ROWE - Rena Nellie
passed away at the North Bay General Hospital at Scollard Site, on Thursday, March 2, 2006. Rena Glaeser was the loving wife of the late Samuel Rowe. Dear mother of Paul and his wife Donna of North Bay. Loving grandmother of Clifford and his wife Christina and Robert and his wife Stephanie both of Kingston. She was the cherished sister of Kenneth Glaeser. Rena was predeceased by her siblings Edna Broughton, Lily Glaeser, Doris Handley and Cameron Glaeser.

At Rena's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation to take place with interment of ashes at the Forest Lawn cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Laurier Avenue United Church (General Fund) as expressions of sympathy. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall)

She will be remembered in our Hearts, forever

Mrs O'Grady-Woolford (nee Brown) - Gloria
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Gloria on Friday, March 3rd, 2006 at North Bay General Hospital- Scollard site. Beloved and cherished wife of Brian O’Grady. Wonderful and dedicated mother to Shannon Woolford, Kevin and Ryan O’Grady all of Ottawa. Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Marjorie Belanger of Temagami and Jackie Jeffrey of Virginia Town. She was predeceased by her sister Judy Harasym of Kitchener. In accordance with her wishes there will be no visitation.

A memorial service is to take place in the Martyn Funeral Home chapel on Monday, March 6th, 2006 at 11 am. Cremation with burial of ashes in the Brown family plot at St.Mary’s Roman Catholic cemetery in the spring. If desired donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs Robinson (nee Wall) - Shirley Fay
At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Saturday March 4, 2006 in her 77th year. Dear wife of the late John Robinson. Loving mother of Bert (wife Bev) of Redbridge and Barry (wife Carole) of Timmins and mother-in-law of Joe Edmonds of Redbridge. Predeceased by her daughters Brenda Lee and Shirley May. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jonathan (wife Sandra), Jason, Julia (Mark), Charla (Adam) and Tawnia (Andrew) and great grandson Gabriel. Survived by her brother Earl (Bud) Wall.

The funeral service will take place Monday at the Martyn Funeral Home (across from city hall) at 2 pm. Spring interment at the Terrace Lawn cemetery. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs Mitchinson (nee Boulanger) - Odette
At Nipissing Manor Nursing Home on Saturday March 4, 2006 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late William Mitchinson. Loving mother of Steven and his wife Donna of Goulds, Newfoundland and Kevin and his wife Sandra of Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased by her son Richard Brian Mitchinson in 1979. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Suanne, Brian, Dianne, Richard and Alexandra and by 2 great grandchildren. She will be dearly loved by her siblings Lucille, Yolande, Madeline, Annette, Simone, Andy, Yvette, Gerry, Marie and Martha. Predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Rene and Johnnie. Thank you to the staff at Nipissing Manor for your care and compassion

Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2 pm. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Interment of ashes in the Lundy’s Lane cemetery , Niagara Falls at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

BULL (nee Andrews) - Elizabeth Glencoe 'Betty'
Elizabeth Glencoe Andrews, beloved wife of Grant Stewart Bull of Callander ON, passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital, March 4th, 2006. She was the much loved mother of David Bull (Cathy) and Brent Bull (Catherine), dear sister of Robert Andrews (Betty) of Gananoque ON, and Nancy Parr (Robert) of Peterborough ON, cherished grandmother of Jaret and Jaimee Bull, aunt of Christine Adams (Nick) of Inverary ON, Victoria Andrews of Port Hope ON, Robert Andrews (Laina) of Port Hope ON, Richard Andrews of Niagara-on-the-Lake ON, Jane Parr (Shawn O'Connor) of Lakefield ON, Robert Parr (Terri) of Urbandale Iowa, Jeffrey Tikkanen (Monique) of Saskatoon SK, Liisa Fadum (Mike) of Surrey BC, Jen Chitty (Sandra Jamieson) of Crescent Beach BC, Morgan Chitty (Danielle) of Pim Island BC, Logan and Holly Bull of Whitehorse YT, and Teshia Bull Saunders of North Vancouver BC; sister-in law to Nancy Tikkanen (Ken) of Langley BC, Ruth Chitty of Crescent Beach BC, Greg Bull (Susan Tinevez) of Whitehorse YT and Susan Bull of North Vancouver BC. Betty was predeceased by her parents Vernard and Rubena Andrews, her brother-in-law Donald Bull and sister-in-law Elsa Dann. Born March 20th, 1939 at North Bay, Betty attended Elementary School in North Bay and Kirkland Lake. After graduating from North Bay Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, she married her high-school sweetheart Grant in 1959, and attended Queen's University, graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She began her teaching career in Kingston, moving to Sudbury and eventually to North Bay. She also worked as a Court Services Officer in North Bay. Her recent hobbies included weaving, candle making and watching the deer and magnificent sunsets from her beloved home on the South Shore of Lake Nipissing. Betty battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for over twenty years and finally succumbed to respiratory failure. She will be remembered as a courageous, creative, intelligent and elegant lady, whose charm affected all who knew her.

The members of the Bull-Andrews Family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Doctors Cowan, Finnis, Fettes and Lamont for the care she received while hospitalized. Many thanks to Dr. Paul and the Nursing Staff at the Ulcer Clinic and on the 5th Floor of the North Bay General Hospital and to Dr. Murray and Dianne Mitchell who were always there when help was needed at home.

Friends will be received at Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Tuesday March 7, 2006 and Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 8, at 11:00 am. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Arthritis Society or The North Bay General Hospital Foundation in her memory.

NORMAN (nee Lalande) - Sharon Maureen
It is with deep sadness that the Norman family announces the passing of Sharon in her 59th year, peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer, Sunday, March 5, 2006. Born in North Bay, Ontario on January 20, 1947. Loving daughter of Dorothy Lalande (nee Kannegiesser). Predeceased by her father Lionel (Scoop) Lalande. Beloved and cherished wife of Dwight Norman. Wonderful and dedicated mother to: Jamie (Nicola), Kathleen (Sheldon), Cherity (Ed), Allison (Matt). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Madison, Blake, Ethan, and Nolan. Dear sister of Sandra (Paul), Terry (Barra), Cathy (Brian), Randy (Cindy), Brad, Laurie (Jeff). She will be sadly missed by her sister & brother-in-laws: Barbara (Guenter), Gerry (Bonnie), Sandi (Murray), Brenda (Wayne), Joyce (Cathy), Beverley (Bruce), Beth (George), Glenn (Karen). Fondly remembered by all her nieces & nephews: Lisa, Jennifer, Lesley, Mandy, Dana, Michel, Andrew, Adam, Lianne, Lindsey, Craig, Dylan, Kyle, Jason, Jonathon, Lori, Colleen, Lisa, Leslie, Derek, Krista, Wendy, Shawn, Bobby, Jimmy, Aimee, Chelsie, Katelyn, Jessica, Jamie, Jodi as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Sharon graduated as a honour student from Algonquin Composite School, commencing her career at Widdifield Secondary School and later worked for numerous years at Ontario Hydro but her main passion in life was her role as wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.

Visitation will be held at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, March 8th, 2-4:00 pm. and 7-9:00pm. A Funeral Service at The Harbour (30 Lees Rd.) will be held on Thursday, March 9th. at 1:00 pm. Internment following at Forest Lawn Cemetary. If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

MORLAND: - James A. 'Jim'
passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital – Scollard Site, on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. Jim, in his 87th year, was the beloved husband of Marion Fay Herald. Loving father of Jane Gernert and her husband Bill of Castle Rock, Colorado and Linda Lopata and her husband Stan of Ajax. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kathie, Maggie, Bill IV, Kirsten and her husband Vladimir, and Ken. Jim will be dearly remembered by his siblings Middy Gorman, David and Bill Morland. He was predeceased by his parents the late David J. & Mildred Morland, brothers Ken, Russell and Buddy and by his sister Beth Hambley.

Jim’s family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Saturday, March 11th from 1:00 pm until time for the Memorial Service at 3:30 PM. Spring interment of ashes in the North Bay Union cemetery.

If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the St. Andrew’s United Church Memorial Fund would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs Greer (nee Lafrance) - Myra
After a valiant 16 Month fight, her family announces with great sorrow her death. She was peacefully surrounded by her adoring family. Loving and cherished wife to William (Bill) Greer, caring mother to Cindy Springer (Jonathan) and Randy ( Wendee). Lovingly remembered by her one cherished granddaughter Ashley and by her sister Cathy Lafrance. Fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Alta Greer. She was loved and adored by anyone who‘s life she touched. Special thanks for the many visitors and cards she received and to the nurses and doctors and all staff of the North Bay General Hospital who fought along with her during her illness.

A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1120 Premier Rd. North Bay on Sunday March 12th at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the World Wide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses would be gratefully accepted.

TAYLOR, - Irene
passed away at Cassellholme for the Aged on Monday March 6, 2006 at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Norwood (June 2005). Loving mother of Noreen and Ed Scully of Corbeil and Dave and Cindy Taylor of Oshawa. Beloved grandma of Jonathan (fiancée Jaime Sullivan), Richard (fiancée Kara Seguin) Samantha and Jennifer Scully and Jordan and Shannon Taylor. Many thanks to Support workers on Apple St., staff on 4 West at North Bay General Scollard Site, Cathy of the Red Cross and the VON for their care and compassion. Thanks also to Mac Bain of the Martyn Funeral Home.

At mom’s request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.

Scott - Stewart McLeod 'Stew'
In his 76th year, passed away Thursday March 9, 2006 after a brave battle with lung cancer. He will be deeply missed by Edna (Madill) his loving wife and best friend for 48 years. Stew was predeceased by his parents Stewart Scott and Margaret McLeod (Scott) Burdett, his stepfather Albert Burdett and by his brother Donald Scott of Toronto. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Audrey Creighton (Scott) and husband Bob of Caimington, Ontario, sister- in-law Pat Stamp and brother-in-law Lloyd Stamp of Callander, Nephew Scott Stamp, (Ruth) of Victoria BC, niece Leslie Stamp of Callander, nephew Donald Scott (Valerie, ) London, Ontario and niece Lynn Rutledge (Barry) Churchill, Ontario. Stew retired from Ontario Hydro Northeastern Region after over 40 years of management service. A private pilot, he obtained his flying license in 1964 and built his own airstrip, Scottfield, next to the home he and Edna built near Callander. A founding member of Nipissing Flying Club, Stew enjoyed the camaraderie and many cups of coffee with his flying friends. A partner in Scott-Leblanc Inc., Stew was part owner of a Bell G47 helicopter which was completely rebuilt in his garage. Known to many in the amateur radio community by his Ham call VE3-CW, Stew was a licensed Ham Radio Operator for over 60 years. As a young man, Stew was very active in the North Bay scouting movement where he was well known for his leadership and legendary practical jokes. In his 20s he was a drummer with the North Bay Legion Pipe Band. Stew was also a former member of the North Bay Yacht Club. Recently, Stew contributed his time, talents and enthusiastic support to the creation of artistic and architectural designs for the North Bay Heritage Carousel and the Winter Wonderland Carousel.

At Stew's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to The North Bay General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. No floral tributes please. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home.

HUGHES - Katherine Evelyn
passed away at the North Bay General Hospital - McLaren Site, on Friday, March 10, 2006. Katherine Leclair, was the beloved wife of the late Edward William Charles Hughes, she was 90 years old. Loving mother of Margaret Hughes of Powassan, Marilyn and her husband Andrew Montreuil of Redbridge and Ed Hughes and his wife Di-ann of Innisfil. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jordan, Tanner, Connor and Tianna. Dearly loved sister of Alvin Leclair and Bessie Desjardins both of North Bay and Ruth Lazure of Callander. She was predeceased by her son in law William and by her siblings Hector, Barkley, Mabel and Marjorie.

Katherine's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Monday, March 13th, from 10:00 am until time for services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am.

Spring interment at the Callander Union cemetery.

ALBEARTIE - Elizabeth Ann 'Betty'
Suddenly while vacationing in Laughlin, Nevada, on Sunday March 12th, 2006, at the age of 66 years. Elizabeth Ann (Betty) (nee Southwell) was the beloved wife of James (Jim) Albeartie. Proud and loving mother of Karie of Maple Ridge, B.C., Kevin (Sherry) of Belle River, Ont., Pauline (Polly) Wood (David Clapperton), and Frank, both of North Bay. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Riley, Sarah and Julia. Dear sister of Frances Hurdis (Albert) and Ruth Larocque (Paul) both of Carleton Place, Patricia Needham of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Robert Southwell of Vancouver.

Betty's passions in life were reading, knitting and traveling. She cherished her role as loving wife, devoted mother and doting grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Friday from 2 -4 and 7 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 18th from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am.
