Peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the home of son Fred and daughter-in-law Marilyn who were by his side; Johnston Stewart Watson at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of the late June (Plunkett) Watson who predeceased him in 2001. Loving father of John (Judy) of Kingston, Judy Shaw (Mike), of Hamilton, Doug Watson (Heather) of Gananoque, Debbie Selleck (Calvin) of Spencerville, Ron Watson of Algonquin, Rick Watson (Kim) of Kingston, Susan Buchanan (Ian) of Harrowsmith, Bob Watson (Roberta) of Johnstown, Fred Watson (Marilyn) of Brockville, and Sandra Heyman (Bert) of Maitland. Fondly remembered by 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Lorraine Williams, Lloyd, Henry, Edward and David Watson, Diane Towe and Eva Beckstead. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Trudy in 1966, by parents Robert Somers Watson and Margaret May Edgeley, by brothers John, Roderick, Bernard (Bud), and Donald, and by a sister Frances.

passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the age of 47 years. Ron will be sadly missed by his mother Iona and her husband John Pattemore of Elizabethtown. Cherished brother of Wallace Lamothe of Edmonton, Donna and her husband Ralph Metlin of St. Catharines, Gary Lamothe and Richard Lamothe and his wife Tina all of Brockville. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his nephew Michael Lamothe.

Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers Joseph, John and Gerald O'Grady and by two sisters Loretta McGuire and Justina O'Grady.

Loving father of Ken (Gloria), Grietje (John Feenstra), Wiesje (Arnold Stadig), Geesje (Rick Vander Woude), Henry (Lesley), Henny (Harold Feenstra), Fred (Dianna), Bill (Elaine), Pete (Kris), Jeff (Ellen), Rod (Sharrol), and Pamela (Rick Lewis). Fondly remembered by 32 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Also survived by four sisters, Willemkje, Annigtje, Grietje and Hendrikje. Predeceased by a daughter Geesje, , a sister Trynkje and brothers Siebren, Albert and Jelle.

Loving father of Lynn (Wayne Amyotte), Lesley (Henry Bangma) all of Mallorytown, and Tracey Cornforth of London. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Shannon, Amanda, Jacinda, James, David, Erin and Melissa. Dear brother of Thelma, Verta, Verna, Earl, Ada and Rhoda. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Grace Cornforth, and his sisters Rita and Lena.

Dear mother of Deborah A. Monette (David) of Hamilton, Raymond John Barnard (Claire Wardlow Barnard) of Mildmay, Ont., and Anthony David Barnard (Sheila) of Orleans, Ont. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren David and Rachelle Monette, Nichole and Petra Barnard, Chet and Chelsea Barnard. Sister of Richard John Wood of Tobermory and Robert Harold Wood of Minden. Survived and dearly missed by George Ross of Brockville and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Montagu Powell

In Brockville, Ontario on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in his 90th year. Beloved husband for 65 years of Louise Dewar Powell. Cherished father of Susan (Thomson) and Mayo (Graham), both of Ottawa. He also will be greatly missed by grandchildren Martha Joslin, Robert Thomson, Ana and Zoe Yuristy. Eldest son of the late M. Grant Powell and Aurelia C. Hughson (Rockcliffe Park). Attentive brother to Anne (Toronto) and the late Hugh and Alan. Bob graduated from Trinity College School, Port Hope, from the Royal Military College, Kingston (Head Cadet, B.S.M. 1934-35), and from the University of Toronto. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 until the end of WWII, latterly as Commanding Officer of the HMCS Belleville. He was employed as a chemical engineer with CIL/DuPont Canada for more than thirty years in Shawinigan, Montreal, Windsor, Texas and Brockville. A gentle-man of integrity, generosity, wry wit, intelligence and strength, he believed in honouring the natural environment and providing for those less fortunate. These acts of belief and kindness will be remembered in his work with St. Peter's Church, Sherwood Park Manor, the CNIB, the United Way, conservation authorities and environmental groups in the Brockville area. Bob passed on to his children and grandchildren his love of nature and adventure. He lived a truly selfless and courageous life, most recently in supporting his dear wife through this past decade of her loss of memory. Bob's family is grateful to the wonderful staff of St. Lawrence Lodge for their care and kindness. RIP
A celebration of his life will be held at one o'clock Saturday, March 20 at St. Peter's Anglican Church (corner of Pine and Park Streets, Brockville). Interment will follow at St. Peter's (Oakland) cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Sierra Club of Canada, or the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund would be appreciated by the family.
