Shirley A. Bradley (nee Stewart) - 07/20/2003

Peacefully on July 19, 2003 in her 88th year. Wife of the late Lt. Col. Lloyd W. Bradley. Dear mother of John (Dawn), David (Shirley), Paul (Sally), Stephen (Bernadette) and the late James. Cherished grandmother of Robert (Judy), Greg(Karen), Christopher, Sarah, Shaun, Stephanie, Joan, Sheila and Colin. Survived by beloved sister, Audrey; predeceased by brothers, Harris, Lorne and sister Betty. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, PLayfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, July 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 23rd at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. Special thanks to the exceptional care given by all the staff at New Orchard Lodge. For those wishing, a donation to the Resident's Council, New Orchard Lodge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Suddenly, on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in his 77th year. Born in Nippissing Twp., Ontario, a long-time resident of Wakefield, Quebec. Dear father of Ken and Russ. Survived by sisters Gwen Clark (Lee), Shirley Schell (Ken), nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Kenneth. Beloved friend if Lucille Bergeron. A Memorial Gathering will be held held at the McGarry Memorial Chapel, 139 Valley Road, Wakefield, Quebec, on Thursday, August 7, 2003 from 5-8 p.m.

Wm. Ross Chamberlain - 07/26/2003

Peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2003, at age 90. Husband of the late Mary Fairbairn Torrance. Beloved father of Lynn (Peter Lonstrup), Janice (Robin Porter), Michael (Nancy) and Deborah Rosenlund. Dearly loved grandpa of Elizabeth, Michael, Kyle, Richard, Kristina, Susie, David, Julia and Cameron and great-grandpa of Noah, Max, and Kennedy. He was a member of the late Royal Canadian Dragoons and served with IV Princess Louise Dragoon Guards during WWII. Before his retirement from the Carleton Board of Education in 1978 he was Head of Guidance at Merivale High School, he was also a member of Council at Manotick United Church, a Youth Education Officer and the long-time Secretary of Branch 314 Royal Canadian Legion and founder and Past-President of Rideau Seniors. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Those wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice.

Emirance Chateauvert (nee Levesque) - 07/23/2003

Peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the age of 87. Dearly beloved wife of the late Albert. Dear mother of Constance (Aurele), Guy (Claudette) , Gerry (Suzanne), Marcel (Denise) and Claude. Dear sister of Ernest. Also loved by her 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several friends. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, July 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St- Sebastien Roman Catholic Church, 1000 Frances Street, Ottawa on Friday, July 25 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.

Dear father of Andree and Guy (Rhea). Also loved by his grandchildren Nicole, Nadia, Maja, Mark and his great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his two daughters Nicole and Danielle. Dear brother of Francoise and Gabrielle. Brother-in-law of Jean (Angella), Marc (Lucille) and Michele. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Avaiation Parkway on Tuesday, July 29th, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Bernard cemetery. Paul de Brouwer - 07/26/2003

Peacefully in Ottawa on July 24, 2003 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Suzanne. Cherished brother of Yvonne, Christiane, Antoinette, Sister Mary Joseph (Madeleine) Albert, Godelieve, Monique and his brother-in-law Jacques. He also leaves behind his adopted children, Marie-Pierre, Xavier, Jean-Francois, Dominique; his grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Bruges, Belgium after an important period of twenty years in L'Abbaye de Maredsous, he emigrated to Canada in 1964. He was a teacher in Ste-Therese-de-Blainville, in Matagami, in Farnham, in Touraine (St-Alexandre College) and in Ottawa (Lycee Claudel and Ottawa University). As well as being a teacher he was an expert in UNESCO in Africa. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, July 30th, 2003 from 1 p.m. until service time in the Chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society of Ottawa would be appreciated by the family.

"Mac" Alexander MacGregor Esdon - 07/29/2003

Ret'd Principal - Ottawa Board of Education and Veteran WWII Mac passed away very suddenly early Sunday, July 27, 2003. Mac was the dearly beloved husband and best friend of "Phyl" Phyllis Mary (Milne). Cherished father of Heather Esdon (Douglas West), Barbara (Robert McCue) and Scott (Heather Strong). Very special Grandpa to Christopher West, Nicholas McCue, Andrew Esdon and Ryan Esdon. Brother-in-law of Joyce Mueller and Gordon Milne. Son of the late A. Herbert and Belle Esdon of Cornwall. Brother of the late W. Stuart Esdon of Napanee, ON and the late R. Russell Esdon of Vancouver, BC. Mac also filled the role of special cousin and uncle. He was a highly respected teacher and later Principal with the Ottawa Public School Board from 1951 to 1984. Willing volunteer and helper in the community, a devoted and active member of Southminster United Church, good neighbour and enthusiastic member of the Navy Curling Club. Many will miss his kindness, caring, generosity of spirit and great sense of humour. Mac and Phyl celebrated their Golden Anniversary earlier this month. Friends may call at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Southminster United Church (Bank St. Bridge at Aylmer Ave.) on Thursday at 1 p.m. (Bank St. under construction). Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, Southminster United Church Memorial Fund or the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Suddenly in hospital on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, aged 79 years. Beloved wife of the late Bernard and loving mother of Aimee Britten (Ronald). Dear grandmother of Aimee-Star Rico (Antonio), Bernard Britten and David Britten. Great-grandmother of Ronnie, Frankie and Miranda. Also survived by brothers and sisters in Israel and relatives in Belgium. A Funeral Service will be held at The Jewish Community Chapel, Osgoode on Friday, July 25, 2003 at 12 noon. William David Goodwin - 07/18/2003

Predeceased by his parents William G. and Molly Goodwin. Survived by his sister Kathleen and her husband Ron Legrove, of Parksville, B.C., and niece Rhonda and her husband Billy, and their children Jack, Kelly and Christian. Long-time friend of Greg McKiel. Bill was the Director General of the Information Technology Services Directorate of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, where he had worked for twenty- eight years. A funeral service will be held at the Church of St. Barnabus (corner of Kent and James Streets in Ottawa) on Tuesday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centretown Community Health Services of Ottawa, 420 Cooper Street, K2P 2N6 (613-233-4443).

Peacefully in hospital on Friday, July 25, 2003. Daughter of the late Edward and Ruth L. Greene. Sister of John E. Greene (Edna) of Suffield, Conn. Aunt of Robert E. Greene, Nancy (Charles) Curtiss and the late Janet MacGregor (Robert). A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, to be announced. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
