MULLIGAN - Jean Anna
At her home after a lengthy battle with cancer on Sunday April 18, 2004 in her 65th year. Dear wife of the late James F. Mulligan. Loving mother of Jim and his wife Veronica of Corbeil and grandmother of James and Elizabeth both at home. Predeceased by her daughter Julie Mae and her sister Elaine. Survived by her mother Vera Sheardown and brothers Bill and Bruce Sheardown.

FRICKER - Maurice "Morris"
After a courageous fight with cancer at the North Bay General Hospital, McLaren Site on Saturday April 17, 2004 with his family at his side. Morris Fricker, in his 89th year, beloved husband of the late Ann Zyha. Left to mourn are his daughters Maevis Demers and Sue Lott (Dary). Sadly missed by grandchildren Jeff Hill (Angie), Carla Hayes, Crystal Hayes, step grandchildren Vicki Lott (daughters Savannah, Michaela, Willow) and Erik Lott and by great grandchildren Tiffany and Clayton Hill. Survived by his brothers William (Noni) and Fred (Cora) and by his sister Dorothy Avery. Predeceased by sisters Thelma, Pearl, Violet and Mabel and by brothers Edward and David.

JAMES (nee Piche) - Lillian
Died at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the age of 64 years. Lillian James, nee Piche was predeceased by her husband Darwin James, and her beloved common-law-husband Rejean Falardeau. Dear mother of Denis James and Sandra Mandryk (Gary) both of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ashley and Michael. Lillian was the beloved daughter of the late MacGloire & Regina (Maurice) Piche. She was also predeceased by her brothers Sylvio "Pete" and Emile Piche. Dear sister of Adelard, Raymond, Clement (wife Janet), Richard (wife Sylvia), Florida Ryan, Jeannette Hampel (Ray), Jeanine, and Cecile Dutrisac all of North Bay and Ruby and Maurice both of Guelph. Lillian will be sadly missed by all who knew her and her many nieces and nephews. At her request no visitation. Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium, Tower Drive.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Monday, April 19th, at 10:00 am.

WATLING (nee Salmonson) - Winifred
Accidentally at North Bay on Sunday April 11, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Winifred Salmonson was the beloved wife of the late Reginald (Reg) Watling who predeceased her in 1976. Dear daughter of the late Victor and Bessie Salmonson formerly of Témiscaming Also predeceased by her son Allan David in 1957, great granddaughter Tessa-Marie Demers in 1994, and brothers Bob (Joanne of North Bay), Arthur (Ethel of Campbell River, B.C.). Winifred will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Suzanne Mills (David), and Judy and Jane all of North Bay, her grandchildren Garnet, Marilyn and Pamela Mills and her three great grandchildren Emily, Jaden and Tayla. Sadly missed by her brother Warren Salmonson (Phyllis) of Thorne. Winifred's pleasures were her family, her camp at McLaren's Bay and her church. Prior to moving to North Bay Winifred was a long time resident of Témiscaming Quebec (1921 - 1976).

Thomson - William David
Died at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Monday, March 29th, 2004. Bill was the beloved husband of Norma Gertrude Hamilton, in his 78th year. Loving father of Randy Thomson and his wife Lisa Hagen of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by his grandson Christian. Dearly loved brother of Grace Walker of Oshawa, Margaret Nickolas and Jean Thomson both of Scarborough. Bill worked for Bell Canada for many years doing commercial and residential installs and repairs. He enjoyed his retirement in the out of doors, spending a great deal of time camping, fishing and golfing. Bill was also an active member of the Nipissing Masonic Lodge # 420 A.F. & A.M.
Bill's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) this evening from 7 - 9 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 1st, at 2:00 PM.

Died peacefully at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Centre, on Sunday, March 28th, 2004. Bon Hughey, was the beloved husband of Mary Ann Alexkna, he was in his 92nd year. Loving father of Larry and his wife Lila of Pickering and father in law of Louella of Chatham. Predeceased by his son Robert Joseph "Bob". Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Brian, Dennis, Sean, Lynn, Pat and by his 6 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Callander Union cemetery later in the Spring.

TOWNSON - Lyle Clinton
At his home, North Bay on Monday March 22, 2004 at the age of 77 years. Lyle Clinton Townson was the dear father of Randy (Sue) of Red Deer, Alberta & Tim (Liz) of North Bay. Lyle was predeceased by his son Terry in 1983 and will be fondly remembered by his daughter in law Judy Townson of Corbeil. Loving grandfather of Jeffery, Jamie & Desiree. Dear brother of Stan (June) of North Bay, Ian (Audrey) of Powassan, Barry (Joanne) of Winnipeg, Glen (Delores) of North Bay, Gail Graham (Bob) and Elwood both of Callander. As well as Terry Lyle was predeceased by his parents the late Fred and Olive Townson, and brothers Gordon, Vern and Clive. A long time North Bay resident Lyle enjoyed several careers. For a while he owned and operated school buses, then operated a car rental agency. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the city working at the landfill site.
A private family funeral service was held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday March 25th, 2004. Spring interment in Terrace Lawn cemetery.
DAVIS - Kenneth
passed away at the North Bay General Hospital-Scollard Site on March 20 2004 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of Bernice Davis (nee Steuernol) of North Bay. Dear father of Diana (Dean) of Hanover, James (Peggy) of North Bay and Deborah (Al) of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Loving grandfather of Tammy (Tom), Jody (Nichole), Ryan (Shannon), Derek, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Valerie, Jessica (Josh) and great grandfather of Maggie, Gwen, Mykayla, Auriana and Jared. Survived by 2 sisters Willow Gagnon and Gladys De Vries. Predeceased by his parents William and Sadie Davis and sisters Fern Sutheran and Dorothy Gagnon. Ken served 3 1/2 years overseas for the Queens Own Riffles during in WWII. He was an active member for many years at the Haileybury Branch 54 Legion were he founded the pipe band. He was also a member at the North Bay Branch 23 Legion and pipe band. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and all aspects of music.
Funeral service was held Wednesday March 24 at 2 pm at the Martyn Funeral home Chapel.

SMITH - Grant
At his residence, North Bay on Thursday March 18th, 2004 at the age of 60 years. Grant will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Troy of New Westminister, B.C. and Troy's mother Joan of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents the late Gilbert & Mary Ellen Smith formerly of North Bay. Also survived by his brother Lloyd. A heavy equipment mechanic Grant also drove truck and worked for several years for Bolduc Explosives Transport Ltd.
