Ethel Grace Anderson
1923 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on April 2, 2004. Ethel Grace Anderson. Daughter of the late David and Louise Anderson. Dear sister of Mae Hellyer (Fred), Evelyn O'Connor, Francis Miller (Bill), Bette Charlton and Bud Anderson (Kaye). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Raymond and by a sister Violet Stinson.

A private family service will be held at The Roselawn Tribute Centre, Maitland, on Monday at 1.30 pm. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In memoriums to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Marion Ruth Thom
1909 - 2004

Entered into rest peacefully at the Sherwood Park Manor on March 31, 2004 in her 96th year. Marion Ruth (Allan) Thom, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Alexander Allan. Beloved wife of the late Frederick A Thom. Dear mother of J. Allan Thom and his wife Shirley of Bass Lake, Marion Hopkins and her husband George of Thornhill and Edward Peter Thom. Grandmother of Margaret Thom-Knol, John Thom (Kim), Todd Hopkins and Lisa Hopkins (Philip Stern). Also survived by seven great grandchildren Amanda, Samaira, Onno John Knol, Samantha Thom, Alexandre and Lucie Hopkins and Haley Hopkins-Stern. Dear aunt of John Settlage (Jackie) of Kirksville, Missouri.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held in First Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. In memoriams to the First Presbyterian Church or Sherwood Park Manor will be gratefully acknowledged.

Ava Jean Durant
March 27, 2004

It is with sadness that Dan, Amy (Mulvihill) and big brother Dillan announce the death of their daughter and sister. Ava was the loving granddaughter of Dan and Bonnie Durant and Peter and Margie Mulvihill. Great granddaughter of Elton Thompson and Jean Mulvihill. Sadly missed by aunts and uncles Christine and Brian Jacques, Lisa and Brian Byrnes, Matthew and Laura Mulvihill and by aunts Amanda Durant and Sarah Mulvihill. Ava was born on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus).

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville. In honour of Ava Jean, the family would appreciate donations to the Infant Memory Program at the Ottawa Hospital (c/o The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, 737 Parkdale Ave., First Floor, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 1J8 - 613-761-4295).

1949 - 2004

At the Kingston General Hospital on March 11, 2004 at the age of 55 years. Dear mother of Kory Birtch and his wife Dorothy of R.R. No. 2 Brockville. Loving grandmother of Samantha and Bradley. Dear sister of Helen Easter (Ronald), Jean McCaugherty (Raymond), and Darlene Burns (Brian) all of Brockville and John McCombie (Nancy) of Ottawa. Stepsister of Donald Hutton (Ethel) and Berkley Hutton (Cathy) all of Brockville. Sister-in-law of Kathleen McCombie of Calgary, Faye Escott of Kingston. Also survived by her former husband Larry Granger. Predeceased by a daughter Lori Anne, her parents Andrew McCombie and Frances Burns; her step mother Mildred McCombie, by brothers Robert, Andrew, Gilbert and Bruce McCombie, a sister Evelyn Brown and by two step brothers Richard and Gerald Hutton. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Albert Nelson Shannon
1936-2003

Suddenly on Friday, November 14, 2003 at the age of 67 years. Beloved husband of Grace Shannon (nee Clark) of Brockville. Dear brother of Vera Chapelle and Edith Perkins both of Brockville. Predeceased by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shannon, by one sister and two brothers.

Charlottann Alice Dandridge
1938-2003

On Friday, November 14, 2003 surrounded by her family at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville; the former Charlott Alice Jarvis at the age of 65. Beloved wife of Norman Dandridge and loving mother of Elizabeth (Betty) Hicks and her husband Richard of R.R. 4 Brockville, Wendy Gill-Dandridge of Montreal, Brenda Sergerie and friend John Jensen of Maitland, and Sandra McCarthy and her husband Kevin of Lyn. Fondly remembered by eight grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sister-in-law and closest friend Mildred Nicholls. Also survived by her sisters Gay Morris of Montreal, Marilyn Ryder of Brooklyn, PA, and brothers Gary Jarvis of Montreal and John Jarvis of Charlotte NC, and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Susan Jarvis and brother Alfred Jarvis.

On Thursday, November 13, 2003, suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 45 years. Dear son of Mrs. Christiena Hogeveen and the late Harm Meppelder. Beloved husband of Trudy Meppelder (nee Luttjeboer) and loving father of Luke, Dan and Jackie Meppelder all of Maitland. Dear brother of Linda Frans (Ron) of Abbottsford, B.C., Christiena Scott (Nigel) of St. Catharines, Jane Fullarton (Bruce) of Maitland, and Don Meppelder (Lisa) of Algonquin. Son-in-law of Hemme and Diny Luttjeboer and brother-in-law of Hemme and Wanda Luttjeboer of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Effie and Iain Thirsk of Langley, B.C., Ben and Roberta Luttjeboer of Belleville, Kathy Luttjeboer of Vancouver, Cyndi and Joel Keen of St. Louis, Missouri. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and predeceased by his step-father Mike Hogeveen.

Geoffrey Evan Collins
1953-2003

Suddenly at his home after a brief illness on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at the age of 50 years. Son of the late Claude and Evelyn Collins. Dear father of Katie Collins and cherished friend of Ida Purcell both of Athens. Fondly remembered by Gordon and Gina Purcell. Brother of Grant, Roger and Danny Collins and Paula Mercier. Predeceased by sisters Barbara and Michelle.

Geert Van Dyke
1910-2003

Peacefully at the Broadview Nursing Centre, Smiths Falls, on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at the age of 93 years. Husband of the late Ytje (Hoeksma) Van Dyke. Loving father of Fred Van Dyke, William Van Dyke (Mae) all of Brockville, Garry Van Dyke (Nellie), Martin Van Dyke (Rita) all of Addison and Tina Wood (Ron) of Alliston. Fondly remembered by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by sons-in-law Gordon Taylor and John Michi. Predeceased by his parents Fred Van Dyke and Jitske Vander Kooi, by his daughters Minki Michi and Jitske Taylor, his daughter-in-law MaryAnn Van Dyke, three brothers and one sister.

Helen Isabel McLean
1917 - 2003

At Bridlewood Manor Brockville on November 1, 2003 . Daughter of the late Margaret and John McLean. Dear sister of John and his wife Ethel McLean and Catharine Zizzo all of Brockville. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Margaret and Jean McLean.

Private graveside services will be held at Oakland cemetery at a later date. Cremation took place at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium Maitland. Norma Eileen Lefave (nee Spence)
1917 - 2003

It is with sadness the family of Norma Lefave, in her 87th year, announce her passing on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in Peterborough. Beloved wife of the late Robert Lefave. Loving mother of Mary Lynne McMillan and her husband Steve of North Carolina, and Lexie Gowland and her husband Alec of Peterborough. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Amy, Adam, Jane and David Gowland, and Carrie Anderson; and by her great grandchild Alex Anderson. Dear sister of Bill Spencer of Stayner; and sister-in-law of William and June Lafave, Frank and Kay Lefave, Nancy Hanna, Anne Lefave and Cecilia Lefave. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday, November 1st from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church at 1p.m. followed by interment in the Parish cemetery. Please join us for a reception following at the Irvine Funeral Home. For those that wish to commemorate Norma through donation please consider the Humane Society or CNIB.
