Zahara, Beverley Jane 1936-2010

Zahara, Beverley Jane

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Beverley Jane on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the age of 73. She was born in Leamington, Ontario to Robert and Violet Brunker.

She worked for TransCanada Airlines (Air Canada) in Windsor where she met and married John. She spent the next 52 years raising 4 children who in turn gave her 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Beverley will be sadly missed by her children Linda Zahara, Patricia Desborough, Sharon Chandler (Don), and Tony Zahara (Debbie).

Proud grandmother of Michael Desborough (Stacey), Kyle Zahara, Jessica Zahara and Taylor Zahara, Jaime Chandler (Lou) and great-grandmother of Kyrah and Devon Desborough. She will be missed by her sister Barbara Smith (Edward) of Elora, mother in law Rose, wife of the late Jack Zahara of Windsor , brother in law Malloy Zahara (Marion) of Leamington, cousin Bill James of Leamington and many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to the VON, Cancer Assistance Program and CCAC and especially to Thelma DiAdamo (PSW), without people like you, we could never have kept her at home as long as we did.

Vistation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON, 905.574.0405, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Mt Hope, on Thusday, January 21, 2010, at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dr Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated.

Zahodnik, Paul 1921-2008

Peacefully at Regina Gardens, Hamilton on Sunday, March 30, 2008 age 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Marian (nee Smale). Loving brother of Phyllis Hudolin (John) and Anne Dobrowloski (Russell). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family, friends and neighbours. Paul was a veteran of WWII, a retired employee of Intermetco and an avid golfer who enjoyed life. Special thanks to Dr. Benger and nurse Wendy at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and to all the caring staff at Regina Gardens. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.

With great sadness we announce Sabrina’s passing after a courageous struggle with Neurofibromatosis. Beloved daughter of Tun and Lori. Little sister to Victor and Melanie. Sabrina will be deeply missed by her grandparents, Ron and Rhoda Francey, uncles and aunts; Dave and Lee and Jim and Hilary, as well as cousins Michael, Erin (Nate), Ryan, Meagan and Heather. She will be missed by her aunties in Burma; Kyi Kyi May, Grace, Mary, Daisy and Kitty; extended family in Philadelphia, PA. and Bonita Springs, FL. Sabrina has touched the lives of many friends and co-workers, and will be remembered by all for her fierce determination, fiery spirit and quick wit. A Private Cremation will be held on Friday at Bayview Crematorium, Burlington. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Dr., BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 1pm. Words of Remembrance will begin at 4pm. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Abhijit Guha (Toronto Western Hospital/UHN) for his compassion and care for Sabrina and his dedication to Neurofibromatosis Research.

Zawadzki, Mary (nee Iscenko) 1921-2008

After a lengthy illness, Mary passed away peacefully at Grace Villa Nursing Home, Hamilton, on November 1, 2008, at the age of 87. Mary was predeceased by her husband Joseph (1999) and by her son Richard (1997). Loving mother of daughters Judy (late Joseph) Kieltyka of New Britain, Connecticut and Marilyn (Ray) Kuliberda of Hamilton. Adored grandmother of Ted (Monica) Kieltyka, Steve (Lily) Kieltyka, Irene (Darren) Nerbonne, Chrissy (Sean) Reddington, all from Connecticut, and by Melissa, John, Katrina, Robert and Amanda Kuliberda of Hamilton. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly missed by the Lisowski family and the Kaminski family. Mary was an employee of Chedoke Hospital and McMaster University. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road East (between Upper Gage and Upper Ottawa), HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 20 Idlewood Court, Hamilton on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. Vigil for Mary will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre cemetery , Burlington. Our family would like to give thanks to the staff at Grace Villa Nursing Home for their compassionate and loving care of both Mary and her family.

Zielinski (Leclerc), Cara-Lei Soleil 2009-2009

It is with profound sadness that we announce the still birth of our precious expected baby girl, Cara-Lei, on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at McMaster University Medical Centre. Cara-Lei will be in her mommy’s and daddy’s (Amy’s and Adam’s) hearts forever, as well as heartbroken grandparents, Trudy and Peter Leclerc and Ryszard and Wieslawa Zielinski. Also sharing our loss is Cara-Lei’s Uncle Steven and Auntie Barb Leclerc, Uncle Mariusz and Auntie Magda (cousins Natalie and David) Adamczyk, and Great Aunt Brenda and Great Uncle Randy (cousins Jennifer and Bryan) Marcotte. Our heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care by the Labour and Delivery team at McMaster, especially Nurse Laurie. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. followed by entombment in a crypt at Bayview Mausoleum, 740 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington, with a luncheon to follow back at Bay Gardens Funeral Home.

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Mark Shin Fujino, in his 83rd year, on October 17, 2009. Beloved husband of Sue, companion of 50 years. Loving father of Carol ( Ron Mah) and Mary Ann (Yves Lapointe) and grand-papa of Mathieu, Felix and Juliette. Devoted brother of Tom (Rebecca), Tak ( Rose), Pat (George Ikeda) and Kay (Tad Suzuki). Pre-deceased by his parents Peter Itsuki, Ari Ayako and sister Emiko. The family will receive friends at the BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – 1010 Botanical Drive, (across from the Bayview cemetery & Mausoleum) Burlington (905 527 0405) on Thursday October 22, from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Dearest grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Galligan, Peter 1934-2009

Peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, June 27th, 2009 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Betty for 44 years. Loving father of Jane (Keith) and Colleen. Cherished grandfather of Madison and Peter. Brother of Mary Cannon of New Jersey, pre-deceased by William and Margaret. He will be fondly remembered by brother-in-law Brian (Terri), sisters-in-law Linda (Ed) and Marilyn, and many nieces and nephews. Peter will be remembered for his generous and compassionate spirit towards others, his quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humour. He had been retired from the Ironworkers local 700. A special thanks to the VON nurses and staff at the Bob Kemp Hospice who demonstrated such kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME 947 Rymal Road East (between Upper Ottawa and Upper Gage) on Tuesday, June 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held o Tuesday at 8 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Church, 280 Limeridge Road West, on Wednesday, July 1st at 10 am. Galus, Pauline 1912-2009

Peacefully, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Sunday, February 8, 2009, in her 98th year, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Paul. Cherished mother of the late John Galus (2006) and wife Arlene and Dorine Giammichele and husband Anthony. Devoted grandmother of Peter, Adena and Mark, Glenn and Cathy and great-grandchildren Jenna, Hayley, Danica and Keira. Predeceased by her cherished parents Samuel and Julia, and siblings Margaret, Julia, Susan, Mary and John. Visitation at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 15 Wexford St., S., (at Main), Hamilton on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Private interment Woodland cemetery , Hamilton. Garbas, Mary 1921-2010

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Garbas (nee Kratovich) in her 89th year on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.

Mary was predeceased by daughter Cathy, husband John and parents Clement and Tekla Kratovich. Mary is survived by sons Dennis (Cathy), Ron (Susan), daughter Sharon (Sam) and sister Bernice McNulty. Mary is also survived by her beloved and loving grandchildren Carrie, Steven, Jamie and Matthew.

In accordance with her wishes a private family funeral has taken place.
