Debora Maddalena
Peacefully at home on January 6, 2008 with her husband Tony by her side after fighting a courageous battle of cancer. Beloved daughter to John and Margaret Burns, daughter in law to Giovanni (predeceased Caterina) Maddalana .Loving sister of Shelley (Jerry) Maschewski, sister in law Angela (Joe) Monachino , Renata (Ed) Duncan, brother Mike (Sue) Maddalena. Cherished nieces and nephews Cassandra (Wes) Dorman, Caroline, Chantal, Jackie, Gabbie, John Michael, Rose, Catherine, Victoria and Christina. Treasured great niece and nephews Simon, Audrey and Alexander. Special thanks to the Juravanski Cancer Clinic, Dr. Tozer, Dr. Sussman and their staff, Dr. Steen and an extra special thank you to Brenda Hillier. Cremation has already taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road East (between Upper Gage and Upper Ottawa) HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Friday January 16, 2009 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program, the Hamilton Food Share, or the Wesley Urban Ministries Inc. would be appreciated.

David Brown
BROWN, David Surrounded by his loving family, at the McMaster Health Centre on February 9, 2009, after a lengthy illness, Dave went peacefully to his eternal rest. He will be deeply missed and always loved by his devoted wife of 51 years Christine and his children David (Paul), Christopher (Norma) and Pauline Hiltz (Michael). He will be especially missed by his eight grandchildren Lindsay, Hayley, Marly, Jamie-Lee, Grace, Christopher, Andrea and Stephanie, his neighbours and many friends. Dave will never be forgotten by all those whose lives he touched. Giuseppe Salvatore Battaglia
Peacefully passed away on February, 1st, 2009 after a short struggle with cancer. Beloved husband of Caterina of 55 years. Devoted father of Frances (Francesco) Loiero and Tony (Rose). Loving grandfather of Salvatore, Catherine, Jenny, Big Joseph, Little Joseph, and Erica. Predeceased by brothers Antonio and Pasquale (Giannina). Survived by his brother Teodoro (Francesca) and sisters Marianna (Domenico), Caterina (Giuseppe) and sister in law Nina. Special uncle to Tina and Mario DiCesare and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joe will be remembered for his devotion to his family, tireless work ethic and love for life. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff especially Danielle at the Henderson Hospital. Michael Paul Job Sr.
Mr. Job passed away peacefully at home with his wife Vicki at his side, on Friday, January 30, 2009. Michael is survived by his dear wife Vicki, loving son Michael Job Jr. (Kelly), step-son Michael Blanchard (Lara), cherished grandchildren Jaiden and Riley, brothers John, Wayne (Donna), Glen and Gary (Kim) and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Jack and Joan Job and sisters-in-law Heidi and Jackie. Michael was an employee of Stelco for 32 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, (905-574-0405), 947 Rymal Rd. E., HAMILTON, from 12 noon - 1 p.m. with the Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. According to Michael's wishes cremation has taken place. If friends so desire, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association.

Joanna Orzel
With great sadness the family announces the passing of Joanna on January 30, 2009 in her 48th year. Beloved wife of Jozef, devoted and cherished mother of Norbert, Bartosz, Damian, and Julcia. Joanna will also be missed by her sister Zosia (Jerzy), brothers: Adam, Zenon (Elzbieta), Stanislaw (Zofia), extended family and friends from Poland and Canada. Visitations at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road East, (between Upper Gage and Upper Ottawa) HAMILTON, (905)574-0405 on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009 from 6-9 pm and Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 from 5-9 pm. Rosary prayers will be held Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. The mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Polish Church, 8 Ann Street. Resting place at Our Lady of the Angels cemetery on 681 Mud St. E. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stanislaw Church – Renovation Fund.

Paul Francesco De Iulio
The Lord gave to us the most precious gift of a son for 29 years. How blessed we have been to share in his life and have unconditional love for each other at all times. His sense of humour and quick wit were amazing and a great source of enjoyment to all who knew him. There are no words to describe how he will be missed by his parents Susan and Michele De Iulio and his sister Lisa and husband Anthony Caruso. His greatest joys were definitely his niece Juliana otherwise known as Munchkin, and nephews Armando, aka the Destroyer, and Nathaniel his little buddy. He wove his way into the lives of many aunts, uncles and cousins and had a special place in his heart for Lexy, his soul sister. He will be sadly missed by many co-workers at HHS, McMaster site, who graciously provided Paul and his parents with a trip to Italy for a last visit with his Nonna and family which resulted in many happy memories and photos to cherish forever. How do we say goodbye? There are no words, except, “We love you deeply and forever. So until we meet again…our undying love will always be with you.” Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Rd. Santo Cocchiara
Cocchiara, Santo (1928-2009) Surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease, at the Henderson General Hospital in Hamilton on Sunday February 8, 2009 in his 81st year. Beloved husband and best friend of Rosalia “Lia” Cocchiara for 55 years. Loving father of Anna and her husband Tony Panacci and Philip Cocchiara and partner Catherine Tully. Much loved Nonno to Anthony and Joey. Dear brother of Antonio Cocchiara and his wife Natala of Italy, Pietro Cocchiara and his wife Maria, and the late Giacomo Cocchiara. Brother-in-law of Giusepina and the late Paolo Truncale, and Antonietta and the late Calogiro Costa. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and his friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 10th between 2-4 and 6-9pm at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME 947 Rymal Rd. E. (between Upper Gage & Upper Ottawa) Hamilton (905-574-04-05). Vigil will be held on Tuesday at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (20 Idlewood Ave. Hamilton) on Wednesday February 11th at 10:30am. Stephen Warrick Kiley
Peacefully at home on February 8, 2009 one day shy of his 45th birthday. Loving and devoted father of Steven. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Jane and Robin Bennett and Katherine and Terry Freeman. Predeceased by his parents Phillip and Beverley Kiley and his brother Phillip A. Kiley. Stephen will be forever missed by his Angels Joanne, Kim, Michelle and his good friend Mike. Stephen was an amazing truly inspirational individual that will live on in our hearts forever. Peacefully at home on Thursday, January 8, 2009, surrounded by family. Anna was born August 16, 1998. Beloved daughter of Dorothy (nee Brodowski) and Derek Srokowski. Adored sister of Chloe, Charlie and Alicja Srokowski. Cherished granddaughter of Anna Maria Brodowski of Selkirk and Chester Brodowski of Hamilton, Ada and Wit Srokowski of St. Catharines. Loving niece of Lisa and Kurt Hummel of Toronto and Grace and Andy Suchowacki of Hamilton. Youngest cousin to Sophia, Stephanie and David Koszalka. Anna will always be remembered by her devoted Niania Pani Jolanta and Pan Janusz Izraelski. Anna will be dearly missed by her friends at C.H. Norton and John T. Tuck and Talc Academy. Elizabeth "Betty" Wright (nee Millsip)
Peacefully at the Meaford General Hospital, on Sunday January 4, 2009 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Wright (1994). Loving mother of Ross (Marianne), Grant and Craig. Cherished and devoted grandmother of Kevin (Kristine), Brian (Jennifer), Andrew, Kyle, Robyn and great grandchildren, Julianne, Elizabeth and Emma. Predeceased by her sisters Mae and Jean and brothers Jim, Jack and Joe. Betty loved her family and friends and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked a good game of bridge and loved to travel to many parts of the world, of course Scotland was her favorite destination! Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive, (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens) BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment Woodland cemetery , Hamilton. Elinore Carter (Nichols) passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4th, 2009 at Brant Centre with her family at her side. Elinore was a devoted and loving mother. She is survived by daughters Gail, (Denis), Valerie, Marilyn, Norma, Barbara (Louie) and son Glenn. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Craig. Visitation for the public will be held on Tuesday January 6, 2009. from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Wednesday January 7, 2009 from 11 a.m. - 12 noon at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens), BURLINGTON (905-527-0405). Cremation to follow with interment in Montreal.

Peacefully, in his 90th year at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre, Stoney Creek. Norman Alfred Tipler, son of the late Annie and Alfred Tipler. Beloved husband of Phyllis Konkle for 65 years. Loving father of Cora-Anne (Al) Steinbach. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Jeremy and Gregory Steinbach. Predeceased by siblings Kenneth, Marjory (Jim) Rattray, Gladys (Perce) Inwood, and Dorothy (Leslie) Robinson. Will also be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and God-daughter Carol Fossey. Norman was a Canadian Army Veteran of W.W. II and an amateur radio operator. Special thanks to the staff of Ridgeview for their exceptional care.
