Wynhofen, William "Bill" 1938-2008
Today we are sad to announce with heavy hearts the passing of Bill Wynhofen, a great husband, a loving father, and proud grandfather. He was always a mentor and guiding light for our family and a sincere and stable influence in our life. After a brave and anxiety ridden battle with “C,” the disease took him from us; took him… but not his spirit. All whose lives he touched will remember Bill as a kind, good and gentle man. Left behind to celebrate his memory, and ensure that his spirit lives on, are his wife, Joanne, his daughters, Yvonne van Hoek (Mark), Margo Wynhofen (Paul Christie) and Lisa Sidorkewicz (John), and three beautiful legacies, his grandchildren, Alex, William and Joelle. He will also be greatly missed by his extended family Bailey, Cole and Logan Christie. He is survived by his sister Gerry Van Lierop (Ronald Groulx), Ted and Sandy Wynhofen, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Ted and Minnie Wynhofen. Bill retired in 2007 after a 32-year career in real estate. His clients will best remember him for his honesty and integrity. He was a skilled negotiator, always working for his clients. In 1997, he took up bridge, and made a whole new circle of friends who are also going to mourn his absence from the table. A special thank you to The Carpenter Hospice, Elizabeth Dougherty, Christy Taberner, and Melissa Chadwick-Popp for looking after “her Wynhofens". We have beautiful memories to grasp and enjoy, whenever we feel the need to touch him. We will love and miss him always. Private cremation Bayview Crematorium, Burlington. Loving wife of Peter Young. Beloved daughter of John and the late Margaret Kelly. Treasured by her three sisters and their husbands: Janice and Ernie Coulson, Debbie and Rick Bensette, Terri and Dave Iarusso.
