showed us all how to face life's challenges with courage, loyalty, generosity, indomitability and above all love. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her charm, dignity, kindness and humour.

Her family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Wednesday February 4th from 10:00 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment in the North Bay Union cemetery.

FETHERSTON - Robert Mann
June 1, 1923 - February 1, 2004 Bob Fetherston passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Robert Mann "Bob" Fetherston was the beloved husband of Mary Mabel (nee Parker) whom he married in Toronto on January 25, 1947. Bob & Mary had recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. Bob was a proud and loving father of five children: Dr. Robert Jr. "Bob" (Marianne) of Windsor, Susan Onions (Mike) of Guelph, Patty Henderson (Rob) of Elliott Lake, Garry of Windsor and Brian of Kenora. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Amanda, James & Gregory Onions, Ryan & Jason Henderson and Alexis and Troy Fetherston, and his great grandchildren Caleigh, Alicia and Emma. Bob will also be sadly missed by his loving niece Julia Sebben and her family and by his cousin Dave Evans and his wife Valerie. Bob was predeceased by his three brothers Tom, Jack and Bill. Born in Toronto in 1923, Bob served overseas during the Second World War with the 11th Canadian Field Company, Royal Canadian engineers. He was decorated with the George Medal for outstanding bravery for having saved the lives of 4 British Soldiers. A salesman by profession Bob was for many years the Northern Ontario Representative for Forsyth Shirts and Deacon Bros. Sportswear. A dedicated husband and father he was a well-known horseman throughout the north. He and his family competed in numerous competitions and fall fairs and he was a charter member of the North Bay Light Horse Association. A former Commodore of the North Bay Yacht Club, Bob was also an active member of the North Bay Rotary Club for a period of 44 years. He was also and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23 and the RCAF 406 Wing. Also an active Shriner and motorcyclist, Bob was a member of the Rorab Cycle Unit. For many years Bob was also a participant in the Association of Canadian Travelers.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across form City Hall) on Wednesday, February 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held at Trinity United Church, 111 McIntyre Street E. on Thursday, February 5th, at 11:00 am. A light reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, 150 First Avenue W. at 1:00 PM.

WORRALL - Bruce Edgar
The family announces with deep regret the passing of Bruce Worrall on Friday January 2, 2004 at Nipissing Manor Nursing Home in his 80th year. He is survived by his daughter Christine M. Holder (Bruce) and grandsons Ryan Holder, David Worrall and McKenzie Graham. Predeceased by his daughter Beverly Graham on August 9, 1999. Loving mother of Kevin Cole (Julie) of Sudbury, Debra Cole of North Bay, Michael Fong of North Bay, Brandie Fong of North Bay and Kim Munro (Adam) of Chalk River. Sadly missed by grandchildren Tessa, Caytlin, Kiesha, Kelsie, Benjamin and Ryan. Survived by her mother Emma Ladouceur (Henry). Predeceased by her father Edward. Also survived by sisters Joyce Ladouceur (Adrienne Legault), Janet Roy, Jacqueline Brown (Doug) and Joanne Timpson and their families, by her brother Wes Crigger (Lois) and by many nieces and nephews. After a lengthy battle with cancer at the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Monday January 5, 2004 in his 79yh year. Dear husband of Joyce. Loving father of Helen Murphy (Jim) of North Bay and Lesley Bainbridge also of North Bay. Predeceased by his son Craig and by his parents Peter and Minnie. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jason and Andrea Murphy, Lindsay and Casey Bainbridge and great grandson Austin. Survived by his brother Charles (Jean) of North Bay.
