Died peacefully in the company of family at Island Lodge on Friday, November 28, 2003, at the age of 96. Beloved mother of Dr. Heather Ogilvie of Pollok, Texas and Bruce Ogilvie of Ottawa. Predeceased by her husband Lt. Col. Alexander A. Ogilvie and her brother of Montreal. Mrs. "Pat" Ogilvie was born in Charlton, England on August 25, 1907. She came to Canada with her husband in 1928. A member of St. John The Apostle Church, she resided in Ottawa for the past 47 years. Noted for her rendition of "Danny Boy", Pat was blessed with a clear soprano voice. During her early years she enjoyed singing in her choir in the Lake Simcoe area. Friends may visit at the Memorial Funeral Home of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 584 Somerset Street West on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Cremation with private interment of the urn at Pinecrest cemetery. Marrion (nee Rae) Peel - 11/19/2003
passed away peacefully at the Glebe Centre on November 17th, 2003 in her 96th year. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son Harold (Dorothy), granddaughter Michelle (Alan) and great-granddaughters Kate, Emily and Tess of Ottawa, grandson Tim (Danielle) of Toronto, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Verda and Marjorie, and in 1969 by her husband Jack. Marrion was born in Fleming, SK in 1908 and an RN graduate of the Regional Grey Nuns' Hospital in 1929. After a busy family life and communityy service, she moved to Ottawa in the early seventies. Throughout her life she was an energetic and accomplished artist who enjoyed painting, creating porcelain dolls and various other crafts. Her interests in travel and collecting were an inspiration to her family. A memorial service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Saturday, November 22, at 2 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
