Herbert Hugh Morton
1915 - 2003

At the Brockville General Hospital on October 22, 2003 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Adele Morton. Loving father of Michael and John Morton of Brockville and Maureen Morton of Ottawa. Dear grandfather of Willow Brother of Marguerite Morton of Brockville. Also survived by a number of brother and sister in laws including Olga and Frank Buzash of Welland.Uncle of Keri and Dave Harrison and their children Tyler and Drew and Paul and Lynn Buzash and family.

Family and freinds may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockvile from Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church on Saturday at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier cemetery. Officers and Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96 are requested to gather for the Legion Tribute on Friday at 7 pm.

Hazel Muriel Coote
1905 - 2003

passed away peacefully at the Providence Continuing Care Centre, St. Vincent Site, Brockville on Friday, October 24, 2003 at the age of 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Cleve Coote, who predeceased her in 1974. Dearest mother of Iona Foyster (Herbert) of Brockville and cherished grandmother of Susan Allen, Cathy Coote, Dawn Murray and Caroline Jones. Also survived by her eight great grandchildren, her two sisters, Evelyn Graham of Lennoxville, Que. and Mary Emmett of Waterloo, Que. as well as her daughter-in-law Barbara. Predeceased by her son Veldon in 1990.

Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland followed by a graveside service and interment. Memorial Donations to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care would be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

Lillian Root
1930 - 2003

Went to be with the Lord on October 7. 2003 surrounded by her family at the Kingston General Hospital in her 73 rd year. Beloved wife of Clark Root. Cherished mother of Brian Root (Laura) of Brockville, Gail Gallinger (Randy) of Chilliwack B.C., Daniel Root (Cathy) of Brockville, Jo-Ann Yost (Dale) of Bentley, Alt, David Root (Norma) and Stephen Root (Julie) all of Brockville. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sister of Garnet Pankhurst (Geraldine) of North Augusta, Percy Pankhurst of Victoria, Clarence Pankhurst (Patricia) of Brockville, and Vera Klein (Lloyd) of North Augusta. Predeceased by a daughter Karen, a grandson Steven Root, brothers Norman, Reg and Ronnie and by a sister Violet.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel 4 James Street East Brockville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Lillian's life will be held at Centennial Road Standard Church on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mallorytown cemetery. In memoriams to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Patricia Ronan
1912 - 2003

On Monday ,October 6, 2003 at the Brockville General Hospital in her 92nd year. Beloved aunt of Beverly Libitz (Len), Helen Willie (Don) all of Brockville, Carol Hennessy (Orn) of Ottawa, Joe Donovan (Noreen) of Escott and Bill Shipman (Eileen) of Maitland. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Bernice Shipman, Madeline and Eulalia Ronan, Winnie Donovan and by brothers Wilfred and Francis Ronan.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville from Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Wednesday at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. James cemetery Ballycanoe. In memoriams to the Charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Members of the Catholic Women's League are requested to gather for the recitation of the Rosary on Tuesday at 3pm.

Philip Gerald Jackson
1931-2003

On Saturday, October 4, 2003 at his Brockville home at the age of 72 years. Beloved husband of Joreen (Mallette) Jackson. Loving father of Debbie Chatham, and Michael Jackson (Judy) all of Brockville, and predeceased only a few days ago by his dear son-in-law Brent Chatham. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Jennifer Chatham (Kevin O'Connor), Chritina MacDonald (Paul), Cindy Chatham and Amanda Jackson; and by great grandchildren December-Dawn Chatham, Breanna and Luckas Guilboard, Ceillidh O'Connor, Cody-Curtis Sargent and Lryra Sargent, and prececeased by great grandchild Kyler Chatham. Dear brother of Roy Jackson and Joan Wallace (Ken), and brother-in-law of Margaret and Dorothy Jackson. Predeceased by parents Alex and Ida Jackson, and brothers and sisters Wilbert, Clara, Doreen, May, Vera, Alex and Bill. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, and by Bob and Justine Lawson.

In celebration of Philip's life a service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1pm. Brent Taylor Chatham
1950 - 2003

On Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 53. Beloved husband of Debbie (Jackson) Chatham and loving father of Jennifer Chatham (Kevin O'Connor), Christina MacDonald (Paul) and Cindy Chatham all of Brockville. Fondly remembered by grandchildren December-Dawn Chatham, Breanna and Luckas Guilboard, Ceillidh O'Connor, Cody-Curtis Sargent and Lryra Sargent. Loving son of Eva Chatham of Brockville and the late James L. Chatham. Also survived by his brother Richard Chatham, his father and mother-in-law Philip and Joreen Jackson, his brother-in-law Michael Jackson (Judy) and niece Amanda Jackson.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In celebration of Brent's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11am. Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland with interment in Smiths Falls at a later date. In remembrance donations to the SIDS Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Jessie Black Fulton (Anderson)
1912 - 2003

RCAF Womens Division and Argyle Nurse, formerly of Algonquin and Brockville. Died suddenly July 28, 2003 in her 91st year at Port Perry Hospital. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Edward Fulton, her son Ian David Fulton, and grandsons Glen Edward Skura and Jordan James Skura. She is survived by her daughter Catharine and son-in-law Jim Skura, and grandson Alan Jeffrey Skura of Pickering. She was the sister of the late Peter, Jim, Charlie, John, Alex, Edward, William and Henry Anderson, Anna Duncan, Ina Smith, Bella Thompson, Barbara Forsyth, and Mary Stewart. She leaves many nieces and nephews here and in Scotland.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In celebration of Jessie's life the funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11am. Interment will follow at the Bissell cemetery. Gary Phillips
1949 - 2003

On Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 54 years. Dear father of Tammy Phillips (Mike Donnelly) of Kemptville and Timothy Phillips of Brockville. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Ashley, Russell, Taylor and Mariah. Also survived by his sisters Sharon Heise (Dave) of B.C., and Debra Chapman (Ernest) of Lyn, and by an aunt Barb Greig.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Wednesday, July 30th at 10am. Arrangements entrusted to Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Willem de Zoeten

On Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the Perth Community Care Centre at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Bregje de Zoeten and loving father of Ineke de Vries (Jan) of Perth, Johanna Van Vierzen (Gerrit) of Seeley's Bay, Adriaan de Zoeten (Anne) of Brampton, and J. Beatrix Vandermeer (Harold) of Ottawa. Fondly remembered by fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Doreen Ward
1923 - 2003

Peacefully at the Providence Continuing Care Centre, St. Vincent Site Brockville, with her devoted family at her bedside on Monday, July 21, 2003, in her 80th year. Loving wife of William (Bill) Ward. Dear mother of Linda McLennan (Bob) and Judy Ann Bakker (Samuel Terlouw) all of Brockville. Special Nana to Shannon Mann (David), Ryan Jenkinson, Amy Bakker, Jill Bakker (Brad Murdock) and Andrew Bakker. Also survived by her sister Barbara Mitchell (Tom) of Brockville. Predeceased by a brother Norman Tordoff and by a sister Vera French.

A celebration of Doreen's life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 am. Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland. Phyllis E. Hanna
1909 - 2003

Peacefully at the Rosedale Retirement Centre on Monday July 21, 2003. The former Phyllis Edith Brooks at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late George Spencer Hanna. Loving mother of Bill Hanna (Frances) of Toronto, Susan Logan (David) of Tottenham and Donald Hanna (Lesley) of Prescott. Dear grandmother of Catherine Matheson, Phillip Hanna, Richard Logan, Heather McAlpine, Michael Logan and Mark Hanna. Also survived by her great grandson Cameron Logan-McAlpine and by her sister Elizabeth Hutchison of Los Angeles. Predeceased by her sisters Eleanor Giles and Marjorie Brooks.

A ceremony in celebration of Mrs. Hanna's life will be held in the Chapel of the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday at 1:30 pm followed by a reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery , Toronto at a later date. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
