Charles Kenneth Beaton passed away suddenly at the North Bay General Hospital on Friday January 9, 2004 at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Elsie (nee Rye). Loving father of William (Darlene) of North Bay, John (Patty) of Waterloo and Margaret Belanger (John) of Peterborough. Proud grandfather of Shawn and Jason Belanger and proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. Brother of Bernice Conrad of North Bay, Muriel Down of Vancouver and brother in law of Mabel Bradford of North Bay. Predeceased by his brother Jack and sister Francis Kelly. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 23, Nipissing Lodge # 420 A.F. & A.M., and the Rorab Shrine Club. Charlie was a former long time employee of the city of North Bay. Working in both the tax and water departments he retired in 1982 after more than thirty five years of service. Predeceased by her parents Doug and Marion Hargrave. Janice coached ringette for many years starting in the early 1960's. She was a recipient of the Agnes Jacks Ambassador Award. She was predeceased by her son David Serran, by her parents Henry (Harry) and Maude Aulbrook (nee Fisher), by a great grandchild Robert and by her siblings Rose Bieuz, Clarence Aulbrook and Buddie Alfred Aulbrook (January 17, 2004). She will be greatly missed by her children Jack (Elsie) Serran of North Bay, Robert (Lorraine) Serran of Bradford, Richard Serran of North Bay, Carol Lusk (Brian) of North Bay, Daniel (Doris) Serran of Welland, Marlene Perron (Bernard) of Astorville and Katherine Humphreys (Michael Armstrong) of Ottawa. Born March 11, 1919 in Sudbury, ON, passed away after a brief battle with lung Cancer on Saturday, January 17, 2004.She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 68 years, John (Jack) McKee of North Bay, and son David (Irene) of Callander, granddaughter Allison McKee Sellon (Mark) and great granddaughters Isabelle and Anna of Basking Ridge New Jersey, granddaughter Andrea McKee O'Leary (Joe) of Portland Oregon, son in law E.J. Roche (Gail) of North Bay, grandsons Kevin and Curtis Roche of North Bay, grandson Scott Roche (Laurence) and great granddaughter Lana Marilynn of Atlanta Georgia and sister June LaFrance of North Bay and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughters Marilynn Roche and Joanne McKee, grandson Jeff Roche, parents Fred & Anne Ferris, sisters Eleanor Heller of St. Catherines, Dorothy Calcott of Stratford, Marjorie Labrick of North Bay and brother Lloyd Ferris of North Bay. Ruth was a lady of courage who took pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shared a joyful Christmas with them all this year.There will be no visitation, and at Ruth's request her cremated remains will be interred at a graveside service next to her daughter Joanne in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Reidar (Roy) Christian Abrahamsen, whom she married in Toronto on February 27, 1943. Together for 61 years Roy predeceased her October 26, 2003. Loving father of Jim (Cheryl) of Yellowknife, Tom of Toronto, Nancy Francis of Peterborough, Bill (Leesee) of Iqualuit, Ron (Debbie) of North Bay and Bruce of Saskatoon. Sadly missed by grandchildren Zane, Cody, Bill, Marjorie, Charles, Nya, Aqqula, Nuka, Jennifer, Laura, Holly, Jody, Michael and T.J. and by great grandchildren Tyler, Alexander and Duncan. Survived by sisters Louise Nolan and Jean Schaffer and by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Margaret Hardman. Harold was an avid member of the North Bay Carving Club most recently carving several of the horses for the North Bay Heritage Carousel. KRAMER - Josef Jakob '"Joe"'
At the North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday January 21st, 2004 after a lengthy struggle with kidney disease. Born in Germany on January 22, 1932, Joe was the beloved husband of Janet (nee Kidd). They celebrated their 47th anniversary this past November. Proud and loving father of Karen (Daryl) of Winnipeg, Gary (Diane) of Welland and Heide (Ron) of Calgary. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Chris), Jessica, Andrew, Christopher, Kevin and Melanie. Also survived by his sisters Luise Ellis of California and Maria Noe (Edi) of Germany. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Emily Holland of North Bay, son-in-law Allen, sister-in-law Eleanor Crossley (Jim), of Florida, brother-in-law Jim Kidd (Ellen) of Nipissing, his many special nieces and nephews, and close friends Denis and Linda. Joe received wonderful care from the Renal Unit staff and doctors for which his family is eternally grateful. And finally, but not last, Joe will be sadly missed by his faithful canine companion Thea, who held a special place in his heart. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place.
