After a lengthy illness, on Friday, June 29, 2007, Joseph Delroy Guertin beloved husband of Linda Guertin (Campbell). Cherished father of Dan Guertin (Kim). Will be sadly missed by brothers: Reynolds (Denise), Oscar, George (Carol) and Wilfred (Bernadette), sisters: Rita Smith, Jainnine Wagner, Dolores Guertin and Prudence England (Robert). Remembered by special friend Rolly Renaud. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd., Ottawa (at Roosevelt) on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment in the National Military cemetery (Beechwood), Ottawa. Also survived by her brother Cuthbert Massey (Fern) of Stittsville. Predeceased by her sister Gwendoline Cowan (Howard). She is survived by her loving husband Daniel Bevis Dewar, son Peter Dewar and daughter Sarah Leahy (Stephen). Cherished grandmother of Daniel Dewar and Kevin and Kira Leahy. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Hewitt and Eva Foster and by her 2 husbands Franklin Salter and Kenneth Smith. Beloved mother of Linda Sutton, Judy Currie and the late William Salter. Predeceased by her brothers William and Clarence, her sisters Wilma and Irene and her son-in-law Ken Currie. Cherished Nana of Jason Currie, Darryl Currie, Darcy Currie, Tracey Sutton Shackles (Mark), Scott Sutton (Tracey), David Goddard (Beth) and Cheryl Terrell. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the Ottawa Cancer Clinic, 5th Floor East, nurses and doctors at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus and the Hospice at May Court. Predeceased by her loving husband Albert Hodgins, her brothers; Harry, Arthur and George Bassett, and her sisters; Myrtle Scott, Bertha Graff and Gertrude Bassett. Loving mother of June Hodgins, of Kinburn, and George Hodgins, of Perth. Cherished grandmother of Heather Linder (Kevin), and David Hodgins (Seana), and great-grandmother of Finn and Rowan Linder and Liam and Emily Hodgins. Dear sister of Laura Mooney and Emily Smith as well as sister-in-law of Thelma Bassett. Hughes, Dorothy
Dorothy, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England on February 17, 1916 passed away peacefully on July 17, 2007 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Charles Austin, who passed away in 1976. Dorothy is survived by her sons Christopher (Rhodena MacDonald) of Ottawa, Howard (Joyce Hughes) of Port Moody, BC, grandson Gregory and great-granddaughter Gabriella (Bree) of Ottawa and granddaughter Shauna (Ian St. Pierre) of Smiths Falls. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her family and friends as an avid traveller and a true daughter of Yorkshire with a fine sense of humour and a no-nonsense approach to life. A special thanks is extended to the staff of Garden Terrace for their caring and kind support.
